Aaahhh....the big light up! About 99% of them worked and those which did looked great. However there was one string on the roof which refused to play so we had a big black patch on one end of the roof.....BUTTER! The party was great, us 4, 9 other adults and 4 kids. Just enough for afriendly gathering. Graeme has spent most of the afternoon trying to either fix or re-arrange the non working lights. He's finaly patched things up and it looks ok. UPDATE: The judges have just been! They didn't make any comment except to say that it looks like a lot of work. Boy.....is that an understatement! We have had about 19 spits of rain.....better than nothing. I'm off to refill the bubbly glass, may as well enjoy it while I feel ok. Thanks for all your good thoughts, they keep me going. Evening....:>)) Well....I'm 3cm dialated ( is that good? ) Everything is go, and bubs is at the starting blocks with head down and bum up, but the gates wont open Daughter is 3 days overdue, and went for checkup today and the nurse told her that she is all baby and its a biggin.....:>)) Wish it would hurry up, cos I'm pacing holes in the carpet here, and everytime the phone rings i think its daughter tellin me its time. 32c expected in Melbun to-morrow and the West of the state of Vic. is on high fire alert and total fire ban. Been flat out like a lizard drinking,( work wise ) but not complaining as this is my time of the year to be busy ( Summer )and gotta strike while the irons hot. Afternoon Wattlers, and I won't say 'good'. The weather conditions here have worsen and a new fire south of Mudgee is burning through about 1,000 ha of bushland. It's class is 3 (Major bush fire(s) involving a number of agencies and requiring out of area resources. The declaration under Section 44 of the Rural Fires Act, 1997 has been made or is imminent giving the RFS Commissioner coordination of the incident through an appointed Incident Controller) and Status Going: Indicates any fire that is spreading on one or more flanks. Effective control strategies are not in place for the entire perimeter. Also, we have just been informed our Qantas, our wonderful national carrier, that although we booked our flights in February, they have oversold the flight and, as we used our frequent flyer points, we have been bumped! Therefore, tomorrow we will embark on the 14 hour drive from here to Adelaide. Ohhh Goody! I just love the trip over the Hay Plains, so borrrrringggg. :-( Off to finish packing.
