Don't worry Gwenda - they always return, sooner of later!! it is a long way away, though. First son left for Canada when he was 19 - and he didn't actually really come home till 4 years ago. Then he bought a wife with him and lived with us for 3 1/2 years!!!! LOL Oh Mary - how sad. We had to have our youngest son's dog put to sleep because of cancer, while he was away in Albury at Uni!! Sooooo hard. So glad John is better - just a rest from the pain would be helpful for him. Spent some time doing FH today, looking for elusive Welch's on shipping lists. There are LOTS of them :( I think I will have to stop FH till after our trip now - so much to organise. But I have a nice tidy, clear desk - I got all the paper work filed :) Hope you all had great days too. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Vonny |

Aaaaawwwwwww Mary - sorry to hear about the dog - got tears in my eyes thinking of the family's pain - been there with a German Shepherd back in Alice - still miss that dog and we've been in Canberra 14 years so must be 16 years or more. Glad John is going so well - let's hope he can go home on Wednesday to save you some travelling. Nice cool breeze blowing here but house is still warm. Daughter has her goods and chattels all packed for Dave to drive up to Cairns on Tuesday. Just emailed an estate agent about a rental property - hope she can get it - fully furnished and a pool near the CBD. Hard to believe she is finally leaving home - just bad luck it is sooooooooo far tho. Time for another meal so I'd better get to the kitchen Gwenda |

Hi everyone Lovely day here today and the sun is shining.. Saw the OH today and he is improving quickly.. I hope he will be home by next Wednesday as things are looking up healing wise..Still a bit of pain but gets painkillers to fix that..Hating the driving but cant help that..Physio is pleased with him and so is the Doc, Had some sad news from the daughter in Canberra today and nearly had a weep,, They had a beautiful big lovely Newfoundland dog who loved everyone and was as gentle as anything,,Last week he could not stand up and so they took him to the vet and he said he had a huge cancer of the bone in his hip and the only thing to do was put him out of his misery..He said take him home and spend a few days with him and then bring him back,,They all went and sat with him on the floor bawling their eyes out as the vet put him to sleep ..I think they only stopped crying yesterday,, he was one beautiful dog.. Trifle Hows the fog...Is it a London smoggy one or a good old blue mountains mist..Big hugs oh beautiful queen... Jood Are you home yet.. Tassie Hows the hangover from you days away...lol Sorry I haven't had much time to read back far so will try and do that later.. Jill Have a lovely trip.. Yvette Where are you.. Ducky Cuddle,,, Back later Love Mary xxxx |

Happy Sunday one and all, A lovely breeze has sprung up from some where to cool things down a bit. Mary, I hope John is feeling better and home soon. Lara, how are you, no don't turn sideways I can't see you. Hope Tiger is being a good boy. I know how you feel about Billy, we are the same with our Lucy, and now Sophie the cat. We are thinking of getting a campervan so that we can get a holiday. We normally have to find some where that we can take Lucy. Wouldn't consider an overseas trip, but a wedding, well that's different. Maybe you can get some one to live in, I think there are agencies that can arrange it for you. Our nieghbour has a great guy who moves in while you are away, he even does your washing and ironing for you. He is very much in demand. Merle hope today is a good day for you both, are you any where near the fires? Yvette, come back. You too Ducky. Trifley, How are you today, rest up for tomorrow and save room for a couple of Martoonies. Do you have any plans? Don't forget to take pickles of the har growth. Flakey, I think you should take a couple of weeks off before you get stuck into any jobs. You now have all the time you want. Laurie, hope that you are feeling better today. Well, going for a big cold drink, hope every one that I didn't mention is okay. Luv SuzyQ |

Afternoon Wattlers and a special hug for all those not feeling the best. It's blasted hot here in Mudgee and this does not make for a happy Ice Princess, pmsl. Tony, ouch!!! Poor Britney, that must really hurt. Hope you had a nice birthday dinner, Duck. What'd you have? Just had contact with a distant cousin, so I'm off to do some more research. Bye for now HRH Dr Ice Princess |

Hi to all, Just had a visit from JA, who's hubby has done a lovely job of the pictures he took of the Boat launching :) Tony - sounds like grandpa and grandma had more trauma than Britney! So glad she is ok this morning - how long does the 'toothpaste' work for? Thinking of you and John, Mary and a big (((HUG))) coming. A hot day today and going to get hotter I expect. Trying to keep a few plants alive using shower water but it is an uphill battle. off to cruise the boards. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vonny |

Good morning...:>)) Forecast is for another warm day in Melb. Hi Sandra. Have a nice day mate. Laurie.Hope your feeling a bit better today. Gwenda. Sorry bout putting you off ya brecky..lol Mary.Hope John is feeling a bit better today, and you are taking care of yourself too. Running backwards and forwards to hospital can tire people out. Lara. Hope Mike is also on the mend, and is stilll in the land of the living....lol Merle. Best wishes to you and himself, and hope you are keeping well also. Britney woke up this morning and gobbled down a stack of pancakes with syrup, and i was surprised that there was no mention of the traumatic night at hospital. The Doc. was impressed with her last night, as she lay on the trolley while he sewed her toes. There was no injection to deaden the toes, and i was amazed at the proceeder thay use these days. He squeezed a tube, of what looked like toothpaste.? in a big blob just above the toes, where they join to the foot area. Then said he would be back in 30 min to stich, as the toothpaste cream was the anasthetic. Sarah kept Britney amused, and Barb and i watched the doc do his craft with precision. She didnt feel a thing...? So i guess there is such a thing as Magic cream. Wonders never cease. Best wishes to all who are not 100% Av a good un. Tony Oz...:>))) |

Good Morning Wattlers, Laurie hoping your feeling better this morning. Oh Tony poor Britany so painful, I once had a toenail ripped off , so can sympathise. Joys of being a grandparent. Went for the walk early, the local beach was packed with board riders having a comp, lots of cyclists around and walkers, there is a large ocean pool where I turn around and every morning there are a lot of older swimmers in there even when there is high tide, a bit hard to swim in that it's very choppy then. Mary hope John is doing well . ~~~~~~~~~~~~ to everyone````````````````` ((((((((( to those not the best((((((((((((( Have a great day what ever you are doing Cheers luv Sandra in the Gong |

Evening...Er'm rather Morning i should say...12:30 here. Just got back from Box Hill Hospital, and been there since 8:00pm The dramas of being grandparents. Grandaughter was dropped off at 7:30 by daughter, as she was going out for the night, with new bo. So we offered to take Britney for the night. At about 8:00pm i heard a blood curdling scream outside, and it was Britney. She had come a cropper off her scooter, ripping two of her toe nails clean off, and a half inch gash under her toes, blood streaming out. Grabbed her quickly, and rushed her into the bathroom, and filled the sink with Dettol and warm water and bathed the cut. ( nasty one ) and new there would be stiches involved. So off to the hospital, as all local doctors were closed. I had her toenails in a cloth and hope they might be able to sew them back on,( wishful thinking ) but Doc. said cannot do,and unfortunatley they wont grow back.( unless micro surgery ) 5 stiches and 4hrs later, all is well, and lucky no toes broken. Might grab a nice port me thinks, and hope for a calmer day tomorrow.....lol Av a good un. Tony Oz...:>)) * who just keeps smiling through it all * |
