No Idea,I was born in 1937. probably a FredAstaire /Ginger Rogers film toon. Too late i should think for Shirley Temple singing 'The Good Ship Lollipop' altho the name was still popular hence MOI. Shirley |

Joan, Suggest Bing crosby, White christmas. (recorded in 1942 but was ever popular). Wouldn,t have been number 1 at xmas, but I always associate 'ghost riders in the sky' with that period - very happy days for me(under the prom at blackpool etc) Happy days |

If anyone wants to hear Winifed Atwell at her best, I can oblige! LOL My in-laws were very keen on dance band and piano music, so when they died, we inherited their record and tape collections - Joe Loss, Bert Kaempert, Ray Conniff, Klaus Wunderlich (and his organ), Russ Conway and Winnie Atwell - who had her 'good' piano (a grand, if I remember rightly) and her 'other' piano, which was a 'honky-tonk' upright one like the old-time pubs used to have. I quite like some of her renditions, especially 'Maple Leaf Rag' and 'Down Yonder' ! I suppose you could say she was the 'Bobby Crush' of her day. LOL (Thinks - Now they'll all want to know who Bobby Crush is!) >*|*< |
