Paul Hope you take note of what Paul Chunks is saying be careful what you do with the info. I am glad Elaine put that tip on the boards (I had forgotten it ) It may help others locate a membership number of some nutter who may use another members name to email someone else. Pat x |

Just like to add Ive been targetted on here as well as others as part of a supposed Gang or clique... At times some awfull things have been said to us. Im part of no adverse group of people. You dont have to have friends to cause trouble, and those who do have friends rarely gang up to cause trouble for others. If someone wants to cause trouble they will do so, be it alone or with others, but lets not get into that stage where we suspect everyone is in a gang of some sort. Elaine x |

what a good idea, if GR added your membership number to your name, nobody would be able to pose as someone else, and you could change your name as much as you wanted, but still be identified |

We could add our number ourselves to our board name surely. xxhugxx If you all think it is a good idea I will put up a separate thread but will await your opinions first. xxhugxx |

Lindy Adding your member number to your name is all but useless. If the nutter can change their name to yours, then they can also add your member number beside that name. The only way to do that is if GR fixed the number beside our names. Another way would be that we choose a board name, but have to mail gr to change that name That would stop some of the mischief makers Elaine x |

Yes I definitely agree with you Elaine, I find most of the trouble stems from individuals, its seems its always been that way. Although we would all love to know who causes trouble it seems it's impossible to keep up with it it changes so often. It's been proven before US adding the membership number to our names doesn't work because you only have to go into account details & change it takes seconds :-( We need GR to do and have it fixed so no matter how many times people change names numbers can't be. Oh I did not realise that, so perhaps we should do a thread asking folk if they think getting gr to add our number is a good idea. I am up onto the loft for a while so if anyone wants to put a thread up I will sign when I come back down. xxhugxx loft monster hunting. |

what if its someone who has 2 memberships on here? one of them to be normal and then they use the other one to cause trouble? Coz all they need is two email addresses isnt it?? xxxx |

Yeah if we add our numbers to our names, people can easily change it by one didgit to throw people off. People wouldnt think to actually look it up. However if GR actually put this up, so we couldnt change the numbers it might work. |

GR will only do it if they want to, I don't think petitions will do any good... after all, they'll probably just say - you can check someones membership number easily at teh moment anyway by clicking on their name. I recommended it to them about a year ago when they asked for ideas for site improvements ! I'm not really sure what the answer is though. |

It would work Paul (oops Top Cat Paul lol). I think it should be simple of GR to do this. I have wanted this done for ages, no sign yet of GR helping us to i.d. each and everyone on these boards. I mean the members who seem to come to do the nasties and then leave :-( It leaves people wondering who they are if they are regulars or not. The only way to stop it is for us to i.d. by membership number as well as name. Pat x |

Maybe if we make a new thread, and everyone can post their own numbers there. Making it easier to see if everyone is telling the truth about their number. This way anyone who wants to make a list of numbers can do so. |
