G'day Wafflers Another warm day on the GC of Queensland. I don't think it'll be long before we crank the air con into action. Jill....sorry to hear Ron is not progressing as hoped. I bet he's feeling miserable. A big healing hug for him and a fun, supportive one for you, my friend. SuzyQ.... will you have to go on a waiting list for your surgery or do you have health insurrance? You are right about the firies. We as a nation seem to idolise sportsman when we should really be looking to the likes of the firies as examples to follow in life. L'oz...not too much speeding on that mower! You're not practising for Indy you know heee heee. Joodles....got the Blue Mountains map.....thanks. Told Graeme about the fires and he knew exactly where they were. I knew Crew was going to Thailand.....I thought she mentioned it on here? She is going from one extreme to the other. Antarctic in January and Thailand in February. Crew.....have fun with your school bus duties.....do you have a special sign you can put on the side of Lilly? I'm off now to get the last minute supplies for the weekend......it wouldn't do to run out of Gin! Have a great day folks. Big hugz Trifley X

Good Morning all, As Laurie said its going to be a hot sunny day in SE Queensland. Hope you get the roof finished today. Jill, So sorry to hear that Ron's op hasn't been all plain sailing. I hope it is sorted out soon. Cilla, When I went for test yesterday it surprised me to hear that the pins and needles in my hands could be caused by 3 things, Carpel tunnel, brain tumour or a back problem. I am pleased to say mine is also carpel tunnel. Anna, I had several months on the rack and I think it eventually worked, well the sciatic pain has almost gone now. It is a weird feeling, my physio said I would feel as if my daks were coming down, that was a good way to describe it. My praise goes out to all the firies working so hard around Australia at the moment. I just think it's a shame that they don't get the same cudo's as those given to the cricketers and other sports people. I wonder how much applause they get at the end of a hard days work. And many don't even get paid. Good to see you back Ducky. Well, back to some h********k. Luv SuzyQ

Hi Everyone, Sorry to hear about your hands Suzy, hope you don't have to wait to long for the op. We've had some dramas here with Ron, he came out of hospital Mon. then early hours of Tues saw us wizzing back to the hosp. He's been passing lots of blood clots but some were blocking up and causing him a lot of pain. I won't go in to all the details, too much info for you, lol, but they kept him in till last night. He's not feeling the best this morning so we might be ringing his surgeon and asking for advice if things don't improve by lunch time. catch you all later, luv Jillx

Thanks Joodles - I thought so. Just been invited to a wedding but I was sure we had a prior engagement :) Merle, I know my cousin's birth name, his year of birth and possible month. I also know both sets of birth parent's names but only approximately the year he was adopted (he was about 3 years old) I don't know the hospital, but I do know where the family was living. His mum actually left him with his dad (my uncle) and vanished. However, due to the death of my grandfather the property had to be sold and no-one could look after the child so an aunt organised for him to be adopted. She was the only person who knew where he was and she died with the information! My Uncle had actually talked about finding him but he died before anything came of it. Going to bed - at least it has cooled down. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Vonny

Tony thanks for the reminder about that movie, I did want to watch it, couldnt remember what it was called, or when it was on. You know very very well what sort of butts I meant Rudi! .. lol - Seriously tho, I do enjoy the tennis. Still very warm here tonight. This is part of the latest latest fire update ......... Strong winds and high temperatures that drove the Blue Mountains fire have eased this evening allowing for about 500 NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS), NSW Fire Brigades (NSWFB) and National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) firefighters to prepare for backburning operations this evening. Crews will commence backburning east along the Bells Line of Road all the way to Mount Tomah then progress from Mount Tomah to Mount Banks. Backburning operations are also planned along fire trails between Hat Hill Road and Mount Hay Road behind Leura. This operation will continue along Mount Hay Road to Mount Hay. I hope they get plenty of rest, all those peeps. Jood

Evening Peeps....:>)) Lovely day in doon toon Melbin, and sunny days expected till next Tuesday. Barb and i were having a night cap on the decking last night at about Midnight, and looking towards the North-West, the skies were redish. Smoke was waffting through the Melbourne suburbs and even very hazy where we live. Joodle. Barb said.. what a great pressie ( Hopman Cup ) I said...you were only going so you could look at the Butts. I didnt think you were allowed to smoke at those venues..?? Just a reminder about the ABC program on to-morrow night, for peeps who are interested. The Floating Brothel....on ABC TV. 8:30pm Thursday, 23 Nov 2006 They were supposedly the scum of England - thieves, prostitutes and con-women - destined to a life behind bars... or death. But instead, a group of feisty female convicts turned their lives around to become the unlikely founding mothers of modern Australia. Three women - an Anglican priest from Hobart, a Sydney corporate high-flyer and a farmer from Orange, NSW uncover the rags-to-respectability tales of their ancestors, as they trace their journey from London on board a specially solicited all-female transport ship sent to Australia. In 1789, the fledgling British penal settlement in Sydney was crippled by more than disease and hunger. Governor Phillip was anxious about the moral health of the settlement and sent an urgent dispatch on the first ship back to London, requesting more women to save the settlement from depravity. But help would come from a most unlikely quarter. Home Office Under-Secretary Evan Nepean answered Phillip's call by scouring the country's prisons for women of child-bearing age. Together they were herded aboard a ship, The Lady Juliana, to be sent out to Australia. As the ship crisscrosses the oceans for almost a year, at each port of call, the women turn the boardwalks into catwalks, transforming the ship into a floating brothel. They will do what it takes to survive the voyage and doing business is in their blood. These are the canny, spirited, resilient women who-as their descendants discover-are able to turn their sense of enterprise into a passport to success in a harsh new world. Hope everyone had a great day. Tony Oz......:>)))
