Arvo from a very warm Hot/Melbin....40.6 c Local news: Most of Melbourne and outer suburbs have been without power for 2 to 3 hrs. Major power grids have been shut down and affecting 30 to 40 km radius of Melbin City. Also, two major power cable have been destroyed by Victorian fires burning in the State. On excessive hot days in Vic. we draw excess power from N.S.W apparently. These were the two power cables that were destroyed by the fire. Local news and Sky news tells us its chaotic in Melb City, ( peak hr rush ) and major roads traffic lights out. People also stuck in work office lifts ( not good on a 40c day ) Peeps have been asked to turn off their Air Con's and major appliances to preserve power for others. Tennis has been abandoned because of heat. Hope everyones had a good day. Catcha tu-morrow Tony Oz...:>))) |

hi, glad to hear re HRH, has got good things planned and the traveller is travelling. Jill, was thinking 'bout your fab trip today and also mourning my inability to Mudgee, but anyway. I've had a nice day playing with my new friends and giving my new equipment a thrashing. delivered the lads off to cricket training, thinking about dinner and thats about it. great sunny day but that n/easterly keeps the temps down. and shaz, I struggle with this 'use the noggin' thing. thats why its taking so long. No f/h for me today. I'm going round to visit friend around the corner for an hour. I try and hover around the computer giving hints, but it doesn't always work. catch you later, love and kisses, yvette |

Hi everyone Glad Joodles is doing well. Cowra is a nice town, Daughter lived there for a little while. Nice lunch in the Rose Garden Cafe. They may not be doing to well now that Mackers has built next door.. Just took the OH to the Club across the road for lunch and it took a bit out of him, Think it may be the last time he can walk there, Mayhave to go by car next time. Gosh I hope this operation helps him, Last August we won a night in the Four Seasons Hotel and we though we better use it before it expires on the 12th Feb. As OH will be going into hospital on the 1st Feb we thought we better use it fast.So this Sat night we will be living it up in a posh hotel..We will have to get a cab there and back but what the hell we are saving $600 bucks by not having to pay..We get a breakfast for two to the value of $76 dollars the next morning thrown in.. The hotel donated this prize to help raise funds at the Woodbury Big do for the Autistic Assoc, which my son and daughter are involved in and helped organise. They got a surprise when our name was drawn out of the barrell..Our lovely littlest grandson is Autistic and they have spent heaps on therapy for him and it is doing wanders.. He is a real sweetie..He starts school this term. Hope Lew hasent sucumbed to the seasickness..and is enjoying her trip.. Heard on the Radio that Europe and Switzaland arnt having much snow this year and things are not looing good for their ski season.. Isnt that where Terry is going for his holiday..to ski,,,hope he is not dissapointed.. Big hugs for Queenie and Duckers.. Back to the cricket.. Love Mary xxxxx |

The Royal consort is taking her off to Montville again next Sunday for a couple of days R & R ( . . or as she so eliquently put it . . . peace, quiet, coffee and craft shops) Her says that apart from being foggy, weak, dry mouthed and tummy gurgling she is OK. Calculations say that will be over in a couple of more days. With only the one kemo treatment left at end of the month. Her also sends Love & Hugz luv Laurie |

Oooh Im back again for a minute. Vonny Shhhhhh that is my secret too, sometimes it works, if I hover around the puta to watch what they are doing or try and help them play the games :-))) they get sick of it and hop off heehee, doesnt always work though. Lara, must have missed something with Mike, I am picking up things are not the best with his knee op maybe??? Sening healing thoughts to him and a (((hug))) to you as it sounds like you could do with one. Well we are going to the swimming centre today, not the Basin where we usually go, it is too hot and the Basin will be full of id**ts, so we are going to the Windmill Hill Centre, have to pay there but it is safer for the kids, especially when there is a lot of people swimming and as it is 31 degrees already. Im even going to have a swim, well maybe just climb into pool and sit in a corner :-)))))))) Cheers Sue |

~~~~~~~~~~~ to all, Been up, shopping, changed a pair of shoes and back before the heat :) I went to FSW, Gungahlin. My girls said that the new warehouse near the airport doesn't really have cheaper prices and Gungahlin is much closer :) Love Tony's new letters Shazz - and aren't you smart with a new lappy :) Know what you mean Tassie - eldest son and Dil have been staying with us for the last week and his computer won't run his games so I have to share!!! Not used to that anymore so I hover.................................... :) He is having private x-rays today for his hands and shoulder and back. Will cost a fortune but they are not happy with the public hospital results. Otherwise he seems to be fully recovered mentally. He is still on sick leave till end of the month. Well - the trip plans for the first month seem to be firming up. Looks like Kangaroo Island will have to be a day trip - it is right in the middle of the regatta at Goolwa so I don't think John will want to budge :) just going for a look see - I'll be back later. Catz - that was stretching things a bit far :) Vonny |
Good Morning all . . . Cloudy day out on the Bay this morning, but a nice comfortable temp so far. There is only one giraffe reaching for the sky . . . I am amazed at the work over at Port Botany while we have been away. They are obviously building . . . more . . . bigger . . . giraffe . . . so far it is just the bright red platforms that I can see using the binoculars. Talking about using the binoculars . . . Had to get them out yesterday to check on the progress of the footballers doing pre season training on our beach. Good evening Wafflers . . . Firstly in case you look in Joodles, have a safe trip and enjoy your visit with sister Marie tomorrow . . . she is really looking forward to spending some time with you. I have sent you an sms as I have probably missed you on here. You just dont go leading my sister astray tomorrow night at the risel club. Be safe. Well done Tony, seems you have unearthed Claires family . . . Dont know what we are going to do with that cat . . . would you believe she has the nerve to call herself a princess on the other side !!! Cheek of her . . . I am going to be out at the archives of a Tuesday this year doing volunteer work so if anyone wants anything looked up give me a yell and I will see how I go. Just spent ages on the phone chatting to Paul, think he is missing his mumsy & dads just like they are missing him. We have just been working out a plan of attack for him to use to get some more Govt funding for a special little girl we know. They dont make it easy . . . but then we would complain if they did I suppose. Actually I think I should shut up about now because some of the policy is still in place from when I was involved with assisting to write it. Thanks for trying with the pics Tony . . . I will have a play with them again tomorrow. Lew didn't take her lappy with her . . . she said she would be using Petees as it is better than hers anyway and he gets to have to carry it . . . why am I not suprised ??? Poor Tiger seems to have had a terrible time, so Lara will have too. Thinking of you both Calling it a day . . . so catch you all tomorrow Hugs (()) for Trifley & Ducky and anyone else not feeling on top of things. Nigh nite - sleep well - sweet dreams luv Laurie |
Hi Claire. O'k......now we have something to work on. That was the easy part. Now to see if i can find how he got here, and when. Many of our Ancestors came to Australia, but did not nessecarily sail straight to the State they settled in... first up. My Grandad sailed into Fremantle W.A.....and then virtually straight away, moved to Victoria, some 4,000 kms away and thats where they settled. Will do a bit more digging. Have GR emailed you. Cheers. Tony Oz...:>)) |
