I'm a member at the Hellenic Club just to throw another club into the picture - happy to go anywhere. I've eaten at SC but not at Tradies - do we get the buffet at Tradies? Jill they are real firies on those calendars - a real firie sold me one last year. Daughter bought one in NY for next year - says their firies are hunkier than ours. They don't usually turn up to fight a fire with their shirt off tho - lol - or turn up at Jood's half naked - more's the pity says Jood - pmsl

the ones up the road from my place are an assorted bunch. they look hunky with their tshirts on , suppose they need to be to carry such large hoses and extinguish big blazing fires. i just look occassionly, but its hard not too as they come past most days on their way to lunch my ergonomic breaks are getting closer together, smallest pooch is whining to get out of miles' room, he thinks i'm doing something exciting yx

9th December is good with me and Gwenda and Mary so if you can make it JA then lets fix the date. Do we want to do lunch at Southern Cross Club (do we need a member?) or Woden Tradies? - I'm a member of the Tradies but I don't think we need membership for the restaurant anyway. Never been to Southern Cross - is it good? Maybe leave that choice with the rest of you :) Vonny

Jeff. A Firie is what we call a Fireman. Just a nickname really. Aussies use lots of short nickname sayings for various things. Arvo = afternoon or Good Afternoon Bewdy! = Beauty. Really good Blowies = blow flies Coldie = a cold beer Tony Oz...:>))
