Mornin' everyone. Did you all survive your Oz Day festivities? Tony...it sounds as if you had a wonderful day. Family gathered around the BBQ...true Oz fashion. Glad to see you have rain. When your're finished with it can you send it up here? Our dams could do with a bit. Vonny...enjoy your party in Sid den knee. You mentioned the family Welch. I have a twig on my tree by that name, also from Lancashire. I'll have a look see if we're 'lated. Wouldn't that be fun? Big happy hugz to all the other Wattlers. I'm off to re-pot a plant. See ya. love Trifley X |

Morning Mary...:>)) Best i can do is only ever offer possibilities. Yes, it could be her. But i never say 100%... With a surname like WELCH you are better off purchasing the marriage cert. to be sure. WELCH can be WELCHE,WELSH,WALSH,WALSHE and even seen it as WILCH on Index's. Bacon is crispy, and eggs are sunny side up....:>))) Pouring with rain in Melbum. Tony Oz...:>)) |

Morning all - going to be a hot one here too. I'm heading up to Sidley today. Family is celebrating my sister's 50th tonight, then I will see my aunt tomorrow - only surviving rellie of that generation - and home again tomorrow evening. Himself is staying home and working on the boat :) I'm hoping to talk LOTS of family history with my aunt. Was trying to find my maternal great grandmother yesterday but no luck. So if someone is bored today.................... :) Alice Welch - c1862 - 1946 (only just started researching so haven't bought death cert) married Charles Millar Mulholland in 1882. I suspect she came out to Oz with her parents Thomas and Charlotte? I tried to find her on Ancestry yesterday but I am not too good navigating around it yet. Have a good day all and i'll catch you tomorrow evening. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vonny |

We just had a quiet night having a couple or 3 Jim Beams and chatting to another GR member on the puta who is from UK, he asked me if we (Tassie's) celebrated on the 6th Feb like the ozzies do/did yesterday :-0. I did let him know that we was ozzies not kiwis :-)))))))))))). But a nicer bloke would be hard to find, ooops apart from you Tony :-) Cheers Sue |

Evening Wattlers. A great day was had by all in Melb. Barbie was lit at 6:30pm ( when the flies went to bed ) and the decking was full with laughter and chatter. We reminissed about when my girls were little, and they recalled certain times in there lives as teenagers in the 80s and how i was so strict. Teena ( the eldest ) now 34 years old, told me that she was to scared to bring boys home when she was 16 because i would give them the evil eye.....lol But a great day as always, and at 9:00pm we all walked to the Council gardens ( two blocks away ) and the band was rockin & a reelin. Wilbure Wilde,Frankie J Holden, Russell Morris all belted out familiar 60s and 70s songs on stage and about 500 - 600 baby boomers were bopping to the rythme on the lawns surrounding the stage At 9:45 when it was dark, the fireworks display had the grandkids screaming with delight, as sky rocket after sky rocket lit up the night sky for about half an hour, and my grandaughter sat on my shoulders, ripping whats left of my hair out, as the sky rockets exploded.....lol We all came back and sat on the decking for Coffee and Xmas cake, and the kids with there Frog jelly moulds that granma Barb had made for them, and even though my decking is the size of a small house, i realised today that there will be a decking extention coming up in the near future, as my family is growing by the year Now its time for a Poppy and Nanna nap, cos we is knackered. Hope you all had a great Australia Day. Tony Oz.....:>))) |

Evening all Hope everyone had a lovely Australia Day. We were at the early morning celebrations - very foggy and even a bit of rain so they couldn't release the doves and they couldn't have the old planes fly over but no one cared cause the rain was great! Then visited various rellies for the remainder of the day so it was just beaut. See you all tomorrow. X Anna |

SuzyQ.....I've found out how to get rid of that bl***y Internet Explorer 7. You go into your Add/Remove programme in your control panel. Scroll down to where it say 'Windows Explorer 7' and hit 'Remove'. It will then take it off and your puta will revert to the previous Explorer. I've just done it and noticed a vast improvement in the speed. I'll email you in case you don't get on here for a while. Hugz Trifley X |

Yes suzy I did but its so small cant read it and havent figured out how to get it so I can read it. I've got new glasses too and much to familys disgust have gone back to big ones. I hated being able to see over the top of them G D's feel I've let the side down. Tough. We've had a very quiet day but I've got a lovely roast leg of Mutton in the oven just cooking slowly. Smells georgeous. Life neally got a bit interesting earlier, I caught my foot on the stepladder I use to rest my foot on while talking to you lot and managed to gracefully???? pirouette myself round far enogh to fall on the bed. AND before anyone asks why a stepladder it's because the second step is just the right height so there!I I've only got a little flag so stuck it in the flowerpot near the front door and its been bravely blowing in the wind all day. Have got a few toots from passing cars and the noongar family next door even wished me a good Australia day so feel I've done my bit. Any of you girls nurses or used to be's? I was ,and was a volunteer at the hospice for 14years till himself got sick and it was a bit too close to home but I agree with Tony, Men are the biggest sooks ever. Mind you I still think theyre easier to nurse. You can bully them into doing what you want, husbands excepted ,but if you tried the same tactics on women they'd report you as soon as look at you. Mostly anyhow.I loved my time at hospice. Theres no time there to waste making a fuss, what you see is what you get and I heard all sorts of things they wouldn't tell their family members.Sorry, didn't mean to go into all that bnut now you know where my heart is in this big wide world. |

Happy Australia Day my Wattle friends. I hope that you are all enjoying the day. We are just relaxing at home. The last 2 days we have been out. On Wednesday I went to get my glasses fixed. You will be please to know that they they are now sitting squarely on my face not lopsided any more. We then had a picnic lunch on the Southport spit, followed by the weekly shopping. Naturally I forgot to get the lotto, so I had to go out yesterday morning for that very important task. At the same time I got a duckling for Neville's birthday dinner on Saturday. Well we thern decided to go out the Maroon dam, so packed up the barbie, snags eggs bacon etc and had a very quiet time at a very dry dam. That is until the storm came. It teamed down, so heavy that it shook the car. I must say the drive home was much cooler and the air was much fresher. A couple of questions. Some one mentioned that installing the new Internet Explorer had slowed down their puta. That must be what has happened to mine. I do like the new one, but I hate it being slow, so how do I go back to the old one? Google Earth? I downloaded it, supposedly the latest version, but the view of my house is at least 3 years old. How do I get up to the minute pictures? Do I have to pay for it? Lara, its good that you seem to be back to your normal self. I wish I was as strong as you when it comes to loosing weight. Neville and I are going to try the CSIRO diet, I have done a similar one before, which was easy for me and it worked. Do you pray at the feet of your Barb every night Tony? Well you should, but then I bet you think you are the best prize of all. LOL Trifley, glad you enjoyed your little holiday, I am sure it would have been much cooler up there. It is very hot again today, the humidity is shocking. Merle, did you get the Wattle List? Everyone else, hope you are all well. It won't be long before the good Dr is back, she will keep us entertained for weeks. I am looking forward to all the pickles. Well, I am just going for a cooling glass of iced water. Will look in later Luv SuzyQ |

Afternooon Wattlers on this lovely day. Mum and Dad have not long left, we had a good barbie and they was quite impresed with our purchase, only barbie they have ever owned, and still do it a small 3 legged portable one, but it does the job and has been everwhere with them. We was treated to a special dessert, Mum did a home made Cheesecake and bought with them it was beeeaaaauuutifulllll :-))))))) David is still scratching about on the roof. removing to rust before painting. Eldest daughter asked if this is what everyone does on Australia Day ......... Cleans house as I was running around making sure place was spic and span for the parents, and David cleaning the roof lol Couldnt help myself but I had to have a giggle :-)))))) Youngest wasnt too impressed as she was woken (after 9.30am) by what she thought was next door sawing wood, then I told her it was David on the roof hee hee. I wanted her out of bed anyway so I could change the sheets on her bed :-) Lara glad you are feeling a bit better and stick to it, you will be better for it, I know it sounds a long time but just forget about the weeks and just focus on each day. I think it took me about 5 months to get where I did. I wont tell you I have put on a couple of kg's :-( have to start drinking water and walking again, now that chrissy and holidays are over with. Cheers Sue |
