Hi Jood ;-)))))))))) Hope you're ok. ~~~~~~~~ to Marilyn loved the joke lolol I've decided someone in my college is an idiot. Every school in St Helens has this week as their half term holiday. The person in charge of the colleges half term holiday decided on next week. As a lot of people on the access and mature students on other courses have kids at school this has caused a lot of problems. Luckily for me on my course a lot of the work is done outside of lecture time and my two are older now so it hasn't affected me too badly but have still lost some lesson time. To top it off I have to get up next week, when I should be able to have some nice lie ins, to see the kids off to school. Not a happy cat ;-((((( Hope you are all ok. (((((((hugs))))))))))) for those who aren't or just need one. Catxx

Hi Marilyn - loved the joke, haven't heard it before! Wattle is Australia's national emblem - and when we first started up, someone said 'wott'l we call it' - and so Wattle was born and still alive and kicking some years later. .. We have our own little yellow mascot 'Wattie' who zips around the country and overseas, has his own passport. .. He's been to Canada, Indonesia, the south pole, and to various states around Australia. .. He has a bit of a drinking problem and is very partial to martoonies (martinis) - he's also very good at giving out much love and comfort when needed. .. If Suzy can give us all your email address, I can send you some pics. Gosh Marilyn, we will have to re-educate you with our own particular Wattle language! Morning all, rise'n shine. .. I wasn't up quite so early this morning, nice and warm in bed here. It's been like a mild winter the past few days. Have a happy valentines day everyone. Love Jood

Hi Wattles Once again thanks for the warm welcome SuzyQ - I live on the Costa Del Sol, Southern Spain, been lovely and Hot today, starting to really warm up, we get to 40+ in August, I usually go back to Blity and visit my sister Stella (who you know). We go Ghost Hunting (thats what here grandchildren call geneology) nice yes. Tony - I have your email from SuzyQ, will contact you shortly Thought all you down under, would like this... GRIN OR GROAN Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, bought new shoes for her wedding to Price Charles, which got increasingly tighter around her feet as the day went on. That night, when the festivities were finally over and they retired to their room, she flopped on the bed and said, 'Charles, darling, please remove shoes, my feet are killing me!' Her ever-obedient Prince of Wales attacked her right shoe with vigour, but it would not budge. 'Harder!' yelled Camilla, 'Harder!' Charles yelled back, 'I´m trying, darling! But it´s just so bloody tight!' 'Come on! Give it all you´ve got!' she cried. Finally, when it released, Charles let out a big groan and Camilla exclaimed, 'There! Oh, God, that feels so good!' In their bedroom next door, the Queen said to Prince Plillip, 'See? I told you with a face like that, she was still a virgin!' Meanwhile, as Charles tried to remove her left shoe, he cried, 'Oh,God, darling! This one´s even tighter!' At which Prince Phillip said to the Queen, 'That´s my boy: once a Navy man, always a Navy man Aplogies to Queen of the Nile, I really am a royalist Do you know I just might be getting a little bit addicted to the Wattles (what does that mean anyway) Tara for now, Hasta Manna Marilyn

Evening...:>)) Lara. Barb says to say congrats on the 8.4 kgs loss. She says she is happy with her 4kg, but wants to lose a bit more yet. She will break her diet at Mudgee, but straight after back on it again, as we head off to the Gold Coast with family 3 weeks after Mudgee. Sue ( Tassie ) Your pocket roast sounds delicious mate...Yum Hz. Loved the joke...hee hee But really....C'mon now....Wimin dont nag.....do they.?( cough ) We were both just relaxing on the decking having a drink, and the skies were overcast, but very humid. There was a flash of lightning, followed by a thunder clap.......then a few minutes later the skies opened and it started raining.( that wet stuff ) We both looked at each other.......then jumped up together and ran to the laundry, each grabbing a spounge and car wash bottle, and raced to our cars for a soapy scrub down, and let the rain do the rest. 5 min later the rain was gone and it was a fight between the sun and the grey clouds. The sun won....:>((((......but we got a free car wash.....:>)))) Now the crickets are chirping, and the humidity is back. Mary. Best wishes to John, and also to Merle and hubbie, and anyone else not the best. Merle. I was watching a documentry on Albany on the tele earlier this evening, it was quite interesting. Only 3 sleeps and 831km's to Mudgee, and we are both looking forward to just sitting back and relaxing, and doing nuffin....:>)) and sharing a friendly chat and a few drinks with a great bunch of peeps. We are only there for 3 days, but its the quality of the time spent and not the qauntity that matters. Av a good un. We are off for a walk. Tony Oz....:>))

What is the big occasion Tassie - ohhhhhhhhhhhhh s....t - I know - Valentines day haha - oh well, I already have my card from MY Valentine. .. Bourbon - yuk - I'm still salivating over the way I do MY roas. .. I might buy me a piece of beef and cut it in half for two meals. SuzyQ - you might get the wunderlust and never want to settle down once you are on the road. But I wouldn't come south in winter, stick up around Qld, the Alice and North West Oz, otherwise it will be verrrrrrrrrrry cold. Mary - want some chooks? Suzie's moving lol Been a bizzy little girl today - even filled the rubbish bin up - and it will be all gone tomorrow. Feel better already. Yeah - I was motivated - Liddle Lucas is coming tonight. I'm off out after tea as they know, they just want to pop in and have take away, Neil has a visit to the Dr down this way, and when he gets home, Jann takes the car to school where she has a meeting till 9 - her school is down the road, so Neil will just watch tv till she comes home. But I get to see Lucas before I go out. He crawled up to me the other day, getting to know me real well. Need to be motivated more tho. Ironing?? well ..... I've had a bad backache the past two days, is that a good excuse?? Ohhhhhhhhhhhh Suzyyyyyy - it's dangerous to 'merge' - you WILL finish up with doubles and triples lol Back to the h*******k Jood

Hi Wattlers, Been entering heaps on info onto my tree and its all getting a bit confusing. A lot of inter marrying among familys I am sure I have got some entered more than once. I have merged a few, but then I worry that I have merged the wrong ones. Oh the joys of genealogy. Well we have decided we are difinately going to move this year. Just have a few things to do to the house to make it a bit more presentable, not a lot though, and maybe put the sale sign out around May. We have decided that we are going to put every thing into storage, buy a caravan and take off until we find something we like. I hope that this will be our last move. I think that I will need to invest in wireless broadband. Any tips please. Glad you came back Marilyn, you will get used to this crowd, they really grow on you. Never asked before, but where in Spain do you live? Will send your email to Tony and visa versa. But don't expect any research to be done this week end. At least half of the Wattlers will be kicking up their heels in Mudgee, at a Wattlers meet. And those of us not attending are slowly turning green. More rain today and the brown is slowly turning green. Its much cooler too, thank goodness. Lara, you should be very proud of your self and Barb too. I will be starting my diet tomorrow. Well, its nearly time to feed the chooks. Mary one of them has been ill and the other girls attacked her. We have nursed her back to health and she is now running around with the others. Still not getting above 2 eggs a day though. Gotta go, bye for now Luv SuzyQ

Afternoon Wattlers Lara WOW that is great and I can see your point dont want to pig out and out it all back on, remember it is easier to put it on than to take it off. Now word of warning I will put a note at the bottom of my message to do with my poket steak meal for tomorrow, so dont read the bottom paragraph ok :-) Tamika went to the dentist today and she didnt feel much pain, too many stars in her eyes I think :-) All she could say when we got outta there was did you see how close the dentist was, oh cor is that all she thought of , oh well I suppose it took he mind off all the drilling etc. Now I have worked out what I am cooking for tomorrow, dont look Lara, I have already done a home made cheesecake, from Mums recipe, David thought it was sooo yummy on Australia Day when they bought one over for lunch. And I found a recipe for a Beef roast marinated in bourbon, which just happens to be David favourite drink, so I have raided his Jim Beam bottle, I dont think he will miss a cup of it gone :-s along with some other items. then in the morning I am putting it in the slow cooker so it will be nice and tender and hopefully oh so nice. Cheers Sue

Afternoon all Just had an email from a cousin in Perth who tells me our uncle (not blood related tho - his first wife, my aunty, died way back in the late 40's and he married a girl from Sydney a bit younger) - he is 93 years old, they still go away on driving trips, and (bless him) he has just bought a new Mercedes. I call that being optimistic. Incidentally, his father (of Solarhart fame) was in his late 90's when he died, yet my cousin died in his late 60s of abestosis, sadly. Cousin never drank, smoke, - he was a qantas pilot, went to church - and yet he died a sad painful death. Takes all kinds doesnt it? Jood

Hi Wattlers, Marilyn in Spain hello and welcome, you do have an interesting background, funny how the misdeeds are all recorded and remembered for later generations. We got a bit of a shower on Sunday afternoon but not nearly enough and then today on the front page of the Sydney Morning Herald there’s a big picture of the rain up in Sydney, I could weep…… hope you all put your buckets out, or had a nice swim in the gutter! Sorry Shazz, doesn’t sound like much fun tho’ when things leak !! Finally we are having a quieter week so I am catching up on a few filing/organising jobs, plus bought a huge box of choccies for DD15 for Valentine’s Day, she has been so great this summer and now back at school has settled in well this year, she deserves a big treat. Might be able to talk OH into cooking tempura prawns tomorrow night too. Glad to hear Lara that you are doing so well with your new svelte self, and Tiger is on the mend, and also that John has improved so much Mary, how wonderful, he will just need some stamina now, then he’ll start chasing you round the kitchen table like in the old days eh? Hope the roads to Mudgee are wide and clear for the travellers, is our Queen on the road already, ooh she’s so keen. Catch you all later ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hz PS. One for the boys: Reporter asked the old Indian gentleman in his tepee what his wife’s name was. “Three horses’ the Indian replied. “And how did she get that name?” asked the reporter, hoping for a good story. “Nag, nag, nag” replied the Indian.
