Good Morning All Welcome Merle glad to see you made it. Hey you should be down here in Tassie now. Tuesday and yesterday they had snow up the Western Tiers around the Great Lake area. Wonder if it will keep up til xmas ha ha. Today we have got a lovely sunny day expecting 17 so I think we have got all the cold stuff we are going to get for a while. We had our great Tug off this morning lol. No Im not being rude, we had a Tug of War between Hobart and Launceston, Hobart unfortunately won so they have bragging rights for the year as it looks like it may become a yearly event, but after all said and done we still have all the things that matter like the footy and V'8's that Hobart would love to have haa haa. Tony you liked the bit about our imaginary border half way between Hobart and Launceston and our gate that must be kept shut to stop them migrating North pmsl. Evidently the rivalry has been going on for years and back about 100 years ago the 2 Mayors from each city met in Launceston to literally 'bury the hatchet' it is still buried in the footpath in the centre of Launceston. Fanny yes I am going to go for a walk this morning as soon as I finish here, it is a lovely day and only aboout a half hour walk to the city, I have a couple of competition entry forms to put in to the local paper, maybe I might win a lovely chrissy hamper or a Holden Viva, mmmmm if I win that I will have to sell it for a Ford :-))))))) Joodles I just heard an item on the radio which was talking about the 'Endeavour' sailing ship replica that is going to be sailing from Sydney to Hobart in Feb and March anyone interested in travelling in it can contact people concerned but you have to be fit as you are required to man the riggings and all that. The event that you mentioned may be linked to this also with the ships being rowed around Tassie around the same time, I will let you know more when I find out more. ~~~~~ to all ~~~~~ See you when I get back. Cheers Sue |

Fanny & Merle, your chrissie name can be anything you wannit to be - dozen hafta rhyme. (I mean - Joodles/The Virgin Merry ???) Anna - Lew is picking up and dropping off a friends teenager - they had to bring father down to Sydney to hospital I think. Ive been typing on my lappy tonight and its making my neck sore, too high up - geez Im a dill - I could have put it somewhere else! except the cords wont reach - so I'm not that silly at all. .. My big pc is running in safe mode due to a little hiccup earlier.. I will actually have to go and fold the washing up now coz I can't get on the big puter .. :( I had to laugh earlier tonight on A Current Affair when Belienda Green was saying how old she was. The other girl - the one who did the first nude magazine shot (name escapes me) - she says her friends tell her she hasnt changed - I thought - Gee you look old .. hehe - she was my Tai Chi teacher about 20 years ago. .. I'll think of her name soon. .. She was on tv too. .. Think she was a lotto girl. .. oh Karen Pini. .. I remember she had long elegant fingers (remember, we were doing tai chi, she was a lovely girl, and still is lovely but has certainly aged gracefully. Jood |

Hi Merle Welcome to the thread - can I say that we are not easily offended so you have absolutely no need to worry! I'm a bit concerned that you've been taking Dr Lew's pills - (psssssst - she's a quack you know!) Which reminds me - why were you driving the school bus Princess Mudgee??? My goodness you poor little people - be afraid - be very afraid! Hope you weren't self medicating at the time Princess. The more I lthink about it, the more the mind boggles!! When Chris was principal at a country school, one of the little boys came up to him and said - 'Sir, they had drugs on the bus.' Chris acted very stern and said 'Oh dear. What sort of drugs were they.' Turns out someone had a packet of Heron paracetamol and our little mate thought it was.... heroin! Chris wasn't very successful at keeping a straight face. So - beware of drugs on the bus Princess. Cheers dears Anna |

Well the expected cold weather and rain didn't eventuate, tomorrow they say. The winds even abated and only a little breeze now. Fire's burning in the Blue Mountains, but nowhere near me - about half an hour away. .. Right up the top at a little town called Bell .. The place where the steam trains go on loop rides (if you have ever been on them - last time I went, they used diesels, it is all voluntary, and they can't afford to run the steam trains all the time, so just for kids holidays, usually). Sorry Earl of Ozeth (gotta bittova lithp) Mary, didn't need the brolly, or heavy jacket, just wore a light jacket. .. I only went to see a specialist at the hospital, it was just a short walk from the car to under cover. .. I must admit, its getting cooler by the minute here now. I saw that about Ballarat getting snow, wondered if Bendigo would get some, but its further north. I won't get into the debate between Melb & Syd - I reckon there is more teasing between Oz & NZ !!!! Good to see you Anna & Trifley - now where has SuzyQ gone??? Thanks Gwenda, I had to save the number for the Wattlers, and no-one else was around to uphold the tradition. .. Big sacrifice it was! Love Jood |
