Gwenda, Im no expert, but why dont you set up both laptops side by side and compare the network settings (Adsl or cable or dialup whatever you have). Vinny - check where you go in Sth Oz, upwards, coz the Flinders Ranges has had heavy rain, and the Todd River has water at Alice Springs. Probably you could look up the condition of the roads in each state before you travel. Am back from my trip, but will tell you about it later tonight when Im on dial up - coz I really need to have a 15 minute nanny nap. Love Jood |

Afternoon All, I am happy to say the roo was removed late yesterday afternoon. I wa thankful for that, because it was very hot last night and I don't think we would have survived if we had had to closed the windows. Today started out very hot, but we had a bit of a cloud burst at lunch time and its cooled down a bit now. Mary, my glasses keep slipping and I have to put my head on one side, reminds me of Eric Morecombe or Morecambe and Wise. I only got them in October, would have thought they would last longer than that. I am hoping to get them fixed quickly. Jood, sending you mail. Wilson, isn't it possible to get that lap banding reversed when you have lost weight? Where is Tony? While the cats away. Maybe he is getting stuck into doing the odd perm or two. Would be odd. Nice chatting Tassie. Well we have a visitor so I must go Bye for now SuzyQ |

Afternoon Wattlers, Yes yvonne, Kangaroo Isl is expensive to get to. We took the car,van and 2 peeps and i think it cost us about the $500 mark. We loved it though and stayed for a week, would love to go back but the price is prohibitive. We met a lovely lady there who lives right on the beach edge, in the most cute little house, the penguins nest under her verander and they make a lot of noise. I can't understand weight loss surgery, it is sooo dangerous. I have a friend who had the old gastric stapling and she just can't eat at all. Yes she is thin, but can't/won't go out for a meal as she is embarrassed by the small amount she can eat, not even a entre size meal will fit in. she can't eat and drink at the same time or she vomits. Very sad, she wasn't even all that fat to begin with. There isn't anything that would convince me to have elective surgery, there are so many risks involved, and so many things that can go wrong. Ok, off the soap box. Hope i havn't offended anyone :-)). I guess i just see too much of the down sides with my work. It is a perfect day here, and oh has nearly finished digging up the back yard. Next rain had better go into the tank or i think he will give up, and i will have a big garden ornament (rain water tank). When the house was built the pipes were laid to drain not push water up into a tank, but hopfully it is right now. Have a great day all, Take Care Wilson |

Morning all, although it seems to have gotten away on me! Tassie - he has driven his (borrowed) car and is camping. Apparently he has a booklet telling him all the free camping sites!!! Sandra - could you please send your new email to me also? I thought I entered it but don't have it on my list. Well, Kangaroo Island is out of our itinary because of cost - almost $500 in the ferry for 4 people +car. I am now researching things to do around Victor Harbour instead :) FH will take back seat till the second half of the year for me! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vonny |

Morning Wattlers Well looks like a few of us are going to be getting into FH today. Now that my house is back to normal, and the girls are going to watch a couple of dvd's, I have sat myself at puta and are going to get into doing my tree, so I will be about for most the day. Vonny sounds like your son will have a good time to enjoy our lovely state, it is good he is on the East Coast, a lot of the visitors they normally get have seemed to be staying away after the fires, as visitor numbers are down, Although there are places that have been affected badly with the fires, there is still a lot of beautiful places not affected by the fires. What type of holiday is he doing? As in a fly drive, backpacking, riding a bike around? ~~~~ to all ~~~~ Cheers Sue |

Good morning Wattlers, Couldn't get net to work on lappy yesterday which explains my absence and have had to hook up the old lappy - don't ask me to explain why it works on one and not the other as I have no idea and son is no help Anyway thought I would spend a couple of hours doing FH - first time in yonks and guess what - I spent the whole day instead - lol Today I'm going to get stuck into some more ironing - have on video Scarlett - anyone remember that - was on telly a million years ago - the follow up to Gone With The Wind - have never had a chance to watch it so today is the day and I will iron at the same time - when it finishes so does the ironing for the day - think it runs about 4 hours but will zap the ads so a bit less. Won't be as good as GWTW cos Clark Gable isn't playing Rhett. Jood & Wilson - glad you had a good lunch and enjoy your morning tea next week. Lara - I now realise why detox wasn't so hard for me - I didn't have to give up coffee - never took it up to start with. Hope you're feeling better and I'm looking forward to seeing the new look Lara at Mudgee Mary - glad you have discovered the wonder of water - the most refreshing drink you can have Have a great day everyone (((((hugs))))) and ~~~~~~~~~~ to all Gwenda |

Morning all, sun is out, birds are chirping, hammers are banging (carpenters doing some building) - I expect everyone will be up in this household soon!!! I typed out a reply to Lyn A (NZ) and Patricia (Qld) last night, and then lost it. .. Dial up is sooo slow, I gave up and went to bed... Well its official, we are off to Maldon & Dunolly today coz I stamped my foot and said I wanted to go .. lol .. Should be a nice day. .. I'm going to call into Dunolly's bakehouse - Cheri wants to check out a cemetery at Eddington - and no doubt some antique shops in Maldon. .. I'm looking forward to seeing some of these town, and you never know, we might just find a gold nugget in the middle of the road - NO?? - oh well, Wilson & I are going to have another non-stop conversation at morning or afternoon tea one day next week!!! Had a nice swim, or rather, dunk in the pool yesterday, - dear little girls kept bombing me - but it was fun! .. The nights get very cool here (or is it just me) - even tho the days are warming up again. .. I took a jumper and jerkin to Perth and didn't use them, should have bought them here instead. Have a great day all. Love Jood |

Ooooh Vonny, you have the ebay bug, like I once had, bought stacks, then I started selling - keeps you pretty busy. .. Haven't done it for a while though. Wilson, your pic came out really really nice - mine was just me (but then I dont like just me) - and that stupid yellow scarf round my neck did nothing I tell you ! ... lol The scarf, fellow wattlers, was one of the many of my ex mother in laws that arrived here with ex the other day - it was just a plain yellow chiffon square, but looked suspiciously like little yellow dots here and there like wattle, so I was gonna wear it for the occasion, only I didn't look in the mirror (shock horror) before hand. .. I will bring it to Mudgee. Have to get the pics from one pc to another before I can email them to everyone. .. Hooray for memory sticks. Mary, have conned dau. to taking me to Maldon, Dunolly and back to Bendigo tomorrow. .. Almost had to stamp my foot, but she's agreed to now. .. Her cleaner comes on Wednesday, so we have to tidy up and clean everything away - I know, I know - women are like that !!!!! Turned out to be hot this afternoon, had a swim with the girls who delighted in bombing me. .. The evening is quite cool, so shouldn't have a problem sleeping. See y'all tomorrow Love Jood |

So nice of you to count our replies for us, Catty dear. Such a thoughtful Cat. :) *keeping a straight face here with much effort* Yvette, I'll google the maps when my new download starts on the 25th. So far I'm having fun with google earth though. Did I tell you I bought something else on eBay today? Think I've unleashed a monster within :) A car charger for my phone. I tramped the shops this morning to no avail - they stopped stocking them 6 mths ago. Came home and found them on eBay! Tassie - son is there for 3 weeks. He is coming down the east coast at the moment. ~~~~~~~~~~~ to all. Vonny |

Evening All, Yep... we did change tables a couple of times and Jood decided her seat wasn't quite right once lol. Was lovely though, we certainly yakked up a storm. Still didn't run out of things to say, and even managed to talk family history too hehe. Jood, you can keep the photo to yourself you know lol, Shrink mine to a very small postage stamp too please lol. I thought i took a great picture of you....think your photo taking skills are not up to scratch though, i am sure i look better than THAT! Hope everyone is well or on the mend. Take Care Wilson |
