Afternoon Just popping in while I have some lunch, a cold meat (I wont say what meat it is as some dont like it) I'd hate to turn you off your luches lol, with cheese, tomato and mayo yummy. It is sooo hot over here I have retrieved the fan from the garage, I opened the back door and felt the heat, it is 27 at the moment and thats hot enough as far as Im concerned, inside it is nice and cool but I dont want it getting hot. Oh back to doing more searching. Oh no !!!!! just had weather update and it is now 30!!!!!! Definately not putting up any more lights today. Ps so how many sets has Graeme and Mark put up Trifley, sounds like you will definately win the wattlers award for chrissy lights. Fingers crossed for you local judging. Is it a local competition ? and What do you win ? ~~~~ to all ~~~~ Cheers Sue

Morning Wattlers......or afternoon.....depending which side of the border you're standing. OK.....one bag packed with the improtant things, now I'd better find somewhere to put some clothes....heee heee. I have my shopping list all ready so we've got plenty of nice cheeses, dips, salami and the such. A weekend away also means a weekend away from 'healthy' food and indulging in 'tasty' food. Searched every where and couldn't find my yellow polka dot bikini. I guess I'll just have to skinny dip. SuzyQ.....hope you and your sore thumb can join us on Saturday. You too, Jill......I'm looking forward to seeing you. Has anyone heard from Donna? She hasn't been on here for a while......I hope she's ok. She might like to join us for our girls weekend. Graeme and Mark are putting up more lights today.....yes, that's right.....I said MORE! It's a mad scramble to get it finished by next Tuesday when the judging starts. When it's finished I'm sure we'll get complaints from the space station that it's too bright...pmsl. Doesn't matter, they are working together, not arguing and the place is going to look good. I am going to try to drag Graeme away for a couple of hours this arvo so I can get some Chrissy shopping done. I don't want to leave it to the last minute as I'm getting tireder by the session and don't want to run out of energy before I finish my shopping. I hope all the rest of you wonderful, crazy peeps have a great day. I'll try to catch up with you all tonight. Big hugz and love Trifley X

Morning Wattlers, Well its nearly afternoon. Crazy weather freezing last week, boiling today. Was out mowing before 9am and it was quite pleasant, hot now tho. Look out the gold coast on the weekend, there are some mature schoolies coming to invade, hope you have a great time. SusyQ hope you get your hand sorted, perhaps you can learn to 1finger type with the other hand, I had my right hand in plaster 2years ago and learnt to use the mouse and type with the left, after 8 weeks I got quite used to using the left I still use it for the mouse. well not much else happening, might go off to the gym after lunch. Good Morning all, Feeling a litle better than I did yesterday after coming home from Shepparton it was very hot and humid over thereand was completly pooped Fluffy sorry to hear of your problems re the internet talk to you later dear Mary I have sent you a PM and thank you very much for the offer of help Please can someone tell me if you can look at death in Sydney Sun/Herald or the other papers online I mean and do you have to pay for this I have already looked in the Ryerson Index. If you think one is a better paper to look please for deaths notices since 1984/5 please let me know . Devily the memories are lovely aren't they? We used to spend most of our school hols at Mornington and on the beach from dawn till dusk swimming and when my nan used to call us to go home we would pretend we didnt hear her and my brother used to say go out further so she won't know we can hear her she wants to go home little devils it would be about 7pm by then and we still didnt want to leave Na used to take a big picnic basket and we would have lunch and dinner there. the strongest Memeory I ahve at a very young age was Nan ringing mum on the wind up phone and saying she wanted Miss Martin who cut nan's hair to have look at mine too I knew she meant cut it and I was hoping mum would realise and say no as nan had her cut short like a man's which was not what little girls would want I was about 5. Mum didn't realise and Miss Martin chopped of my hair to the roots nearly , and Nan's thing was weren't frigs wonderful if you didn't eat all the food on your plate you got it back the next day to eat yuk so the moral of the story was eat it the first time around even though you were full as a gook anyway the result of hair cut off, bathers top cut of of my little bubble bathers as was a nuisance to keep having to do up according to Nan and being on the beach for 6 weeks and being absolutly black I was about a stone heavier and black as the ace of spades and had no hair and when my mother and father came down to pick us up I ran to my dad and said hello and he said to mum 'That little boy just said hello to me ' and My mum nearly in tears said ' that little boy is your one and only little girl ' it is the one and only time I ever heard my father speak crossly to his mother asking her why she had had my hair cut off and why she had chopped of my bathers like that hehe lol OK I know gosh she's just had her tablet youre all saying hehe so will end this episode here and talk to you all later on Love Lara xx

Morning All Well I have been busy lately :-))))))) putting up lights in readiness for 1st Dec. got most of them up but after last nights test run might change a couple of things. The other house was easy as we knew just where to put what but being a new place its like starting fron scratch. I have been popping in and catchin up on the goss all these poka (.) thingies haa haa. Today I have in a very reflective mood, if thats what you call it, as my dear Pop passed away 15 years ago today. I was reading all the adventures some used to get up to in their youth, and I think on how I loved to spend as much time as possible with my Nan and Pop on their farm, and when ever Pop went somewhere either on the tractor or walking the property hunting for rabbits, up the Great Lakes fishing I would be not far behind him. I would spend most of my Christmas holiday on the farm, cutting and bailing hay was a time I enjoyed, riding high up on the trailer full of hay, or sitting on the fresh cut paddock having a cup of black billy tea and a scone that Nan had prepared and carried to the paddock from the house. the time I remember most and talking about swim wear earlier really put a smile on my face as one time I remember it was a hot day and we was holidaying at Ulverstone in the caravan, anyway I cant remember what the reason was but Pop didnt have his swimming trunks and not to miss out he borrowed a one piece swimsuit from Mum and put it on with only one arm in the strap just to hold them up, a bit like a Tarzan look heee heee, Pop didnt care what the other people thought of him, he was going to have a swim, gotta love him. Well after all that reminising. I have a FH question if someone can help out. I have an Ancestor that I found in the 3 days free access that Ancestry had a while back and I copied what info I could, looking back I see where one of my GG Grandparents had a different name than her Mum and Dad. I have names, birth and death dates, and I was wondering if anyone that has access to a site may be able to do a lookup to confirm if they are the right parents, or if she may have been a child of a previous marriage, or something like that. She was born in Somerset England in 1834, if anyone can help pm me or just ask on here and I will give you more details. Im gonna be doing a bit more you know what today but I will be floating in and out of here. ~~~~ to all ~~~~~ Cheers Sue

Good morning all :) Anna - good one. I like that, had forgotten about it. Yvette - I use that rhyme for my students for practicing the 'oy' sound. You should hear them groan :) Laurie - but you have a good relationship with your boys now, so I reckon it was a good thing. besides mums are meant to do uncool things :) Busy today, catch you tonight.
