Wow Lew, when you make a decision you make one . . . way to go! I can reccomend retirement, just love !!! I retired to travel with hubby! Ray isnt ready to retire yet, he really likes what he does - whilever he is lucky enough to be in that boat I guess he should stay there. But it would be nice to be free to just go do what we wanted when we wanted. He did dangle a carrot about going home the end of the year at one point - but he is too involved getting factory in China up and running for me to take that seriously. Anyway, good luck to you - you do realise that is only eleven and half weeks away dont you - that will go sooo fast! You had better be telling the partners soon or they will wonder what the big smirk on your face is . . . cheers luv Laurie |

LOOK UP OFFER I am off into the State Records Office for a few hours tomorrow (Wednesday) if anyone would like something looked up for them I will do my best. I am going to be looking for a will and convict records for myself. Time permitting I will look in other areas requested too. If you are unsure as to what can be found there - go to the website and have al look - you can do a name search on the index at www*records*nsw*gov*au/archives/keyname_search_2187.asp Use the search facility on the top right hand corner and click on Index to search cheers luv Laurie |

Hi Laurie, if you could be nosey or inquisitive for me I would be very grateful. This is my current brick wall for hubby's mum's father and grandfather. They just appear out of nowhere.!! Assisted Immigrants arriving in Sydney 1860 - 1879 BURTON Charles 34 and family. Ship:Jerusalem year1874, reel 2140, 2486 BURTON Charles 11 and family Jerusalem 1874 2140, 2486 Assisted Immigrants arriving in Sydney 1880 - 1896 BURTON Charles 34 and family. Ship Northern Monarch. year1882 reel 2142, 2493 maybe one of these is they! Charles' wife is called Elizabeth and the first child registered in Australia was born in 1882 and that's all the info I have at the moment. Haven't ordered the child's birth cert yet, that's next on the list after Yarrawonga :) ta so much if it's not a trouble. Vonny |

Afternoon everyone. Lovely day in Melb. 25c and sun shining, and a little windy. Going out tonight to Grandson's birthday party. He turns 5. I rang him this morning and he told me:... I'm a big 5... pop...lol He calls me Pop. Not Pa or Poppy or grandad.... just Pop. He asked me now that he is 5 can we go fishin...:>)) gawd love I'm. When he talks face to face with me, he folds his arms, so i fold my arms....and we have a real ol fashioned man to man talk....LOL What's new Pop!!...he says....:>)) And i relpy.......not much. How ya been Pop!!...he says. I tell him......O'k, I'm gettin there, but i have a few creaks and groans everynow and then. Then he say's......me too Pop ( arms folded )....psml So a family get together tonight for his birthday, and we will hand out a few easter eggs as well. Wont see them on Easter Sunday because my kids go camping ( 6 families 12 kids ) up on the Murray at Tocumwal ,with there freinds and their kids. So not far from you Lara. Would love to retire, but still a long way off for us. We are sort of semi retired anyway, and Barb works from home with the Salon on the property so its not as if she drives Km's to work, and enjoys having the time and making her living at home. She had a Salon ( rented ) in a shopping centre for 30 years, until the owners died and their kids decided to sell. At first she was upset about losing her clients, but after i built her Salon at home, she has never looked back, and only lost two clients along the way. Because i am a contractor/tradesman and my own boss, i will probably keep going till i drop, and also run my business from home. So, no need for us to retire just yet. At 57 I'm still only youngy......lol Well its that time of the day ( V.B tablet coming up ....:>)) Hope everyone is feeling well, and had a good day. Tony Oz....:>)) |

Hi Tony, your grandson sounds like a hoot. I'm not 'really' retiring, just quitting for at least six months. I'm a bit burnt out and need a change (also I'm only 44 which is too young for the pension, lol). Have a nice night tonight. Lew Lew xxx |
