Thanks Mary & Anna. Yes, I was thinking the same thing about Matthew Newton - he might pull his neck in a bit. .. All this negative publicity wouldn't be good for his image now. .. He should face up to it like a man. .. I do intend to bring a bottle of storberry wine with me to the Mudgee Melee - that was the purpose of the exercise lol. Wowee - only about 4 weeks to go lol Night all, see you in 2 days Love Jood |

Evening all Jood - have a safe trip and don't drink all the storberry wine - leave some for Mudgee! Did you hear that Matthew's contract with I think it's Nova radio has been cancelled - he was due to start today. That might make hime contemplate his actions a little. Bravo Lew for being a good sailor. I feel sick just thinking about it - I'm a shocker. Hope Petee improves soon or it will ruin his trip. I just remember going out whale watching for the day and knowing there was nothing but sea for miles and miles, and consequently nausea for the rest of the day - I've never spent such a misterable day. Have four girls arriving tomorrow morning staying until Wed afternoon. So it will be giggles, chat and videos full on ! They're all nice girls though - no trouble at all. Can't order up pizza as they are on a healthy diet crusade - and 2 of them are almost vegetarians so I'll have to cook up a big pot of somelthing healthy! Have had a miserable day - wretched back is really acting up. And it's been so good for a few weeks. All the gardening must have caught up with it. Butter! Dr. Tony - do you have any pills to take me to Happy Land? All you girls with your binoculars are a bit of a worry - and they talk about guys perving! I posted about 25 letters before Christmas chasing up members of Chris's family in NSW and the USA- I've had only 3 replies and none of them are the right family. So it's back to the drawing board. Thinking of you dear Queen and fluffy Duck. (((((hugz)))))) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ to everyone Love Anna |

Hello again everyone, First of all I'd just like to say a huge thankyou for all your messages and making me feel so welcome. Here goes.... So far all the information that I’ve found on Robert in Tasmania is from the Colonial Tasmanian Family Links Database. The chap I’m interested in is Robert Thorpe born c1836 Downham Market (this could also be down as Wimbothsam or Stow Bardolph) Norfolk, England. He’s on the 1841 & 1851 census still in Norfolk living with his family. I’ve drawn a bit of a blank on finding him on passenger/convict lists so have no idea when/what ship he travelled on (although I must say I’m a complete novice so probably haven’t looked in all the right places). Then I find him married to Mary Ann King in Kingston, Tasmania (a date of 1857 has been given but this is just going by the birth of the eldest child). Their children were born in either Hobart or Huon. Children are: THORPE M 1858 THORPE F 1860 THORPE ROBERT 1865 THORPE ALBERT 1868 THORPE MINNIE 1870 From the database I know that Minnie and Albert both married and had children. Robert died on 19th March 1873 in Hobart and was buried at Cornelian Bay Cemetery on 21st March 1873. I have been in touch with the cemetery and they were so helpful. There is no headstone but they were able to tell me which plot he was buried in and that he died in an accident at work. So there we go. I have so many questions! How do I find out when/how Robert got to Tasmania? If he’s not on any lists what is a possible explanation? Can I order certificates to corroborate the information from the Colonial Tasmanian Family Links Database based on the sketchy info it gives me? Is there somewhere I can look up BDM’s that will give me some more info? Historically, why did people move around so much…it looks as though Robert lived in Hobart, Houn and Kingston…was it just to do with finding work? Who is Mary Ann King? Did she come to Tasmania on a ship or was she born there after her parents settled there? And finally, how do I go about tracing my lineage forward? Confused? Me too!!!!!! Love and Best Wishes Claire |

Errrr Mary - Shazz ruly does get up earlier than you and even me - its just that she's a careful typist, aunt ya Shazz? Shazz, hope you did whatever you had to do to the laptop - was it 'turn it on' ??? .. *runs off to the left* Fanny - yes, the score is most important innit? lol Gawd that Williams is a solid tennis player. .. the other girl is making a few errors (tho I've only started watching). Those playbacks of whether the ball was in or out are fantastic. My sister said two West Oz boys invented that system for football originally, and now it is used all over the world in a lot of sports. Jood |

Joodles. There on page 14. mate.......2 pages worth. The 2nd page has a couple at Coober. Agree with you about the Flinders Ranges. I always drive up from Port Augusta...292kms to Glendambo...then 230 kms onto Coober Pedy..then 287kms to Kulgera ( first and last pub in the N.T...lol )and the best real Hamburger place in the world......then anuther.....392kms to Alice ( My Favourite Town ) Shazz. Layed back Coober...Some people say Oz is 100years behind the rest of the world. (Just the way i like it.....lol ) But Coober is 100 years behind Oz. Saw a burial up there once, and the coffin was made out of Tin Roofing...lol Better get some Tea cooking. Might have a cupla Bacon and Egg sarnie's ( with sauce ). Tony Oz..:>)) |

Thanks for that Fanny. I laughed when you said 'did you get anywhere with that fella' - but truly, I did know what you meant (just being naughty, I was) Tony - forgot to tell you 1) I couldn't see your pics on that site, only the Hampton Island ones. 2) I thought you knew wimmen took their binocs to the tennis match (like I did, all the way from Sydney, only to forget them on the day) - isn't it to see the score better or something? (tee hee) I saw Mrs Hopman at the tennis in Perth (sometimes she falls asleep - god bless her) Jood |

Evening. Sue ( Tassie ) Have sent you some Pickles. Hope they came through o'k. Just had a nice Email from a lady on the Tips Board ( who wants to kiss me!!!.... blush )....who's been searching for her G.G.G Grandad convict who came out in 1810....She couldnt work out how old he was when he arrived in the convict ship, or a possible birth year for him back in England. I found him on the 1828 Census of N.S.W aged 43 in Pittwater. So at least this will give a rough age on arrival in 1810 ( 17 to 18 ) and a rough birth date to start searching in the U.K ( 1785 ). Nice to have made someone happy....and i never pass up a freebie kiss....LOL ( not at my age...hee hee ) If freebies are good enough for Barb.....then there good enough for me...lol Barb just rang me from the Tennis. She has scored Mrs Hopmans Autograph, and also Nadal ( spelling ) so shes a happy bunny. Tony Oz...:>))) ...V.B time. |
