Evening Wattlers :-((((((( another day of temp in the 30's today it was 30 so a couple down on the last 2 days of 32 and 33. Took the kids rollerblading today, as they are finally bored of the computer, playstation and tv, couldnt think of anything worse in this heat but we did sit for 3 hours and watch them skate about, Tamika tried to get me to have a go, but its been a few years since I got on a pair of rollerskates, and now they are blades, dont know if it would be any harder to skate with, but I was a bit wary of doing damage to heart unit if I had a fall, which I more than likely would of. Davids 3 go home on Sunday night and David is back to work on Monday so it will be just me and the 2 girls, til they go back to school in the middle of Feb, might be able to get back into some fh if Im lucky. We are supposed to get rain the next couple of days so we will wait and see, might be like the thunderstorms we was supposed to get yesterday lol. Well Im going to find a good back scratching post as I've got an itchy back where I got slightly burnt at swimming the other day, I think I might be peeling, I've made some noise about needing a scratch but no one is offering, and of course its in a spot I cant reach. ~~~ to all~~~~ Cheers Sue |

Evening..:>)) Nuther warmish day and night in Melbum. All is quite darn sarf. Sarah is staying with sister for a week, and Barb is where Barb is, at this time of the year...Tennis. She rang to say that she watched her beloved Leynton Hewitt win another match, and told me she waved to me...lol After some cheese bickies and wine, she is off to watch Stosa.? and then another match ( mens ) Nadal...after that, and will be home sometime tu-morrow morning....:>))) And I'm left in peace, so everyones happy in Melb to-night.. There are 5 of them at the tennis. Her sister and 4 girlfriends, so there will be much yelling drinking and merryment. My last words to her were: Dont wake me when you come in...lol Hope everyones had a great day. Tony Oz...:>))) * Doin FH in peace * |

YES :) we are getting some rain!!! not a lot but has settled into a light drizzle. Wonderful for the weeds :) I'm not beining facetious - weeds are all we sort of have left in our lawn!!! All good Canberrans drive dirty cars and have dead front lawns - it shows how civic minded you are (said with a straight face) JA - the boat launch will be at 10am in Lotus Bay - that's the south-western side of Lake Burley near where the yatch club is - just after the roundabout near the British Embassy. Has cooled down a bit. Apparently the Snowy's got some rain yesterday so I hope it fell on the fires down South. haven't had tea yet - been too hot :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vonny |

Poor Vonny - what a headache Speaking of headaches, I've had one all day, and still have one. Greg arrived safely in Burra but no sign of ex, Cheri has been ringing cop shop after cop shop, AAMI, RAA, Jann has been ringing tow truck operator after tow truck operator and all the hospitals - still no news till 12noon today. Then, the call we were waiting for, he (ex) rang again, was in another town apparently, and waiting for a tow truck operator (can't believe it's taken so long) He did hurt himself, sore shoulder and hips - one helluva big kangaroo it seems. So Greg by this time is down in Clare, further south, and is very tired - he is having lunch now and then will make the approx 60km trip to where ex is (hopefully - unless tow truck operator has come and towed him to next town). I'm sure they will connect with each other soon. I said to Cheri a while ago, this is the first time the phone hasnt rung or she has been on it - for hours. We were very relieved to hear from ex, I can tell you. Wilson - glad you finally let me know. Yes same place as last time, and no table hopping this time please hahaha. Flakey - can you get time off? Would love a nanna nap right now, then we are going to do some family history (compare notes). Toodles Jood (did you say life was never dull with me Mary ??? hahaha) btw I diny delete nuffin |

Good morning Wafflers from Botany Bay. Lovely hazy sunny day but the sea breeze is about so keeping it cool. Hive of activity out there again today with many families on and in the water. The skyline at Port Botany is a little different today . . . the first of the new giraffes is in place with neck stretched to the heavens . . . and it is so much taller than the others. In total there are 5 stretched necks, and the pilot boats have been busy assisting ships in and out of the port all morning. It is hard to sleep in when its so hot isn't it JA . . hope you have a good day at work. Hope the jackhammers have finished for you Anna . . . not a good sound, particularly when it is coming straight into the house. Vonny, are your friends from Canada going on the trip with you ? Make a big deal of the launch on Sunday . . . imagine John will be like mother hen, after all the work that has gone into the restoration. Oh Jood . . . what a night for you all. Hope all turns out well. Poor Greg out driving the night. Thinking of you ! Just enjoy your time with Cheri and the girls - thats why you are there. Someone is doing some housework on both sides of the fence . . . deletions over there too. Off to the library so catch up with you all later Hope everyone is having a lovely day . . luv Laurie |

Hello to all ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` We had a bit of a drama last night. The kids got a phone call from ex who was driving Perth-Bendigo-Sydney in a 4WD with trailer full of furniture from his late mother's place (dropping off some stuff here before going home). A roo jumped out and totalled the front of his car, not drivable. He was miles and miles from anywhere in South Australia. The phone dropped out before they got too much info, he rang again, same thing happened. Obviously had no coins to ring again. (We all wondered why he didnt reverse call, but that's another story). I found a phone number for Greg to ring Police in one of the bigger towns, miles away from where he was. Some 3 hours later, Cheri & I were still up, and Greg was on his way over to SA to look for him, reload their 4WD and trailer, and get him to Bendigo at least. It was midnight before we got to bed, but I had a good sleep and was late getting up. I dont know if Cheri got any calls during the night. I wondered if something would happen this holiday - I thought maybe the bush fires would stop us going anywhere, or the power would be off or restricted (you probably heard about Victoria being without power for 3 hours the other day) - but I never dreamt G would have an accident. Ironically his late mother at 81 drove a Kombi Van from Perth to Sydney and flipped her van over somewhere in SA - went to hospital, came back to Van, continued to Sydney, Rockhampton in Qld, Mt Isa & Alice Springs in NT and then home to Perth!! Latest news, Greg 100 kms from Burra - no word from police or ex. so today we are just waiting around. Kids up before me? You're joking ! lol - one of them snuck up behind me and put her arms around me, I nearly jumped out of the chair! The computer is doing a Lara on me, and I've no idea why :(( Talk later, Love Jood |
