Thanks for that Mary. It takes me 2 hours on the ride on. That equates to 8 hours pushing! Been there, done that and it's not very good for the health. Nearly passed out and had to lie under the tap to revive myself!

Morning All. Sunny in Mudgee town and the lawn needs mowing. A couple of hours on the ride on for me! Laurie, I have Ackroyds in my tree. Eleanor Ackroyd from Bradford, Yorkshire born 1785. Any connection? Yes, I saw the night light over on the weekender. Looks good, lol How'd your weekend go, Flutters? Was Mum okay? Anyone doing anything exciting for the Cup. I know that Jood is going out. We're going to a do tonight at the Mudgee Club, but I don't think we're doing anything tomorrow. Wait and see. Okay, better go and do something constructive. Hope all the Wattlers have a great day Lew Lew xxx

(accent was sooo broard I codnay undstand her at all). Franks mum was an Ackroyd. I'll join you in that coffee if you dont mind luv Laurie

Pristhess When I worked at the hospital there was a doctor Ackroyd,, Any relation..he is a orthopod. when are you going up home.??? Tony Thanks for all those hints for searching. Will try next time I am searching.I had cottoned on to the hint Jood made as one of my family was split in half, one on one page and the rest on the next. Got the electrician comming this morning to have a look at my cooktop, It is quietly rusting away. I dont know what the old lady who lived here did to it but it is trying its darndest to be no more. Back later as I feel a coffee comming on. Love to all and hugs for those who are poorly Mary xxxxx

Good morning looovelly Wattlers, World may be a bit grey outside, but hey, its Monday 6th November 2006 !! Half of Victoria are having the day off, polishing their shoes for a big day at the Great race tomorrow . . 3/4 of the rest of the country are trying to pick a winner! Just heard $140 mil expected to be put on the horses in the Melbourne Cup tomorrow . . . sad isn't it!!! So pleased with my detective work last night - after many failed atempts, I found TRL's Taylor & Ackroyd families, got some great stuff to give to the MIL at Christmas time. So many Taylors to pick from in Lancashire, but the clever little things left me a clue in the form of stuffing Ackroyd in for a middle name one of the kids. They had the inlaws staying with them on census night to help me even more! Despatch date of the certs is 14th Nov so wont get them till I get back from up home. Need my second cuppa . . . so catch you later. Have a great day . . . just cause its grey on the outside - doesn't mean you have to be grey on the inside! luv Laurie

Morning Wattlers. Joodle. Good on ya. Yes,true about the next page bit.( if your Family is at the bottom of Page )....Also, a good clue is that if you find a male Ancestors eg: Henry Smith and Wife Ellen Smith but your not sure of Ellen's maiden name. Census:1881 Head: Henry Smith....age 32..born Suffolk Wife: Ellen Smith....age 30..born Essex Son: William Smith..age 7 born Essex Dau: Susan Smith...age 5 born Essex Dau: Mary Smith....age 2 born Essex Sometimes ( not always ) but a few doors down the road, or even the next street, you might find a clue to Ellen's maiden name. Census:1881 Head: Susannah Perkins...age 60 ( Widow ) born Kent child: Sarah Smith....age 10 born Essex... ( clue...... Poss: Grandaughter ) I then check the free BDM or I.G.I..ect,ect......for a marriage. of SMITH to PERKINS.and sometimes find: eg: June qrt 1868 ( Essex ) Henry Smith Mary Jones Walter Parsons Ellen Perkins So here we find a Henry Smith and Ellen Perkins marriage. Could be a clue......and also that Sarah Smith aged 10 living with possible grandma Susannah Perkins ( widow ) at time of census. So now perhaps you have a possible maiden name for the wife of Henry Smith ........( Ellen Perkins ) I'm sure a lot of people use this system. Its not 100% proof, but sometimes a good idea to check dooooon the road. Off to work. Av a good un. Tony Oz...:>))))

Tony, I found those clues about looking for other members of the family in the same area very true. .. Here's another clue for you Wattlers. .. If your census family are at the bottom of a page, always go to the next page (you might find one or more other members of the family) - as I did this morning. .. Silly me. .. I should have known that, it has happened before. Rise'n shine peeps. Another coldish day in the mountains - a whitish grey outside. Have a great day all Love Jood
