I am going to wangaratta on Friday also to meet up with the lady who's greatuncle married my Nans sister Elsie Walsh Hamilton Stringer she was the lady who was captured when travelling to Ocean Island where her then Husbansd Harry stringer was the harbour master and they were attacked by the German raiders and taken prisoner , and only by asking for anyone who could find the children of her and William Hamilton on the AUS-NSW Rootsweb list , as I believed it was one of their children who wrote the Family History of my Patrick Walsh and Margaret Mary Lowney , it was written by Miss J Hamilton who I would now think is a child of Elsie's son to William Hamilton, Charles Hamilton but of course I can not find her any where yet as she would be the same generation as me sorry got an email re this very story and went searching as someone gave me a clue so have to go and do the H/ work Hehe really this time bye for now PS just got a sms from lunching wattlers having fun , jill trifley graeme duckers loz good to hear trifley and duckers there toolove Lara

Afternoon all, I've been flat out since I got up this morning and just had a phone call to say the wardrobe guy is held up on a job and can he come same time tomorrow night - yaaaay - a bit more time to get this place a bit more shipshape. So now I'm taking it a bit easier this afternoon. Actually I am really pleased with how much I have done this morning - pity I couldn't always be like that - oh well Daughter rang from Sydney while waiting for Murray's to bring her home. She had a good time in Kuala Lumpur and can recommend Malaysian Airlines, totally different from United. Laurie - Shaz was sucking up calling you cuz cos of your BIG win on Lotto - although at that stage I don't think you knew how much you might have won. Jood - how's the choccie eating going? Rather warm day here but inside is still nice - although we are in for warmer days until weekend so guess it won't take long for the house to heat up too. Yvette - sorry I can't help with your housecleaning - I have enough mess of my own to do things with - BUT we are starting to see a breakthrough. Even son chucked lots out the other day - pity it was after the recycling bin was emptied tho as he almost filled it again. SuzyQ - loved the joke. Tony - don't work too hard Now if Jood needs a new firie she should be heading to Vic - those Canadians are a bit of alright too Enough rest for me - ironing awaits - not sure for how long tho, now that the puta is switched on there's too much temptation to stay here - lol Catchya ron Gwenda

Now so far this is the list I have for the Wine Tour/Luncheon: Gwenda and Dave Sandra and Mike Dianne & Graeme Joan and Rob Laurie & Ray Jude 3 & Ken Jood Anna Lara The Duck Please advise if you have been left off the list, or whether you would prefer to do you own thing and only join us for lunch. Morning Wattlers very smokey day again in Melbourne, woke up this morning and could only see about 1/2 km. Have been sneezing my head off all morning its going to be a hottie as well. Our poor firies must be exhausted. Its going to be a pleasure to see a clear sky again. Its supposed to be a north wind today but so far its not coming from that direction. Saw on the news a couple of days ago that we have a contingent of canadian firies that have arrived to help - specialists in difficult terrrain. Have a great lunch GC girls piccles please. Forgot to ask yesterday - what happened to Vonny's son? I gather it was an accident. but couldn't get back far enough pages to fathom out what happened - could someone please explain. Jood you can have all the chocs ya want - I get a craving for chococlate once in a blue moon and then 1 will do me.You would have to fight to the death if there was choccies and Ken wanted them though! Lew is it too late to put our names down for the tour/lunch forgot to say yesterday, mind you I had just read 20 pages of goss so can I be forgiven for being slack. I was in the mood to veg in front of the tele last night, however the master of the remote (MOTR) wanted to watch cricket, he wouldn't go and watch it on the other tele (which doesn't have foxtel) so I made a nice chai tea, grabbed my book and went to bed in a huff. Not telling MOTR but best thing I could have done - turned the light off at 9.30 and had a wonderful sleep until 6.45am - feeling quite refreshed today lol. Phone is getting busy -pop in later jude 3

Morning Wattlers and a big hello to Donna. So pleased to hear that you're getting better day by day. Take it easy and don't overdo things. Pity you can't make it to the GC Meet. It should be a blase Greetings and Welcome to the nicest thread on the boards. Price for that ticket sounds pretty good to me. I travel a lot and find Emirates to be a pretty good airline, along with any of the east asian ones. I'm narky with Qantas at the moment, so won't recommend them, lol. Had big sleep in and am feeling good. Ready to tackle the dreaded H******k before I leave on Friday. ~~~to all~~~ Off to get some brunch HRH Dr Lew Lew PS A decision as to who will take over medication duties will be announced shortly. Stay tuned, lol

Thought I'd poke my nose in, because Yvette said you were all nice & friendly and had a wicked sense of humour, suits me :))) While I'm here, can i ak you something? My friends daughter emmigrated to Perth last year, and my friend wants to visit in October. She has been quoted about £700.00 return fare, is that reasonable do you think, she has no idea if it is, or could maybe someone suggest an airline they have used? Have a lovely day in the sun. I'm not at all jealous of your beautiful weather :))) Lynda

Morning all, rise'n shine (and its not that early after all) Laurie - I couldn't for the life of me find that message again - it would take me days! .. I didn't recognize Deidrie's name as I knew her by her nickname. .. I tried to entice her away from that OTHER thread, but I don't think she will come. .. She told me this morning that you two have been emailing. .. I just realised I could have met Bev in W.A, but no one mentioned it, and I didnt know where she was from. I'm out again this morning - oh the rat race again - running all over the place. .. Sometimes I wish I could just stay home. Noticed Tony wasn't on yesterday - where are ya mate? Off to get a bite to eat. Wattle it be! Decisions! Hope Wattie makes it to Mudgee before you leave Lew. Jood

Good evening Wattlers Well it rained over night last night and the heat of yesterday was followed by a lovely overcast cooler day today. Much more pleasant. We spent the morning just clearing away getting ready for leaving here on Thursday and then this afternoon we went back to the city to meet up with the tin lids. Had a lovely meal at the Belvadere Hotel at Woody Point . . . great venue - right on the water, and scrummy food. I had seafood! Hate saying goodbye to the boys, can't wait to get back for good. Lara, glad everything is going OK for Tiger . . . you take care of you too . . . no running yourself ragged!!! So sorry you can't make it tomorrow Anna, you will be missed, only a few weeks till Mudgee so catch you there !!!! Jood . . . for the life of me I can't find where I have called Shaz, cuz . . . you have me all curious . . help my tired old eyes out - can you show me please . . . must have been a typo or something strange. Oh Mary if only I could say all the clutter was really gone . . . until the boys get there stuff sorted we are always going to be in overload here. Rotters want to keep everything (bowerbirds are in their blood . . . teehee) but dont want to take it with them. Joodles, you exchanged messages with Deirdre the other day didn't you, she lives on the island in Moreton Bay remember . . . and Libby is aka Harry's mum on other side - dont know what she goes by on GR. Libby lives not far from me. Enjoy your little break away Heather, enjoy every moment you can with your DD while you can - they grow up too quickly and you can't get time back. Yvette, . . . TLR makes me sick with his alarm clock . . . he just tells himself he want to wake up at such and such a time and low and behold it just happens . . . never misses! Me I am like you live in fear of sleeping thru the alarm clock - usually set all clocks and the phone just to make sure and still wake all night in anticipation. Joodles. . . lets grow old disgracefully . . . much more fun !!! . . . so they say teeheee!!! Nice to have you back Money Pit Girl . . . I would love to see the pickles of the continueing story please. (TLR says he hopes it was an Oldfields extension pole . . . heehee) Oh Dear . . . Where Oh Where can our little Wattie be ????? Maybe he is hiding like the Ducky (nag, nag nag ) !!! Keep us posted Lew. Seems the slogfest game of cricket went the Aussie way yet again !!! Well off to the coast tomorrow to meet up with the Wattlers . . . should be fun - as always! Still not sure if TLR is coming to lunch with me or not - then early Thursday back in the car to head off to Sydney. We will probably stop in at Tuncurry for the night on the way down. Besides being where my parents are laid to rest, it also has lots of good memories for me. When we moved there from Cobar there was just Mum, Dad, little brother Ken and myself, all the rest of the clan had left home. It was such a contrast - the little retirment house with just 2 kids and the parents as against living in the big house that used to hold 9 children and the parents. Hey I just realised why my parents made such a radical move . . . it was to get the older kids to gather their belongings and move on !!!!!!!!! Think I have failed that test !! Time to call it quits for the night . . nigh nite - sleep well - sweet dreams luv Laurie
