Hi everyone! I stopped on 3rd Jan but cheated the 2nd week so stopped completely on 16th Jan - 2 weeks tomorrow! Elaine - you need to use the patches for longer than a month - I'm stopping through the nurse at the clinic - I've to have the large patches for 2 months, medium for 2 weeks and small for 2 weeks - 3 months in total. I was smoking 15 a day so if you were smoking around the same you probably need the patches still. Buy some more - you don't want to spoil what you have already achieved! Good luck to everyone else and B C - you're such a support too! Debby |

Good Morning all! So glad to hear your great news, Elaine, as I know you had a tough time. When I finished my patches, I used the the smallest one for two weeks more until I was ready? By now you have the very smallest amount of nicotine in your body. Hope the two Joys, James and wife, and all are doing good. And Gray, you can always start again on Monday:-) XX BC |

Do not fret, Gray! Keep on stopping. I went through exactly the same thing on one of my Quitting occasions. My best friend (a smoker) said I was so cranky I should start smoking again! And I couldnt wait to do just that! lol but I know you will beat it:) And best wishes to everyone else who is quitting....XX BC |

For those of you who are strugging, I really recommend reading the Allen Carr Book 'The only way to stop smoking permanently'. I was a 25 a day smoker for about 27 years, and i have quit after reading that book, no patches, no gum, nothing. It will change your mind set and make it so much easier, honestly. and my quite meter now says Two months, one week, five days, 20 hours, 20 minutes and 30 seconds. 1846 cigarettes not smoked, saving $830.78. Life saved: 6 days, 9 hours, 50 minutes. |

Here comes your cheerleader! Gray, please dont get upset, you are doing so well, and start off again tomorrow. You are allowed a small setback, I'm sure:-) And well done again to you all, and welcome to the Club Carol...loads of water at first, orange juice (to replace the Vit C you have lost), chop up fruit and veg. and nuts and put in bowl in fridge (easy on the nuts!) to nibble at when you get the urge.. And long walks! It would be nice if the thread kept going, just to keep everyone on their toes, and to have a moan when needed.....HAPPY SMOKEFREE TUESDAY! XX BC |
