Hi all, I expect you are all in bed but thank you for such a happy story Merle. have had a very different day - did a lot of shopping - got quite a few bargains but came home at 4.30 to bad news. Our eldest son has had a motor cycle accident on a gravel road, so have spent the rest of the afternoon evening at Canberra hospital. He is ok and we are so thankful he is alive. He was wearing all his gear. He has a broken thumb and a totally mashed hand but that - except for massive bruising - is all the outward damage. However his head took the force of the accident and he has concussion and memory loss (about the last 6 months) and his neck is injured - hopefully soft tissue damage only. He will be a sore boy tomorrow. However, if he hadn't been wearing a full helmet he would have had no face at all so, things being relative, he has been looked after. Tomorrow he has to see a plastic surgeon and a neurosurgeon so we will be spending our time at the hospital for the rest of the week. Will update you when I can. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vonny |

what a lovely happening for you Merle. I think most of us have had a pretty special time one way or another, what makes it even more special is being able to share it with wattler friends. Off to bed now as my legs are totally worn out from a big day of walking. love to you all from yvette x |

Belated Merry Christmas to all the Wattlers. I Hope everyone has a peaceful and lovely New Year and 2007. It was a lovely Christmas Day for us, hubby was working but was allowed home early, we had 12 for a late lunch and with only having the one young grandchild in Goulburn we got to see her open her presents from us. It is such a lovely sight to see her face and not know which one to turn to first. It was also great to have three of our children with their partners all together, we also have inherited some grandchildren as one of my sons is engaged to a lovely lady who has teenagers. We had over 40mm of rain the other day, beautiful. I had a phone call from my nephew in England tonight and he said they were showing film of the drought around Goulburn of one of the dams here. He said it looked very bad. Today I had a lazy day, no cooking yeahh!!!!! I have had a reminder from findmypast.c o m (used to be 1837online), I have a lot of units to use up before they expire in January so if anyone wants a lookup from the site feel free to email me with details etc. Would hate to lose all those units. Best wishes Leah xx |

Good Evening All how lovely it is to read all about the lovely Christmas Days we have all had. We left Yarraonga at about 12:30 and we got to our daughters at around 4pm at Frankston as there was scarcely a car going down to Melbourne lot's coming up but not many at all as of course it was lunchtime ad most peeps were tucking in to a big Chrissie lunch . We had a guided tour of the lovely new house and it's really huge and in a nice area too so they all seem very happy the rest of the guest arrive and my eldest grandson who was working arrived back just in time for tea so we tucked in to ham, turkey hot veges, salads and lovely fresh rolls and I bought a bottle of strawberry infused wine but it was no where near as nice as the one from at the Balcoonie luncheon. The other guests left around 9:30pm and I tried to watch grumpy old men tne movie but fell asleep spo took my self to bed where tiger hab been since the others had left and I didnt wke up till 9 am we had late brekkie and then we headed off stopping at three golf shops on the way and a couple of furniture shops and lunch in Lygon St.a where would you believe I left my mobile phone I was very lucky as I rang the restuarant when we got home 4hrs later and it had been handed in and the owner is going to post it to me . I got some lovely pressies and some money to spend on what I want so look out Albury in the next couple days maybe HZ LOL Third Watch is on now best show on the tv so will say bye for catch you all tomorrow love Lara |

Evening Wattlers Merle that is such a beautiful story and a great Chrissy event. Today I had to take girls shopping to spend their Chrissy money, and also look for a great ozzie icon ............ a BBQ for ourselves from the money Mum and Dad and Nan gave us. By the time I had taken the girls to numerous clothes shops, I came out with a headache, why do those shops that have young peoples clothing in them have their music, if you can call it that so loud??? Anyway David and myself had a look at a couple of bbq's but couldnt decide what one we liked the most, so we are going out again tomorrow, when I dont have a headache and might be able to think better. I have never been to Boxing day sales, but there was not much of a crowd, as I had imagined in our city at least. Vonny did you get your sales bargain today?? I have followed suit and changed my name back to the usual one too. My Chrissy tree is still up as are the lights outside, but with us going away we are thinking on geting them down the next day or so, usually we leave them up till New Years Day, but I want an early start and dont want to leave them up while we are away, have already had some light displays ruined by people that have nothing better to do with their time. Cheers Sue |

Hi everyone, good to hear you all had a great xmas and are veging out today. Mary we had the most wonderful day.All Kevins family were there except his half brother, and they were all so welcoming and accepting of us. Best of all,our daughter was introduced by Kevins mother as Kevins sister which came close to bringing me undone. Noone was fit to drive by teatime so it was fortunate that we had asked for the wheel chair taxi who finally arrived at 8pm would you believe everyone including the in laws came out and gave us a hug and a thank you for bringing Kevin up so well.Danne had a bit of a weep and said she was happy the way things had turned out and kevin was lucky to have two mums who loved him so much. That DID bring me undone and that little rat Kevin laughed at us and said gawd you two arent crying again!! We have been so blessed. The outcome could have been so different. Love to all Merle |

Good Arvo Wattlers, Sounds like you all had a good Christmas day. My Sunday at son's was very nice, and then yesterday was very busy cooking lunch, glad it was cool, took 3year old for a walk to beach in the afternoon ,had a late tea, we had our prawns for tea instead of with lunch, lots of nice chardy ( the Jacobs Creek was quite pleasant) when they finally went I had a shower and promply fell asleep in the chair until bedtime.. This morning a lovely sunny day with a fresh breeze so got the washing done and decided to cut the back lawn, I know I'm mad but like to do it when I feel like it.. One of my prezzies was a gel filled mouse pad so am trying to get used to it, also got a pinapple plant but you cant eat them only decorative. Poor Jood can't get a decent drink .......... enjoy the rest of the day wattlers whats left of it I also have changed my Christmas name cheers Luv Sandra in the Gong |

Good afternoon Wattlers, Ahhhh, BoxingDay, I love leftovers!!! It’s a mild and beautiful day here in Albury, yesterday was cooler and windy. Santa was exceptionally decent to me and the big box under the tree was a laptop, I cried when I opened the box. So I am sitting outside under the pergola sipping a merlot and tapping away!! OH had got the computer guy to set it all up, all I had to do was turn it on!!! We had a gorgeous lunch with friends yesterday and came home and vegged out in front of Return of the King last night as DD15 received a boxed set of the three LOTR movies, she was stoked too, so gosh Santa was clever this year. DD had a shift at Maccas this morning (very busy, she was a bit overwhelmed!), and we were open at the shop till 12, but now we are all home and have the rest of the day off, it’s bliss. Later today we’ll do the family phone around to Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Invercargill New Zealand. Next few days I like to clear out stuff to get the New Year off to a good start: out go the grotty tea towels and last years schoolbooks and odd socks and T-shirts with stains on and broken things that will never get mended! Hope it’s balmy everywhere else, I suppose the yachties want a bit of wind though, perhaps not toooo much!! Lazy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~’s to all, Heather in Albury |

Yeah Yeah Yeah Fanny - thats the stuff we'se bin looking for (I'll have a proppa look soon, I wuz soo egg sited, I had to tell ya. Just moving on .... about changing names back, and laughing at Tony's story - I got a msg in reply to my first msg to a complete stranger who is verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry distantly related to my daughter, and he says Gidday Virgin Merry, I was aware of the stories about you having a son about this time of year, but a daughter too..?! Anyway - an uncle of mine married ....' It's nice when peeps have a good sensa yooma! Later - I checked that page out Fanny, just emailed DJ's wine club about a few things. That is where Lyn bought it from originally (and I have a picture of the bottle if anyone wants to make sure) - Im going to get some, come hell or high water, even if I have to get it in Bendigo when I visit there! Niece's plane just about flying overhead by now, we've been home a while. Kids were getting excited, they still dont know exactly where they are going. Jood ' |

Hi there, back to plain old SuzyQ Like you Tony, I have had contact from cousins thinking that I am some one new. Now with regard to Christmas decorations. As I understand it the decorations should stay put for the 12 days of Christmas, which started on Christmas Day. Therefore they should stay in place until the 12th night, which is the 5th January. And woe betide you if you remove them one day too soon. Ofcourse, if you are not supersticous it really doesn't matter. But then again why tempt fate. Yes Jill we are having that lovely rain, just steady, sometimes heavy, but I do beleive that it has stopped for the moment. I am relaxing, Neville has gone to the sales because his amp has packed in. Thought the sales were a good time to buy a new one. I couldn't be bothered trailing round the shops. Would rather be looking for dead peeps. Which is were I am going now See you later Luv SuzyQ |
