Morning all. Well we didnt have any indian food at all - I think my bil scared the hell out of them saying he didn't eat curry. It was all aussie food except for a plate of mini spring rolls. There were about 2 other couples (also neighbours) plus their parents visiting from India. Rudee & Lena are a charming couple, very very handsome and pretty - the menfolk are over 6 ft tall. They have only one child, a son. Mum didn't say much, mostly sat and looked! An enjoyable evening. You lucky devils over there in the eastern states getting rain, even few drops. I bought a new tiny umbrella about 18 mths-2 yrs ago, and I doubt its ever been used. So hands up those celebrating New Year, or better still, HOW are you spending it??? On the news last night, the police were asking people to stay home!!!!! (We will be) Have a great day all - we are off to the tennis in a few hours. Love Jood |

Morning Mary, Gwenda and anyone else about, and of course if you are still tucked up in bed too :-) Well we used our Chrissy present last night, and had a bbq at home, sure makes a difference than packing up all the necessities and heading to the park for one. It cooks beautifully :-) Today have got a busy day as it washing the last minute things that the girls need to take away with them, along with making sure we have got all we need too, for our little trip to the coast. We also are going to visit Mum and Dad as its their Wedding Anniversary today, also so the girls can see them before their trip. Vonny Glad your son is improving, bet he's glad that his wife is now with him. Trifley if your looking in hello this is your good week isnt it?? enjoy it :-)))) So where are we going first with our winnings from tonight????? I was reading in the paper yesterday and this is Tassies luckiest year with 14 div 1 winners, soooo after tonight that figure will be 15 :-)))) gotta think positive!!!!!! Well better go and hang out the washing and make a drink. Catch you after. Cheers Sue |

Morning Mary & all Wattlers, You're up early Mary. Lovely day here so far after our storm yesterday arvo. Daughter picked me up from work and we got drenched getting to the car - only small hail at Woden but gee it still hurt. Got into car and it instantly fogged up - we must be heavy breathers - lol - so we sat in the car for 10 minutes or more hoping it would clear but even with demister on Dayna still had to wipe the windscreen so she could see. I managed a load of washing and could even hang it outside when the sun came out, but the chinese laundry is in operation again. Vonny - glad the news is good for your son's hands - thoughts and prayers for you all. Jood - how was your evening with the Indian neighbours? Glad you're having a good time gadding about. Won't be long and you'll be back home for a rest before gadding off again. Trifley - hope things are okay with you Fluffy - hope you and Mel have had fun while she's been home again. Tony - hope the girls are having a good weekend - guess yours is a lot quieter - lol ~~~~~~~~~to all - hope everyone has a great weekend. Gwenda |

Mary, I presume you meant when you came home from Orange, you looked left - wrong - should be right - over the railway line. If you were going UP the mtn to Orange, you would have had to look back to the left. .. Next time,I promise I'll wave, or better still, drop in if I am home (tee hee) I'm home late next Thursday night 4th January, then begin the long drive to Bendigo on approx 16-17 January :((( I didn't quite go to Mandurah today, went to Baldivis, which is near Safety Bay en route to Mandurah. Some many many moons ago, I used to fish off the Mandurah traffic bridge and got burnt to a cinder every day. Lovely memories of childhood holidays there. Ahhhhhhhhhh tomorrow the tennis = Russia v Oz I think. But first we have to go next door to the indian peoples place for - (I'm not to sure what, but I'm not hungry, having just had dinner) Jood |

lol..Love it Lara. Good one...:>)) So are we related mate?........hee hee When i first started research Geno stuff ( newbie ) many,many years ago, i thought we had a town named after us in Yorkshire.....lol....... but had found through the 'One name study' of my surname, and our movements through England, that we came up from London, rather than down from Yorkshire. Some One name Study's, show your surname in the U.K and there movements throughout history on a map. Its Interesting to see and read where abouts in England your surname origionated, its meaning, and where the surname was the most popular throughout time. My surname means: 'Man upon a Hill'...........and thats where I'm going shortly... Box Hill ( where me Bro lives....lol ) If no one puts the Lotto numbers up, i will do it from his place. Mary. Barb has given me a ticket of leave.....lol Yvette. He who pikes and runs away, lives to pike another day...:>))) Tony Oz...:>))) The absconder . |

'Twas the month after Christmas, and all through the house Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse. The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste At the holiday parties had gone to my waist. When I got on the scales there arose such a number! When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber). The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared, The punch and the candy, the bread and the cheese And the way I'd not said, 'No thank you, please.' As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt And prepared once again to do battle with dirt--- I said to myself, as I only can 'You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!' So--away with the last of the sour cream dip, Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip Every last bit of food that I like must be banished 'Till all the additional ounces have vanished. I won't have a cookie--not even a lick. I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick. I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie, I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry. I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore--- But isn't that what January is for? Unable to giggle, no longer a riot. Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet! Hehe love Lara Ps just wondered Tony as have now got sort of rellis in Hull UK |

We had heard that a fierce storm was on its way, we've got spots of rain and its a bit quiet with threatening skies. sounds aweful, but i kinda like watching hail. You are a piker Tony, they're only girlies!! Do you like fishing Joan? I just like going through the motions, even if I catch nothing. theres been a few yikky bellies about, wondering now if its a bug rather than the food. Miles was disgusted with Poss. for emptying his tummy on the chrissy walk home. he rolled his eyes and said ' uuurrr, hes eaten and drank too much' and kept walking without us. Poss has gone, i've had my 40 (+ quite a few more ) winks - even w/out the baileys and should really at least wash up , hmmph wouldn't mind a dishwasher hows Jood wonder traveller going? and i know about that urge to chuck stuff out, heather, i get it frequently, but only the urge not the chuck. and did I see that anna is shouting all the peeps in the uk a trip to her NY party? did I get it wrong? Is that hpow you're spending the lotto lol. before I go, more food for thought , yesterday i boiled up big sago, and we had it for dessert with mango, banana and lite coconut cream. really filling, and good for you too . no gluton. had the leftovers for lunch today and felt very indulgent. hope your rocking along ok trifley, and also is that bike still working Fluff? love to all from Yvette |

~~~~~~~~~~~~ to all, We have this afternoon off as son's wife arrived this morning. So pleased to have her back! Son is doing really well - they have now decided that he only has a broken thumb on the left hand and a chipped bone in the other hand - the one that is stitched up. So maybe once the swelling goes down he will be able to use his fingers. He still has to stay in hospital until he can pass their memory test - he is sooooo annoyed that he can't pass it!!! Shoulder is giving him heaps - it and his head took the impact with the road. Yes - I did get some bargains on Tuesday - seems ages ago. I now have a new dishwasher and a clothesline and some new clothes and swimwear. I also used some points for DJ's and got another dinner setting for 4, matching my one for 8 - so now have 12 matching place settings. Everyone is meant to be here for NY Day. Thank you for all the prayers and thoughts :) Love, Vonny |
Arvo from darn tarn Melburn. Little bit warmer today but still grey cloudy skies with the sun peeking through broken clouds everynow and then. Mary and Hz. Thanks for the look up offer on Ancestry. My subs ran out just before Chrissy, and i only needed this one 1861 census check, to find her siblings and see where her mum was born so i could check for possible birth records. Anna. Looking forward to coming back to the GC, as i havent been up there for a while myself. Barb,Sarah and Barbs girlfriend and daughter usually go up each alternative year,and take the kids to all the theme parks, but i like it a bit further north personally. ( Sunshine coast)...but granny Barb wants to take her grandies to all the theme parks. Yes, we do like to get out and about,and we are holiday animals, as apposed to party animals..lol Only reason we both still work is for our holidays,and a love for travelling is something we both have very much in common. We were just disscussing yesterday the places/countries we have been to since our teenage years,and Barb leaves me fer dead geographicaly...lol Over 80 holiday flights & cruises for her all over the world,against my 15... so a lot of catching up for me. But.....i hold the most places visited in Oz...hee hee We both agree that there is no way, we will lie down in our sick beds wondering....if only, and both in our late 50s we will do it now before the wheels start falling off. Each year we plan a holiday and work hard towards it, and if we win a freebie along the way.....:>))) then we have two. We are working towards Canada for 2008.That is our goal. Joodles. Have a great trip down to Mandurah. We wuz there in 2001 and also at Preston Beach when my daughters rang me on my mobile to tell me our first grandchild was born.From there we drove to Fremantle, then to Perth, then flew to Broome.We arrived back in Melbourne two weeks before our second grandchild was born.....lol Off to check me tomato plants,and give them a bit of TLC. Av a good un. Just waiting on Wilson to post me last Lotto tickets and i will Email all together.We have over 100 lines..hee hee Tony Oz....:>))) |
