Welcome home Ice Princess - Now hurry up and spill your guts - and I don't mean throw up! Mary - best wishes for John - I sure hope this will get to the bottom of his problems. Thanks for the pickles Laurie - it looks like a wonderful time was had by all. Where exactly did you go??? Trifley - you have reached the final count down. Will be thinking of you dear Queen. Are you crossing off the days until Mudgee? There will sure be some celebrating to do. Katherine goes back to school tomorrow - only a half a day. She has a group interview with Woolworths tomorrow afternoon for a casual job so keep your fingers crossed for her. They are opening a brand new store near us. Tassie - what did your daughter have to do when she went for the group interview for her job? Katherine has been told it will take an hour and a half! No cricket, no tennis today - I'm going through withdrawal symptoms! At least NZ gave the ozzies a scare with the cricket last night. I ran a splinter under the full length of my fingernail this morning - ouch! Tried and tried and couldn't get the wretched thing out - and it hurt like mad! Finally Chris went to the chemist and got a special pair of splinter tweezers - we did have some but you know the old story. Some one has obviously used them and not put them back in the first aid kit. Anyhow, Chris eventually got it out and it came out in one piece. I was sure it would break off. I'll probably get tetanus! Catch you all later when the Ice Princess reports in. XX Anna |

Morning Wattlers, beautiful day in Melb, just right for some gardening. I have a few plants that have not survived the lack of water so the plan for this arvo is to get then out and replaced with something a bit hardier. Kate and friend are around for dinner tonight , roast lamb has been requested. You can tell as many tales as you like, I love meat and I wont be changing. Sounds like Shaz, Lyn and the printheth had a great weekend, thanks for the pics Loz. Dr Lew, have the fingers thawed enough to use the keyboard yet? Did Wattie behave himself or did you have to medicate him? I'm sure there are many stories to be told..... ~~~~to all the wattlers, back later Flakey |

Good morning Wattlers, A lovely day here on Botany Bay. The sun is out - but there is a bit of cloud cover, and a lovely sea breeze to keep the temp down. There are only two giraffe necks stretched to the heavens, a ship is just arriving in the heads, there are several small boats out in the channel looking for the catch of the day (bad luck . . . we ate it on Sunday night!) Lots of peeps out walking on the beach and a few little folks swimming and playing on the sand. Sue the closure at terminal 2 last night was some guy ran through and didn't go through the security checks so they emptied the terminal and the planes that were ready to take off . . . still didn't find him the looney !!! happened about 4 hours after our Lew was due to arrive so she should have been long gone. We had police cars screaming past in great convoys . . . TLR was out there with the binoculars trying to figure out what was going on . . . teehee nosey parker that he is . . . (BTW, you should have got the pics . . . I sent them late last night) Sounds like you had a good weekend too Jood . . . a lovely family weekend. Hope all is well when John goes to specialist this morning Mary, and everything goes ahead with op as planned. Wow Vonny, thats great to get some more info . . . and pickles !!! Think I will lay off joining in the tales of slaughter time . . . told some on the weekend, but still dinny turn them off the lamb chops!! teeheee Big waves to Yvette . . . not the same without your little messages . . . hope the puter gets fixed real soon. I am working again tomorrow out at the NSW Records Office . . . will be researching in the arvo if anyone wants anything looked up. Just got to take the sheets down and hang them on the line so be back later when I have some more of the dreaded out of the way. Hope your all having a lovely Monday . . . luv Laurie |

Morning Wattlers Laurie sounds like you had the best weekend you could wish for, look forward to the pics. Lew are you all thawed out yet? Enough to send pics and to us and tell us of your adventure :-) Jood funny thing when you mentioned about the animal you saw I thought of a Tassie Tiger, then I wasnt sure if they are still about on the mainland, then when Mary mentioned it I though well you never know. I had an experience many years ago when I was young. We was travelling in Dad's car going for a drive and we had taken a wrong turn, it was way out in the bush on the side of the Western Tiers, we had wooden bridges with ferns growing up in the middle of them, so the road was not used very often. Up the track a way we saw this animal wander across the road, it was big like a dog, possibly a bit taller than a labrador but not as bulky, it didnt walk like a dog, it more slinked across the road, more like a cat if that makes sense. We believe it could be, and most likely was a Tassie Tiger. A lot of people are also sceptical here about if the Tiger is still alive, but a lot also believe it is still about. Merle nice it was nice chatting through messages last night, it would be good when we get around to having our own meet wont it :-)))))) Oooh I just heard on the news on the radio that part of Sydney airport went into lookdown late yesterday, because one of the passengers had something suspicious in their hand luggage Lew??????????????? Cheers Sue |

Morning all, Was interested in what you had to say about this strange animal Mary. Wished we could have zoomed in on it with binoculars. I did take a pic, but it was too far away. I did see it pounce on something. Have a great day all. Glad you are up and running again Jude DIY and Trifley. Oh - and congratulations to the Wattlers on making 20000. Love Jood |

Welcome back Jood,, Glad you had a good time... That funny animal you saw is sighted by many people all around Vic, but nobody gets close enough to take a pick..John saw one in Tarnagulla and thought it was a Thylacine but they are supposed to br extinct here on the mainland..As soon as he mentioned it to some of the locals around Dunolly they all said they had seen a strange animal and didn't know what it was. One day they will find out... Laurie sent me the poem so I managed to send it off to uncle for Australia Day..Cant let him forget his Aussie Roots..Have a rest and see ya tomorrow.. Merle No more of you gruesome tales please or you will turn me into a vege....lol ,,, You and Tony are a good pair...pmsl...I love rabbit by the way... I might as well turn you all off. We had a young visitor at the farm once who insisted on Watching himself kill the sheep. He lasted 10seconds after the first cut and didnt eat lamb again for nearly 15 years, lol Also our niece wanted to watch himself set the rabbit traps so off we went. That was the last time she ate rabbit unless we could kid her that it was chicken!! She lived with us for two years and never rumbled to the truth lol, enjoy your supper says she sniggering as she wanders off the thread night all Love and hugz to anyone who wants one. Me |

I'm home Mary :( - well Bendigo. Had a great time in Tower Hill, freezing down there, and the wind howled around the house (quite normal I'm told). Went down into the volcano, but just for a drive around. Saw a strange critter in the distance - wasn't a dog, wasn't a dingo, maybe a fox, but wrong colour and huuuuuge. It was too far away to work out what it was, but must have been crossed with another animal. Saw some koalas, one was frantically grabbing for leaves on an almost empty tree. I held up a branch with fresh eucalyptus leaves but he couldn't reach it, so I put it in the fork of the tree for later. Went to the Warnambool markets in the morning, bought the usual fig jam, yum! Great time. Did the shops in Port Fairy yesterday. Kids go back to school on Tuesday, and I'll be heading home via Lockhart, gotta meet a rellie on Dad's side for the first time, she has a farm. Mary – copy and paste that poem (it’s on page 7) – you can’t cut & paste on Genes, but you CAN copy and paste Vonny when you look at GR trees, you click on the male or female parent, and it jumps up to the next generation. Gwenda, I agree, if I think of a piggy when I’m eating pork, - well I just don’t think of it!!! They are two different things as far as I am concerned – one is a piggy and one is pork that I eat, and never the twaint shall meat (oops) meet!!! Oh boy, am I tired - maybe its the few glasses of Wolf Blasse dry white wine - nice drop! Your aussie day sounded just great Tony. Wish I had family altogether like that. You are very lucky. Tony we passed the TH cemetery - but didn't stop (I had no choice, honest) - I must say it was an impressive tidy looking cemetery tho, with alll headstones intact. ps. the rellies didn't wave back! See yáll tomorra Love Jood (Fanny hope poss gets that poota working soon, let me know when, and ask me for any pics or addresses you need) |

I'm home :) AND guess what????????????????? I got pickles ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One of Alice, one of Charles Millar Mulholland and other assorted rellies AND one of them is still alive - in her ninetys - so I'm going to write a letter. My Aunty reckons she will know the history of the Welch family - from out Blacktown way apparently. *does a dance around the computer* Thank you soooooo much Tony and Mary - I've copied the info but nowhere near knowing enough to choose yet. But great Queen - Tony said that Welsh was another spelling, so I won't give up hope of being related to Royalty yet :) I'm buttered and about to expire after the drive - not as young as I used to be pppppp - so I'll see you all tomorrow. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ to all Vonny |
