Hi again, Now I know where you are hiding and it's not weekend. Please no more rude comments re Good Housekeeping. Remember this is how our mothers were taught. Thank goodness they saw the error of their ways and taught us different. Bye SuzyQ

hello all you fun loving people i'm still about, have poked my head in a couple of times, but each time I do i want to stay. knocked off an online exam last night. you get 1 hour to do it. last time i tried kept getting interrupted , so did it at 10 therfore finished at 11. past your bed time . i've been summarising , job seeking, still doing weights classes. rode my bike today and thought of you pam. just been yakking to an elderly lady over the street. took us forever to walk 10 meters, with the walking stick the huge shopping bag and the yak. I'm so saddened by the news of the boy. so many burdens at a young age. it breaks my heart, especially coz i know so many kids that age. I lost a dear friend the same way. it affected me deeply. This is why you wattlers mean so much, friends are soo important!!!! It will come back to bite these fun police, suzi. miserable b's. i'm about to start studying again, so i'll catch you later. if i don't reply, i'm still listening.(because I have an addiction) love to you all from Yvette

Good Morning, just. Well today started very overcast but the wind has blown all the clouds away and now the sun is shining once more. Good one Tony. Being a pom it took me a while to read but I really enjoyed it. Anna, I saw that young man on TV, very sad. I'm with Lew, I think far too much pressure is put on kids today. They have to grow up so quick. I left school at 15, got a hairdressing apprentiship and was very naive compared to todays kids, but I think I was more worldly wise. I just managed to learn along the way. Not everyone is academic, some are much better with their hands and they should be given the opportunity without having to pass exams. I will not say anything about the cleric, except, GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE. We went for our new glasses yesterday, I now see the world in a whole new light. We then went to Paradise Point for lunch and saw something that really annoyed us. The fun police have arrived on the glod Coast. A group of elderly people, most in wheelchairs where enjoying lunch when the traffic regulators, ( think thats what it said on their coats ) told the bus driver that he had to move the coaster bus, which he had parked along side the picnic tables. Everyone who saw it was outraged. He had to park the bus quite along way from the area and I hope he was allowed to take the bus back because most of those people would not have been able to make it back to the bus. What is wrong with councils today, I think they really beleive these areas belong to them and not the people. Any one who knows the Gold Coast I must also warn you that you now have to pay to park in the large carpark on the Broadwater at Southport. I am now getting down from my soap box, it's quite a big drop today. Going now to calm down and get lunch ready Luv SuzyQ

Well I am back from my physical jerks in the pool and it feels so good.. I should do it every day by myself as they have all the equipment there if you want to use it. Going to have a quiet day today and do some family history. I am going to add OH family to mine as his has been done by his cousin back to 1800 so I will try and elaborate on it.by adding some twigs. I feel so sad for young people who are under stress these days. I know of one teenager who killed himself and he was at that time in boarding school. You just dont know how some of them are feeling when they bottle it all up and then it becomes to much for them to bear.My heart goes out to their families. Lew Has Lily gone to the doctor yet...??? Trifle Big Hugs and have you got Neffer making you your morning coffee yet. I had a lovely date scone with mine...I know, I know,, there goes my figure... Fluffy Big Hugs to and hope you are OK, OH has a visit to the specialist today, as he is back from overseas, so hope he comes up with something to help him. Well better go and get OH some lunch so back later Love Mary xxxxx

Oh Anna - what tragic news. I agree with Lew, why do we - as a society- put our kids under so much pressure? From the year12 exam point of view I much prefer the ACT option - having had 2 in NSW and 2 in ACT. Our year 11 and 12 Colleges are run like universities with exams each semester in a subject. Then you can drop that subject if you find you don't like it or go on to the next level. There is a limit of course, but kids aren't locked in and the subject marks are accumulative so there are no big final exams. There is a moderating exam for the whole of the ACT in year 12 in Maths and English to give a benchmark between colleges. At the end of year 12 they choose your best 4 subject marks - English is compulsory - and you get a University entrance mark from that if you choose to. Of course, Uni pre-requisites still apply, so if you want a certain course then you have to choose to major in those subjects. And you are up against all states so you still have to work hard, but much less stress. Vonny

Queen, we DONT talk about Lily. We are not amused! HE has to take her to the smash repairs to see what they can do. At least she will be looked after by the repair people. Sorry, to hear about your friends father. Get Nefer to give you a little back rub and make a nice cuppa. Lew Lew xxx

The mind boggles at Mary doing H20 jerks - like physically lifting up water !!! .. pmsl Flucky - lovely to see you back again (((hugs))) (((Trifley))) Have a good day all Jood

Anna.....special thoughts for the relations, friends and school associates of that poor young lad. Crew.....how's Lilly? Mary....enjoy your H2O jerks. Gotta have some more coffee....I'll be back! TX

Dearest Anna, what a terrible waste of such a young life and what a tragedy for his father and brother. Healing thoughts heading to this family from me (((xxx))). You wonder about the pressures put on kids these days. The system seems to think that all children must go on to do their HSC then onto University. Hey, what's wrong with being a plumber, electrician, secretary, cleaner, etc., etc. Nothing! Okay, I'll get off my soap box now. Overcast with thunderstorms predicted. Keep your fingers crossed! Off to get some brekky Back soon Lew Lew xxx

Good morning all Sunny and dry in Queensland - 29 degress predicted today - so what's new! Duckers - you said good night to everyone last night and I'd already toddled off to bed to read my book - lovely to see your message. ((((((((((hugs))))))))) Hope you are getting back to your normal cheeky self Queenie. We're going to an Irish show at our local live theatre tonight - singing and dancing so looking forward to it. Toowoomba has been in shock this week - the popular school captain of one of our local private schools committed suicide. He had 3 weeks to go until the end of year 12 - was an accomplished sportsman and a good student. No one had the remotest idea that he was depressed. It's just so awful. He gassed himself in the car at home. Please remember him and his family in your prayers - only his Dad and little brother as their Mum died 2 years ago. I think every parent here has hugged their children and begged them to share their problems instead of bottling them all up. Katherine is shooting a movie again this weekend so once more I'll have a houseful. I don't mind - it's good to see them having fun. Have a good day everyone Love Anna

Hello Trifley, Tony & Joodles, Thank you very much for your help re Mack family. Yes Tony Mina would be Jemima...Yes this is same family. Have printed off info you posted here & will take it to work with me this morning, which will make my mate Viv very happy. I agree...that it's difficult to find info re the surviving daughter of Bill & Mina, as Viv's mum could not remember her name...only that she was younger than Barbara who had died @ 7 re cancer 1954. I would estimate a guess that remaining daughter to have been born possibly 1949 to early 1950's....& later married; making the search more difficult re change of name. If I can gather anymore info re her, I'll post it here. Again....many thanks for taking the time, it's greatly appreciated. Take care eh....Best Wishes to all. Carol.
