Congrats Tony :) Must be the year for grandchildren. I'm calling this crop of kids the 'Budget Generation' I think a lot got busy after the 'one for him, one for her and one for the nation' speech :) Mary - yes went to police, thanks. Engine worth about $3000 to the right person. It's a very small market though and quite a rare engine. Trifley, DIL had the same thought re Ebay so she and son are checking. Vonny |

Good afternoon Wattlers, Please don't change all your names again. I am terrible with names, what I could do with is a photo of you all, because I am very good at remembering faces but not names. Also, I don't think Miss Biddaddaba sounds very good, do you? Glad to have you back Mary, hope John faired well. You will now be very busy, selling your caravan and house, or have you had a change of heart? Nice to hear from Christine in NZ. Vony, I am so sorry about your robbery. In the days before Ebay, a friend of our, who also had an engine stolen, put an wanted ad in the paper and guess what, the idiot who had stolen it rang him. Tony, Congratualtions and Jubilations!!!!!!! How many grand children will that be? A big win on lotto will come in handy with your growing family. We had a nice day out yesterday. We went out to the dams to see how much water was in. There are 2 dams not far away and the scenery is beautiful. One is Maroon Dam and the other Moogerah. We took bread and cheese and had a very relaxing time. I must say they are both still very low. I have just had a reply from GR about Neville's gt gt grandfather and I don't think he will be too happy. It seems his mother had several men friends and it is not certain who his father was. I will keep it quiet until I find out more. Must go now, got another message to look at and some new hot matches By for now SuzyQ PS better luck next week. |

Hi everyone, Congrats Tony & Melanie of course. One to start the year and one to end it. You'd better have a good Christmas Club - lol Vonny - what a shame to have your evening ruined that way. Keep checking Ebay, trading post etc. Mary - welcome back - haven't said that before but only been on quickly each time. Hope you are getting back into the routine of h*******k. Brings you back to earth real quick doesn't it. Hope Lara and Wilson have had a good day. Lew Lew - when you set up the 'drive-in' just send for my daughter - she used to work at Hoyts so can make the choc tops - she'll also check that peeps don't have their feet up on the seats - lol Joodles - not long now and the mornings will be lighter again - was going to tell you off for going back to bed yesterday morning but then if you didn't have to be up early why would you want to be up at that hour and have to put the lights on - daylight saving - what a misnomer at this time of the year!!! Julie - hope your cold doesn't take hold - I think it was Jood sent it to you as she said hers only lasted a day - lol Anna - good luck when you buy our Lotto this week - we are all hoping for a few more numbers. Susan - glad you had a nice time out at the dams - pity about the lack of water though - some peeps get too much when it rains and the rest of us get none - nature doesn't dish things out fairly. My maggies have arrived for their Sunday snack sso I'd best go and keep them happy - then they don't dive bomb me in spring!!! Take care, catch y'all later Gwenda |

Hi Wattlers Vonny – I meant so say how sorry I was that your car was robbed. I agree you should look on ebay for it, and also local papers (for sale) you never know your luck. Gwenda – I manually changed the time on my computer – it was just too confusing, everytime I sat down I thought – oooh – its only 2pm – but it was really 3pm, so I wasn’t taking any more chances. Mary I was giggling at the thought of you needing a torch if you were an usherette at the Lew Lew drive-in – you wouldn’t have to show anyone to their seats – did you want to peep in the back seats and see what was going on? pmsl Oooooh – Meeeeeee send Julie a cold?? But mine only lasted a day – Im sure it was Tony sneezing – he’s the naughty one. Anyone watching the closing ceremony tonight? Jood |

Had many a foggy window at the Drive-Inn in me younger days...:>)) Actuallyyyyyyy.....I took a girl to the Drive-inn one night, and we were chatting and kinda sorta watching the movie. I was chewing PK gum and did the old stretch of the arms ( yawn ) and rested my arm on her shoulders. Well..she turned to kiss me, and i quickly whipped out me PK gum and stuck it near the head rest on her seat. She lent back and the Gum stuck to her hair....:>(((( ....as she came forward, it was like a spider web, with chewy everywhere.....!!!!!! I never did get her name.......and she never did call me again.!! Dont know why...? Ain't love grand.....:>)) Tony Oz......stranded at the Drive-inn. |

I think because my history has been done since 1984, there is very little to find out now. As cousin Laurie will attest. Tony - you are a smoothie arent you - I can just see you in the car chewing away, smoothing your hair back all slicked in grease and acting casual like hahahaha Jood |

Evening. Just finished watching the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth games. Preety spectacular i thought, and the highlight for Barbs was her lost love, and dream machine Johnny Farmhand. We live not far from John ( next suburb ) and my nephew went to school with his son,and became good mates with him, and everytime he comes over to visit me ( my Nephew )......... Barb say's...Ooohhh did you see John lately...drool ,drool, saliva...............it's enough to make me SICK, SICK ,SICK......lol. A'hem.....(gains Composer) How is everyone....:>)) Joodle. Slick back greasy Brylcream hair was all the go,( remember )and the girls could run there hands through your hair. Unfortunatley....mine was so greasy, they slid off........ and banged there hand on the car window. But dashed with Old spice aftershave, and being an old 50s Rocker with pointy toed boots, a chewy,and a six pack ( now one large pack ) i did o'k. Mary. You are right, mate......lol Chewy is bad for your health, and i proved it that night at the Drive-inn. Well we have another starter in our 'Wattlelotto'...but she is a bit of a Rebel......:>)) Have nice day to-morrow everyone. Tony Oz...:>)) |

I remember the Old Spice and Brylcream and pointy toes etc. Yuk (today) And how could we girls run our hands through their greasy hair, I dont know! Good on ya (the latest Wattler player) - send us all good vibes. I watched the closing ceremony too - now I'm not being picky because Im from Sydney, but I was disappointed with the start of the ceremony.. I couldnt understand some of it, There were some good bits in it, and the Indian dancing at the end was spectactular. I was very embarrassed when they cut Michael Klim off during his speech, to have Dame Edna on - bad timing that was. But overall, the games were fantastic, and congratulations Melbourne. Jood |

Morning all..Where are you all.. I slept in to 9am this morning so my body forgot we hadent changed the clocks. Going to be a warm one again so might get out and do some gardening.. Lara It was great to chat last night.. First one since I got home and I could not remember what to do..silly me..You certainly had a big day and hope you had a good sleep..I would like to get a laptop.. As you have such a inteligent one can you please tell me what the brand is please..I to need one more inteligent than me and can do more things by itself.. Rudee Me thinks you were quite a lad in your day...LOL cant say I ever got picked up by a chaps chewy...my mother only hated the stuff as we used to stick it under the dining room chair before we ate our meal.. She was always finding hard old chewy stuck fast to the wood ..We were naughty kids... Glad we have a new starter in the Wattlelotto. Any one with that reputation is most welcome and if they dont behave themselves will be sent to the naughty corner..and join the rest of us...LOL getting lonely in the naughty corner ,,, need more naughty peeps.with or without chewy... Joodles Watched the closing ceremony but was not to impressed.. It was more like a pop concert and I felt sorry for Michael Klim who seem to have been cut short..the songs may have been good but I could not make out what the words were in most and some of them were not very impressive.. I may be getting old but even Johnny F who I do like sang songs I didnt think much of.. He can do better..I like the Indian bits as that was spectacular.. Well better go and do some work so see ya later Love Maryxx |

Morning Wattlers Gee it is soooo quiet here today, as I am by myself for the first day in 9 days, not that long, and wouldnt you know it, it is pouring with rain so I am stuck inside at the puta all day :-)))) Gee lifes hard pmsl. I had a meeting to go to yesterday and when I got home David had done all the Vacumming, cleaned the bathrooms and stripped the beds that his 3 slept in, oooh I love my man hee hee. Actually I think there might have been another motive behind him doing the work, as he follows Holden and, Im sorry to say they didnt fair too well at the weekend lol. Ford won both races and in the lead overall whoo hoo. Nice to see our latest wattlelotto member, hoping things are going along ok. Sending good vibes and positive thoughts to Anna this week hopping we can get a good divi, fingers crossed. Tony, gee what did I miss with these drive in things???? Actually I am not quiet that young, I did get to go to a couple of drive ins when I was a teenager just before they stopped having them :-(( But the boys had stopped using Bryll (spelling) cream as it was the fashion to have long hair then, and I dont think the 2 would go together too well lol. I did watch the closing ceremony last night, I thought the highlight was when they had a big globe with all the countries being upside down, putting Australia on the top part of the globe with Tassie, yes and we even got mentioned :-0, being on top of the world Yippee!!!! Well I might go and do a bit of work with my tree, Catch you all after. Cheers Sue |

Morning All. Another lovely day in Mudgee - and still no blasted rain! Hope everybody has a wonderful week. The first movie I saw at the drive ins was Sound of Music in 1966. Mum & Dad took us and we were all lined up in the back of the Holden station wagon like little sardines and dressed in our pjs and dressing gowns. It's a great memory! Didn't manage to see the closing ceremony. Too busy cleaning the Villa in preparation for moving out at the weekend, hooray!!!!! Terry's out on site this morning supervising the electricians, aircon guys, carpet layers and curtain blokes. The place is buzzing. Removalist booked for Saturday. Can't wait to open up all the boxes. It'l be like Christmas. Positive thoughts for all those feeling under the weather (((hugs))). A big welcome to the latest Wattlelotto member. I hear she's a bit of a card! Glad to have you on board. Sorry to hear about the robbery Vonny. There's some real ba**ards out there, that's for sure. *waves majestically to all* Miss Mudgee xxx |

Morning all Like Devly, I am all alone today - what on earth will I do with my time .....................ha, ha, ha!!! I didn't see all the closing ceremony as I had a few phone calls but I must admit what I did see I thought was a bit cringe worthy. I know they were celebrating Melbourne and that was the reason for having Dame Edna and all those other old Melbourne icons (like Johnny Farnham who has had more come backs than Dame Nellie Melba). Poor John is getting a bit stout around the middle and seems to have to strain for the top notes these days. In comparison to the segment that India put on, ours looked very ordinary I thought. And .......the duck came back for just a moment!! (Sorry Tony - no reflection on you Melbournians!!) Nice to have you back Mary - you just need to stop long enough to get your breath back now before getting into the hassle of selling the van etc etc. Seems that Wilson and Lara didn't disgrace the Wattlers at Bendigo. Nobody under the table....... well done ladies! Any news about the engine Vonny? There are some low types around. I sure hope they get caught. It is still as dry as chips here - we didn't get any rain at all when all of Queensland was supposed to be wet. I'm flat out trying to keep my plants alive. Lew - have you got tanks at your new house and if so, have you got any water in them or do you have to get water carted? You must be so excited with the big move only a week away. I remember the drive ins well - did a lot of my courting in the back seat at drive-ins! Did anyone forget to remove the speaker after the movie and drive off with the speaker and cord dangling from the window??? He he he!! Well - off to find dead people. Hope everyone has a good day. :>) Anna |

Lew or any of you Aussies, I I wonder if you can help me with a query;; If you travel to Australia, and your flight is late for connection in Dubai, Do they find you the next flight or have you lost that flight/money and need to buy another ticket;; sorry never been on plane and son mid air now;; |
|||
|
Lewella | Report | 27 Mar 2006 02:39 |
Don't worry Babs, the airlines will find your son the next available flight. They won't leave him stranded in Dubai. Also, I have found that if you miss a connection, the airlines usually give you a meal voucher and if you have to stay overnight, they usually find and pay for accommodation. Hope this helps, Lewella (who was once stranded for 10 hours at Denver Airport!!!) |
