Morning Wattlers, I had big plans of being first on here this morning to wish our Ducky a great birthday....have a 'me' day Ducky....enjoy but Mr Bracks had other ideas...if he turns the power off for a few hours he might manage to save some power and wreck everyones day...pppppp Going to be warm today,so will be off to do the groceries early and stay out of the heat. For all those who asked...my first day of retirement was spent, running to banks, motor reg, on phone to insurance co,and starting the mammoth effort of cleaning the study and fitting all my office stuff in. Think I'll need to go back to work for a rest if this keeps up...lol I think I spent most of the day on the phone, even had a call from Royalty. Keep cool everyone...back later Flakey |

Evening Wattlers, Mary - glad to hear John's op went okay, let's hope it has done the trick Jill - have a great holiday - obviously no room for anyone else in your suitcase so we'll just have to hang out for your diary. Trifley - hope you're back with us asap Jood - safe travelling and enjoy your meet with Wilson Tassie - have a good weekend - take care on the roads too Question for Queenslanders - when you sign up for electricity can you arrange a direct debit on a fortnightly basis so that the bill isn't a huge shock when it comes in and if you can, can you also just be paying the set amount and not clearing the whole bill each quarter - hope that's as clear as mud. In the ACT it was called 'set and forget' when we first signed up and now they average out our fortnightly payments over the previous 12 months. Reason I'm asking is daughter is moving to Cairns next Friday and will need to find somewhere to live so apart from rent she'll also be up for utilities and I'm hoping she can spread her expenses out a bit. Back to the ironing, catchya later Gwenda |

Evening....:>)) Mary. Nice to hear that John's op went o'k. I guess, its only a matter of time to see if there is improvement. Best wishes to you both. Well, we is all booked into Mudgee...( Country Comfort resort ) after looking about at various places to stay. We both ummm'd and aaaaar'd about Flying up to Sydley then driving....or Flying to Cannedbra, and then driving.....but have now decided to drive up after much discussion. approx 831km from where we live, so should only take us an hr or two, if i let Barb drive.....:>)))).. ( jus jokin ) Have done me homework, and if i am correct, its 10hrs 30 min drive......so we will leave Melbum about 4:00am on the Friday morn, and hopefully arrive about 3:00 pm We both enjoy driving, and will enjoy the scenery on the way up. Barb wants to stop at Sheparton warehouse on the way home..???? mumbled something about cheap tinned food and bar-codes. We are both looking forward to meeting peeps we haven't yet met. I only hope Loz has explained...that no one is to mention anything about competions to Barb, as it gets her blood pressure up, and i have to give her smelling salts. Also, please dont leave any tinned food lying about, ( please remove all labels )....thanks. Tony x.....:>)))))) Hz. We will be coming through Albury about 7:00am so wack the kettle on polly...hee hee Tony Oz.....:>))) * watchin the cricket * C'mon Ozzies |

Here is whom you asked for, although spelt as WELSH on both A.V.R.I and Vic. Pioneer Index. If your researching WELCH, then best to also check WELSH and WELSHE. They are in Excell Spredsheet, standard on most puters. If you need Marriages and Deaths...let me know. This appears to be the one you asked for.( but spelt WELSH on A.V.R.I....Index....and also on Vic.Pioneer Index ) There is no WELCH 1865 for Benalla on Index. One only. Hey Anna I may have to take those teabags out, my case is so heavy, them and all the tins and packets of goodies I'm taking with me for my D. I rang up my travel agent to find out what we can take with us in our hand luggage, as we have a three hour stop on the way over in Singapore we thought we'd have a shower, so I wanted to check we could have liquids etc., seems it'll be okay going but coming back the rules are a bit more stricter like all liquids have to be in clear 100ml bottles and carried within a litre size cliplock plastic bag so they can be scanned, anybody know if thats true or not? Happy Birthday to you for tomorow Ducky just in case I don't pop in, I'm having the family and some friends round for lunch so I might be busy. luv Jillx |

Oh dear - I have been naughty, very naughty! I have been chasing BDM's for Welch!! Tony, pretty please could you look up Robert Welch born 1865 Benalla, Vic for me please? Who were his parents? I think I have found two possible rellies here on Genes - have sent them emails - hope they respond! One of them had the above name - it is an outside shot as all the rest are NSW. Thinking of you Mary and John. Also to all travelling or preparing to travel - safety for all. Oh - I'm going to get into trouble, better go and get some OTHER stuff done :) pmsl. We are going out tonight! Vonny |

Morning Queenslanders, afternoon to the rest I'm a bit late but .....thinking of John - hope all goes well Mary. Have a great holiday Jill - you didn't get back to me over my offer to help carry your tea bags! Tassy - have a great weekend - drive safely and have fun. Flakey - watcha doing? Coffee? Puter?? Walking around just thinking about all the things you can do at your leisure?? Queen - it's almost over - hang in there. Ducks - have you started packing yet? Tony - loved the letter. I went through some of my old letters from teenage years when I was cleaning out the garage cupboards. They were fascinating. There was a 4 page letter from a girlfriend - we were 13 - and in the envelope was another page - Page 5 and 6 - which she had added after her mother had censored the contents of the other 4 pages! It had a blow by blow account of her meeting with the boy of her dreams!! And we think our kids are sneaky!! My day is all kaput - managed to spend 3 hours in the garden this morning - unplanned - just happened but most enjoyable. Pruning, replanting, set up a couple more hanging baskets. Watched the birds in the bird bath and the feeder. Life is good. Catch you all later XX Anna |

Morning All, well whats left of it :-) Mary thinking of you and John today, hoping everything goes well. Jood hope you have a nice few days before getting home and a meet with Wilson by the sounds of it. Tony loved the letter, it is funny what children think is the important things in life. Duckers I know you are looking in and not posting so I will take this chance to wish you Happy Birthday for tomorrow. I probably wont be online tomorrow if I am it will be late tomorrow. I have been up early this morningn making sure all my h*******k has been done and my bags are all packed briefcase has all I need in it and also a thingy to pick locks incase we need one lol. We are off to the South of the state today for a get together meal tonight then a few meetings tomorrow before we return late afternoon, just hope we can get back over the border and the gate is not locked to stop us from geting home :-))))))) It is a warm day today and expecting the same tomorrow temps of about 28, at least we have a biiiiig bus with air con so that is good, it is easy to drive, if there is no wind as it is pretty high and takes all your time keeping on the road when it is windy, its only a 13 seater, but very bulky. Judy congrats on the retirement, dont think I have already congratulated you and Roy. Ok had better go and pick up daughter, who slept at friend and then, ex stepmum in law, who is coming to Hobart too, then it will be nearly time to go pick up bus and all the other passengers, and then it will be .............. The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round, alll the way to Hobart :-(((((((( Geez Im glad you cant hear me singing, just imagine what its like when there are 8 in the bus singing that :-0 Cheers Sue |

Good Morning Wattlers ! Hows the first day of the best of your life Flakes ??? Another overcast day on Botany Bay - we have only had a couple of light showers over the last couple of days . . . think all the lovely rain is going out to sea! There are 4 giraffes with stretched necks . . and they seem to be doing a lot of work on the docks building new giraffes. The pilot boats have just assisted a tanker to moor off Kernell - and there is a work boat out working on one of the navigation lights. They have built a platform around the light - so must be a major overhaul. Airport is busy, there must have been a delay earlier as there are now 7 large planes lined up on the runnway into the bay - waiting to take off. Mary, you and John are in my thoughts and prayers . . . you make sure you take care of yourself and DONT DO STRESS !!! Aye J'roo . . . all excited girl . . . I am for you !! Have a wonderful time and looking forward to the journal . . . xo Donna, hope things keep improveing for you . . . as you said at least it is better than before the op - little consolation when you are in pain - but you have the knowledge that at least it will keep improveing. I think Shaz had a really big stress test yesterday . . . they should have thrown a monitor on her as she was throwing the little hissy fit . . . teeheee !! Poor Lara . . . When that Tiger gets back on his feet he is going to owe you big time . . . start planning girl . . . What wonderful news about Jamie. You will probably find his problem with the carer is because he had his accident in Vic, sadly it seems to always be a problem sorting out between different departments let alone two states. Normally, a person who gets compensation has the services they need funded thru their compensation . . and the system doesn't appear to be very smooth for Health depts to get that money back after compensation is granted hence their reluctance to be generous. OK Gramps tell us about Britney and Deans first days at school . . . did they learn how to read and write ?? I will never forget Glen's first day at school . . . I got a few questions answered, then he said 'Mum, you said you went to Grade 1 . . . so why you asking me all these questions, dont you amember anything about it ?' It took him 4 weeks at big school to outgrow his'car' the cardboard box cut out that he drove to preschool everyday . . . then mum had to carry it home and take it back down when she picked him up so he could drive home. He had to drive home, he couldn't walk cause his legs hurt. What I can electrocute myself after Mudgee can I Anna ????? Teeheeeeeee . . . Nah I came clean to TLR about the dryer . . . and he just shook his head . . . gathered up all the bits and said he would come home early this afternoon and put it back together . . but I am guessing that wont happen and he will have a look at it tomorrow !!! (then we may have to go buy a new one . . . teeheee) Safe travelling to Jood . . . have a lovely time catching up with the rellie . . . and Wilson by the sound of things. Hugs to all not feeling the best . . . Enjoy today . . . 2nd of Feb 2007 . . . the only one EVER !!! (day before the Duckers birfdy) luv Laurie xoxo |
