Hi everyone, Been busy on the F T replacing what didnt get recorded last time.In trouble with himself too. I've over stretched on my downloads so dreading the account when it comes in. What's new??? Yvonne do you know your cousins original name and where was he born and when. Hi Fluffy we havent met yet. You've obviously been unwell. One day at a time is pretty good going. The sun is SHINING today, Even got to about 27. Sending you all a poem I wrote when Homes West finally fixed our drains. I sent it to them as a thank you and it ended up inhead office on the notice board.More likely the wanted list!! This ole house, just like its tenants Was in need of much repairing, For the plumbing had gone haywire, Needed men of extra daring. To attempt the renovating was a mighty undertaking So homes west sent out the call to arms, and Rianna with her girlish charms, cajoled and pleaded for her gran She knew that she had just the man. So, those intrepid men from Knotts (plumbing) Jumped up early from their cots' and with shovels and tools took extra pains To replace all the blocked up drains. Now the lawn's as it should be found And the water's once more underground. We've a bright new kitrche to thank homeswest for and a shiny new handle on the door. This leaves us with just one regret They haven't fixed OUR plumbing yet. Luv to all, Me |

Ooooooooooooh I am so embarrassed and excited. My nephew in Perth and his wife are buying my sister, her oh and me, a ticket to the Hopman Cup. Tony, tell Barb pppppppppppppp lol (not really) I went to a game about 2 years ago, and it really was exciting, (indoors). .. Must take my binocs so I can zoom in on the butts so I can report back to the interested parties, I think Fanny is one lol Oh, - Must tell you - saw 3 young firies walking past my place a while ago, but I was busy taking delivery of my car, which had just been dropped home after having a service. Sorry to hear about your hands SuzyQ, the sooner the op the better. Well we went to the 50th W. Anniv luncheon which I thoroughly enjoyed (up at Leura) and it did get a bit blowy outside, which concerned some of us. .. Around about 2-ish, the hostess told us she'd just heard the fires were near ...... (and she mentioned a few towns) - so most people hurried off - I think more concerned that we might find roads blocked off than anything else. .. We all forgot to have some cake which my g/f had carried up in the car, beautifully iced and decorated - I think the hostess will have remembered by now that they forgot to cut it, we will be seeing her next week, so she will no doubt have some for us. .. On the way down, no problems, traffic slowed a few times, but not for fire reasons. .. Noticed groups of fire trucks on standby at about 5 or 6 different towns, and then 4 water trucks - water trucks I ask??? Turned round the corner to go under the subway, right to my house, and here is water bubbling up all over the roadway :( (we have so little water, and we need it so bad for the fires). .. Not a water person in sight. My daughter, Oh & Lucas were going to Sydney for 3 days to her Dad's place, I was a bit concerned she was going, but she has changed her mind, and only keeping a doctors appt in Sydney and then home again - too risky to stay away 3 days. .. Having said that, *I* am going to be away for 3 days, but touch wood my place is much safer (gonna take one of my laptops away with me just in case lol) I sent you all a sort of map so you can see the towns if they are mentioned. .. I keep an eye on the NSW Rural Fire website throughout the day. The SES and other volunteers are marvellous - they would knock on everyone's door if they wanted them out. Please don't worry - if the worst happens, I'll sit down somewhere safe and send you an email from me laptop to tell you where I am .. pmsl Oh Lew Lew - can you do the lotto Saturday night please? Love Jood |

Afternoon All Well my Chrisco turned up and everything is packed away. Cant wait to get into some of the yummy food. Lara yes Tony did mention about maybe down the track if there was enough interested that we could have a meet in Tassie. I think it would be a good idea :-)))))))) Seriously if there is enough Wattlers interested, it could be a possibility. As for the Records, I will take Tony's words that we have good records, as he is better knowledged with FH things than me as I have only been doing my tree for 2 years. So Wattlers what do you think??? I could do the organizing from here with a bit of guidance as to where, what will be needed and what people would like to do while here. Cheers Sue |

Greetings Wattlers, I'm now back in cyberspace with our guests having left today. Currently 31C and very windy. Everything is dry as a chip and Jack (the dog) and Mu (the cat) are just lying around waiting for the temperature to drop! Laurie, if the belt is too tight to put in, soak it in boiling water for a minute. Well I've not been able to read up on most of the thread, but I'm pleased to see that the Duck is also back in space. Hugs and waves to all our wonderful Wattlers. HRH Dr Lew Lew xxx PS - Free pills this arvo, as I've not been around to give them out until now xxx |

Glad to hear that about Jood, O printhess. The smoke must be bad though, it's not good here (smoke that is ) but I refuse to worry until the cinders start falling out of the sky like several years ago! We just lost power too, OH fixed two fuses - how do older peeps living alone ever manage? I'd better learn how do change a fuse I think. We are also having Major Disruptions with the Hume Freeway going through town atm - dust, traffic snarlups - Albury needs a Chill Pill !!!!!!! I couldn't live without our evaporative cooling! ~~~~~~~~~~~~Hz |

Heather . . . Jood lives down in the heavily populated area - so for her place to be in any danger half the mountains would have to be on fire. Her daughter lives a little futher up, not sure if she is in the heavy bushland area. Joodles did say she was going out up the mountain a bit further today, but I think they would have blocked folks from going up too near where the fire is. Just had an email from a cuz who lives near Joodles and he said it was smokey but fires were a good distance away. Mumble moan moan . . . anyone know how to get the main drive belt on a Greenfield mower . . . the easy way that is . . I'm sure I'm doing this the hard way!!! Mower man said he couldn't fix it till next week . . . and I want it NOW . . . Taking a break from the heat outside . . . teeheee we never wanted a/c in the house but Glen had one installed . . . I'm loving it !!!!! catch ya's later luv Laurie |

lol Lara, yes we did, DD15's school didn't have to evacuate but they all saw black smoke and heard the explosions - gas bottle being refilled exploded and set off a shop full of them! Very Very lucky, one bloke in hospital, fortunately no-one dead but they emptied a few blocks of houses and all of Lavington Shopping Centre. Firies should be very proud of themselves, great effort to avoid what could have been a terrible situation, if it had got away among buidings with that wind we could have really haf a disaster. Anyone know how Jood's going?........Hz |

G'day all , JA hard working lot of engineers there how many does it take to change a light bulb sort of thing eh. Devilly glad you get your Chrisco now I would be into it now if I got one . Devilly I was thinking prompted by an email Tony sent me ages ago about how good the records are over there re having a meet up in Tassie after the Mudgee one sday about April the next big one would be good in Tassie and as you are it over there what do think? Joodles too much protesting that the Firies are NOT all coming back to your place for food and to sleep yeh sure they are not Jood , send pickles please lOL Now don't get upset only joshing ' Jood Tony loved that story as I did my apprentice ship in Richmond on the cnr of Botherambo St and Swan St opposite the Cnr Hotel and across the Rd from the Old Post Office so I know that area well mate , And by the way Tony when we stayed in Mornington it was not a yuppy place as it is now it was dear quiet little country town and the treat of the day was Nan and Pa saying ok go the shop on the old Sea Baths that were no longer used except for the shop which now is long gone and get an Eskimo Pie each Wow we would run like the wind up there to get them . Glad you enjoyed the retail fix Trifley HR I found the DFO in Brisbane near the airport a disappointment thay seem to cater only for the younger women and girls not the old and a little larger ones, and heaps of shoes and baby shops too so I spent most of my time looking at clothes and shoes for Cassie not moi but the Royal Albert vases sound nice . I rang our Drs today to get an appointment and was not able to get my normal Dr for three weeks isn't it pathetic or the only other lady Dr it was a two week wait Yes HZ started smelling that smoke here last night too, boy Albury nearly went up yesterday too with the gas exploding out somewhere near the Wagga RD. heard on the news Laurie I havn't heard back from Cilla wrote her a short email yesterday as I got a safe like hers from on the inter net to keep all records bdm certs for instance in as its fireproof too papers etc and valuables I have so many of them hehe tirraa boom de aeys etc. and havn't heard back as yet but I seem to remember she was going down to see her sister so she might still be away, and Donna might be busy as her step daughter is coming over isn't she but if not busy band feeling poorly Donna get on here and talk to us girl pleeaasseee . Laurie what you do to the ride on woman ?? thanks for putting up with me yesterday and listening to this poor silly worry wart of a Mum . Fluffy welcome back hope all your days will gradually be good ones it takes a while and then all of a sudden you realise that you are getting the good ones more often Love and Hugs only about 3 weeks now till Mel is back ? (((((P))))) ok going back to the garden or what's left of it we just culled some of it and now its looking pretty bare , knowing Mike he will be into town to get some petunias this afternoon hehe he loves his pansies and petunias see you all alter on Love Lara |

Nice and hot here . . . thought it would be a smokey day because afternoon sun had that red bush fire glow about it, but clear blue sky so whatever it was must have been controlled. Happy vegemite . . . have just found a guy to put a couple of clear coats on the slate floors for me while I am away for the weekend . . . Off to see if I can get a new belt for the ride on . . . stuffed it I have!!! Hope your all well and keeping out of trouble ((hugs)) to those not well . . . worried about Donna - she not been around for a while .. and Cilla . have you heard from her Lara, hope she is OK luv Laurie |

Hello Wattlers, lunchtime here, I brought my own today, not often this organised but have homemade quiche and salad with our own spinach, radish and baby carrots, picked first fully ripe cherry tomato last night, by this time next week we'll have heaps. Joodles thinking of you in that smoke, do take care! Perhaps you will be called upon to mop a sweaty brow or two ?? lol Awful winds here yesterday, and this morning the smell of fresh smoke - grass alight somewhere west of here. Anna - oooh the rack !! Hope it does some good. Good luck to K with her exams, I'm sure she'll do well. Tony, you got started on the VB early didn't you! I had a family friend work for Brokhoff - did we love going to her place and putting our hand in the biscuit tin for lucky dip!! Mary have a nice day with your brother, he'll be impressed with your unit I bet. My FH has descended into chaos - I'm trying to do some 'Huggins' - well of course, they are Higgins and Haggins and HigHagHug all over the place, and only used about three christian names repeatedly , I need a quiet place with padded walls to get them sorted! Salaaams to our Royalty, great to have you back, Keep cool everyone, and ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ from Albury, mwah Heather |

Sorry to hear about the fires Jood - hope the end is in sight and that they aren't too destructive particularly in your neck of the woods. Jood - Chris tried to explain that maths thing to me but I couldn't understand his explanation so I won't even try to send you an answer! Duckers - welcome back you poor little fluffy creature. How horrible of those nasty peeps to take away your internet for so long.. Shame, shame, shaaame. ((((huuuuugs))))) I'm off to pack the kit for the delinquent schoolies weekend. Uuummmm.......so.....this is what morning is like! 6am in Qld. Don't think I'm too impressed. Anyway, I thought as long as I was up I may as well see who was on here. I see Joodles ans Devily have already started their day. Mornin' to you both. Yes, Devily, I got a few bargains. 2 small, Royal Albert, etched glass, posey vases for $15:95 each.....reduced from $49:95 each. Couldn't pass up a discount like that, so I bought myself an early Chrissy pressie. The ear-rings for Mark's girlfriend and books for Graeme were also a good price. Everything else was about as expected. Still, th3e other things made up for it all. Think I'm in need of coffee. See ya later. Hugz Trifley X |

Morning all - woke to a hot smoky morning. .. Sky is a pale shade of grey (smoke) - and wind is strong (unfortunately). I am sad that there are so many fires here - I don't think there is any immediate danger anywhere, although Bells Line of Road is still closed. (one of two major roads to Lithgow). .. I can't really complain of being hot when the poor firies have probably been out all night in their heavy suits. .. I am off further up the mtn today to a 50th wedding anniversary lunch. .. Hopefully we wont run into any problems. Tassie, I bought one 'game' for my grand-daughters from Chrisco - I'm expecting it any day. Flucky - lovely to see you back. ~~~~~~~~~~ to all, and have a great day. Love Jood |
