Hello Bev - my we are getting lots of visitors from that OTHER thread - and I was even privileged to get some pickles from Jilly - I sent her into giggles because I called her Pam instead of Jilly. No idea why! My/Our publican was in 1866 around the Wangaratta/ Chiltern/ Oxley area, that's when he wasn't in court for some minor disdemeanour lol Jood

poo poo to you cat, i was being nice and not going for the throat with my first real day back and nine to go bla bla bla. forgot all about the numbers util i showed my son all the nifty Australian tips from the Earl of Ozex. He fancies that he mght apply for a job doing f/h at the local library, he reckons he's experienced cause of all the stuff he's ''helped'' me do. yeah right , that will look good on the job application. 'i've got at least 6 convicts that are blood relatives in direct line to myself, my mum is a gypsy and i've helped her out extensively with her brickwalls when i'm not playng cricket or footy' . he does address the academic essential criteria , more is the pity. can you tell that i'm green with the thought of him being able to apply for the job. So tony, do you come across smitham bottom, ingatestone and hooley in your essex trail. the lion /red lion inn? don't have publicans in my family but some from essex. off to the cricket, bye for a bit, love Yvette x

Hi folks. So long since I've posted here, I feel like a newbie all over again. Glad to see the good cheer is still being spread around. No rain AGAIN (or should that be,'still') in Perth...just end-to-end summer.

Afternoon Wattlers Had a quiet couple of days, doing not much of anything. OH is trying to paint the roof in between rain and wind. We had rain yesterday and strong wind all night, today we have had a couple of showers but its fine now. Tony loved the letter, I agree with the others it wont do any harm sending it, and who knows it just might get something done. Sssshhhh its nearly footy season,( cant say it tooo loud as you know some will start moaning and say here we go again, hee hee) had a look at my guys the other day, dont look half bad neither, oh and they were playing pretty good too so look out :-)))))) Gee another win very good, hopefully we will win something big next weekend, better pack bags incase, mmm but then again maybe not it might be a bad omen, so I will wait till we win then hang the packing, I will buy new clothes in Mudgee. Mary glad John is improving, fingers crossed it keeps going that way and boy the doc will be surprised when he visits next. Cheers Sue

Hi Mary. Glad to hear John is on the improvement. He must have a great nurse looking after him. Best wishes. Hi SusyQ. Glad to have been a little help to your friend in Spain. Always nice to hear back if the info was some help. Yes, sometimes it pays to make a bit of noise ( council ) but iv'e had a few run ins with them before, over Barb's Hairdressing salon. ( customer parking ) The letters are computer generated i would say, as a few of the neighbours got them also. What gets me blood pressure up, is its one law fer them, and another law fer us. I really dont mind trimming the Gums if they could be a danger to passer by's. But i also am a stickler for: Look in your own backyard first, before you tell others about do's and dont's. Been thinking about starting my own Web site for Ozzie pubs ( with Pictures and past publicans ) It was an idea that a friend in the U.K started, and helped me tremendously back in the early days of Internet and Genealogy. His name was Ian 'Pubby' Hunter.( now deceased ) 'Essex Pubs'. He created a Web site on the Net dedicated to Geno's who had publican ancestors. A fantastic bloke, who would bend over backwards to help people find there relos. My Great grandad and Grandad are listed on his site,'' Bird in Hand'' Earls Colne, Essex.......... along with a few G,Great uncles of mine who ran pubs and beer houses. 25 Publicans in my tree...but what else would i expect...lol ( time for a V.B ) me thinks His Web site is still running and looked after by others now. Lots of Info for Pubs, Inns & Taverns, London..Middlesex...Herts..and Kent also.and in general, if any Wattlers had Publicans in there families. http://pubsgen(.)com/indexIan.shtml Tony Oz....:>))

Hi everyone..I am here... Been a bit busy and thought I had added lately but the days seem to slip by.. Oh is doing really well and the improvements are so good and we cant believe it..Doctor said no promises and it was a case of pot luck with any improvements so we cant believe our luck..Cant wait to get back to the doc to show him,, He will be amazed I think.. Went to water jerks the other day and my glasses just vanished off the table I had put them on..Everyone searched the pool and surrounds and nothing.. The table was in full view all the time we were in the pool and nobody came or went.. Thank goodness I have my old ones still as I would not be able to drive and as John cant drive for 2 weeks we would have been up in poop alley without a paddle.. Was hoping that someone may have thought they were theirs and put them in their bag but they all said they didn't have them so a mystery.. and another couple of hundred for the optometrist. for a new pair. It was good to have a win on lotto and I think we should add it to next sat. and really do a big one.. Must go and take Johns dressings off so that he can shower so see ya all later Love ya,, Mary xxxxxxxxxx

Go on Tony, send it, I would and have in the past. Some times its the only way to get things done. You may be amazed at what they will do, remember a couple of weeks ago I actually got the dead roo moved the same day and if I ring for the nature strip to be slashed they usually come out.If you don't want to send it to the council send it to your local paper. btw Tony, my friend in Spain was very grateful, I told to look at your list on the tips board and she may contact you, but I did tell her that you are very busy and she has to be patient. We are also getting rain, a bit patchy but heavy at times. I would like it to rain for a week. Did any one watch ABC last night, very interesting program 'Around the World in 80 treasures'. Trifley, do you keep getting un asked for web pages popping up on your screen? If so that's what I have and I have tried every thing I know of to get rid of them. Let me know if you have any success please. Welcome back Yvette, are the withdrawal symptoms easing now LOL. I have had a little bit of success with a couple of hot matches and one I got from Ancestry. Does any one else have their tree on Ancestry? Well, the sun is out again, but every thing does smell nice, just going to open up all the windows again Bye for now Luv SuzyQ

Vonny can you send pickles to usses who don't go to that OTHER thread??? Tony - you go get em! Cheek of them !! Probably a computer generated letter. I got one to tell me my car was no longer registered, and I was about to leave for Bendigo the next day - hurried phone calls and internet payment, and bobs ya uncle. Pouring darn here in the Blue Mts still - been checking the radar all over Oz. A little town called Henty in the middle of NSW is really really copping it - our rain is light - their rain (according to the colour code is HEAVY). Parts of Melbarn where the bush fires were are all getting copious rain as is Wangaratta and Euroa where most of usses had rellies in them olden days. Hi Boro Babs - how are you? Did we only win $23.50 last night, or was it $32.25 Love Jood

.....and while I'm at it. I have also noticed that the cute little fluffy bummed possums ( god bless them ) are using 'YOUR' tree branches to obtain access to 'OUR' house, and finding refuse in the cavities of our walls, and urinating and scratching all night causing me and my family lack of sleep. This may cause lack of income...your wages. Please cut your tree branches 3 meter's from our house...ta Tony Oz.....*Tax payer*......:>)))))))))))))))

Arvo.....:>)) Glad you getting some rain Hz. As Flakey said, we got some last night in Melban, but you would never know it now. Warmish day at the moment, with blue skies and the odd scattered cloud about. Had to cut some Gum branches off the front of our property this morning, as they were hanging over the footpath and Nature strip. Got a nice letter from the Council. To the householder. We have noticed that the tree branches from your trees are below the standard 3meter height from the pavement....blah,blah,blah...ect,....so did a chain saw masacre on them this morning. Cant have the council upset....can we. Might send them a nice letter in return. To the Council. I have trimmed the tree branches as requested.....We the householder have noticed that your trees ( plural ) branches on 'YOUR' nature strip are overhanging OUR property and OUR roof, and during the winter months discard there leaves which block our guttering and has caused me to buy guttering netting at much expense.........sorry if my rates are a bit short in $$$$ this year, and the 'COUNCIL' nature strips outside my property are not mowed this year, but petrol costs for lawnmowers are expensive at the moment......do you have a couple of spare sheep we could borrow.....ta *steps down off soap box* Av a nice day everyone....:>))) Tony Oz....:>))) Who's never seen a 3 meter human.
