Hi everyone, Just popping in to say hello. It was lovely to talk to Mary the other day. I've been enjoying watching the Commonwealth Games - or should it be the Aussie Games - you guys seem to clean up everything:-) I haven't been on this site for a very long time but have recently renewed - you know how they get you with the 'hot matches'. Bet you're pleased to be home Mary - no place like home! Christine |

Hi everyone. Just back for a quick hullo as I have a good deal of work to do..Its good to be home and I had a good holiday.. Didnt get my earthquake and am annoyed that I missed 3 as they were felt in the area that I had just left the day before. Then when we left the next place they had one also.. I just cant win.Same thing happened last year when we were over there. The plane trip was nice as they have put on Air Busses in place of the 737s and they are much more roomy. Weather was good except for the last 2 days when it rained.. Nice cool temps. Now to catch up where I can... Jude in Melb. Have a really great time in Honkers and hit those shops.. Remember Christmas is not far away... Tony Thanks for the Lotto numbers.. I bet Melb. is buzzing and while in NZ I tried to see as much of the games as possible but they concentrated on all the NZ people and I missed a lot of what the Ozzies were doing. You sound like you had a good day out with the kids and I bet they enjoyed it. Hi Shazz. Glad to be back and hope you are OK Anna Sorry to see your news. Hope the family are OK and especially your daughter. Lara.. How are you mate.. I did have a good time and best of all none of us got sick and that was a relief as we couldnt get insurance for John. Came home to a lot of work to do and it has taken me all morning to clean out the freezer which I defrosted before I left but some bugger shut the lid and it went all mouldy..Still it looks all shiny again now...Wish I could go to the Genealogy Fair with you..what a great opportunity to get help and advice .Could you find out if they are having one in Sydney at all.. Would love to go.. Make sure you and Wilson wear different clothes this time for lunch as the waiter will recognise you and warn the others how you do musical tables...You will get a reputaion...If Eddington is a hot bed of sin it certainly isent now.. Dead old hole...nothing there but the cemetary...dont forget to pay it a visit.. bet some of your relies are buried there. Joodles.. Thanks for the welcome.. We will have to arrange a lunch when her magesty gets home.. do you know when that will be...Hope you are well. did I read that you are having some test done??? Hi Lew.. Nice to meet you.. You sound like the fine stature of nuts we have for members here..LOL Keep up the good work... Well sorry I cant keep going but its good to be chatting again and will be back soon. Hi Chris.. Lovely to see you,, Hope you visit often.. For those of you who dont Christine she is a lovely lady who was on this site a little while ago and some of you will remember her.. I managed to catch up with her in Auckland and it was great chatting to her again..they say ... once a genie always a genie...LOL so welcome back Chris... Take care Love Maryxx |

Hi Wattlers, We are getting some much welcome rain and it is much cooler. Yesterday we went on to the Gold Coast. Our electricty was off from 8.30am to 2.30pm, because our neighbours were having new cables put across to their new house site, so we thought it was a good excuse to go out. We took our dog and went for a walk along the broadwater then had some fish and chips. It was a nice change. Yes Tony, I do trust you, just as hope everyone will trust me when it is my turn to buy the ticket. But then I am a very trusting person by nature and if I ever got back all I had lent out I wouldn't need to buy a lotto ticket. By the way Tony , how is your Mum? At the moment I am having problem with my tree. I have two people who turn out to be the same. It looks like there is an inter marriage somewhere. Cousin's getting married and it has really thrown every thing out. Now, now, no rude remarks about my sanity, it was almost 2 hundred years ago and I think it may have been along a different branch. Anyway, I have now got to learn how to merge duplicates or try to do it all manually. It's times like this that i wish I were more computer literate. I notice that some of you don't have works. I don't either, my PC was loaded with Star office when I bought it and there are some things in emails that I can't open without finding a file association in file folder. All this is double dutch to me. Can anyone help.????? I saw Sunrise this morning, and i think that it is a wonderful thing they are doing, getting tradesmen up to Innisfail. It's is hard to imagine what they are all going through. We once had our roof blown off in a gale force wind when we lived in Devon. It was very frightening. The fire brigade came out and put tarps up for us. Unfortunately the same night Neville's father died and next day we had to travel up to Yorkshire. It was a very difficult time for us. I have been really enjoying the games, but I am also glad that they are coming to an end. It must be a great atmosphere in Melbourne and next weeekend you also have the Grand Prix, which I must admit is more our sport. Neville was a racing mechanic and we used to be part of a formula 3 racing team, it was a good time in our life, we got to visit lots of places in Europe as we travelled with the formula 1 teams. We don't follow it as much now, we are happy to watch on TV. Well, I hope that everyones colds and viruses are getting better, flu vaccines should be on everyones to do list, we will be getting our 's soon. Also it seems that their have been a lot of funerals lately, let's hope there are no more for a while. That's one of the worst parts of getting old, losing our friends and family. On a happy note, there seems to be alot of new arrivals among our wattle family, so heres to many more. Well, I must go and sort out my John's, the cousin thing. All my toes and fingers are crossed for tomorrow, Love to all SuzyQ |

Afternoon Wattlers, sorry have to be quick its 4.55pm and I supposed to be closing down computer for the day, have just finished reading the usual 'war & peace' for the day (in other words we all talk a lot!!). Had such a busy day don't whether I'm arthur, martha or Jude! Had to go the oestopath for some manipulation of my thoracic spine - was supposed to help my hernia - and it has! Don't care how it works as long as it does. But have felt sooo relaxed since 2.00pm its been hard to function (no comments please!) Ken would say whats different - its Friday afternoon. Glad to have another Jude back , and Mary safe and well. Now you are exhausted from all that h****work you had to catch up on. I'm sure Hong Kong will fix Jude up. lol Glad to hear you are ok Anna - funerals are never really good,( apart from catching up on relatives you only seem to see at these sad occasions.) but part of life unfortunately. Hello to everyone, waves - catch you tomorrow. Jude 3 |

Afternoon all Wattlers, I've just spent some time deleting old answers on threads because I go back up to full speed again tomorrow so I don't want to waste my limit :) Welcome back Mary. I've felt a couple of very minor earthquakes (one in Liverpool NSW and one here in Canberra), and that was enough for me! Jude3, glad your feeling better. SUSIE Q I don't have word and I couldn't open quite a few emails. You need to click the 'save attachments' heading when you go to open an attachment. BUT remember where you save it to! Then close your email (or minimise) and open your saved document. That takes care of the 'find association' bit. If you have the program needed it should then open it from the saved position. If you don't have the program, sometimes the computer asks you if you want it to find you a program. Then you will have to download it. Hope this isn't complete double dutch :) Someone else might be able to explain it better. IT'S FRIDAY.......... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vonny |

Hi Susan, if they are pps files, you will need to download a free copy of Power Point Copy and paste the whole lot with no spaces When you get future pps files as attachments in your email, they should open automatically. I'm emailing the site separately. Jood |

Well hello to All and apologies for not being online sooner. Today has been a bug**r of a day with staff members away, property settlements not happening, money not arriving and just generally a pain! Have received your email Tony about Wattlelotto and agreed wholeheartedly with the contents. You sure you weren't a Solicitor in a previous life, lol. Hello Mary, nice to meet you, too. Hope you had a great holiday. I'm not as nutty as I sound, just slightly insane, but I find this helps!!! Visited the construction site twice today and the building is coming along nicely. Thanks for your email Lara, but I think our builders aren't as blond as yours, lol. Ooo and Lara, you and your pool. Won't be long now 'til I'm floating in mine. Now I'll have to make sure I set up the laptop on a wireless connection, so I can float in the pool and chat with you all at the same time! Better make sure I have a stubby holder in the inflatable chair! After last nights visit from the 'Cable Guy', went to Harvey Norman to buy an amplifier. Got a great Yamaha one and talked them down from $900 to $750 and even the Cable Guy was impressed. Ahh, piped music to every room, Pay TV to every room, it's going to be just like living in a resort. Bliss!!! G'day to all the Judes and get well wishes to all still under the weather. 'Waves enthusiastically north, south, east & west* Lew Lew xxx |

Evening Wattlers Good news....I got my path reports back today. All benign, so I live to fight another day yayyyyy. I felt pretty confident about it but it is always nice to have that confirmation. Jude, Melb.......we have a hard wired smoke detector and it is a bloody nuisance. If the griller or the oven get a bit smokey the thing goes off and scares the daylights out of us all. The idiot who put it in put a detector right above the oven so it doesn't take much to set it off. I think the battery operated ones are better. Tony... Thanks for the revised members list. This means we will only have to buy a ticket once every 16 weeks. How's your mum? Hope she is feeling better. A big healing hug for her <<<<H>>>> Melbourne must be lovely now. The lights, fish and party atmosphere sound great. When Melb parties it parties! Hi to Chris in NZ.......I haven't met you before...I am fairly new to the thread. Nice to have you back with us. I hope all those who are feeling under the weather will soon be tip top and sparking on all fours. I'm having a early night tonight as I was up at sparrow f**t to wave Mark off to the Coffs rally. The Qld group got there safe and were all tucking into breakfast when Mark rang about 9am. Have a great weekend all........a most regal, pharonic wave to everyone. luv Trifley Queen of the Nile |

Hope your mum is ok. Jude3 whatever that oestopath did, glad it seems to be working Lew Lew house sounds fantastic Trifley glad reports were benign and good luck to Mark in the rally. Chris and Mary Hi............don't think we've 'met'..............not been on this thread long, although after having read through it sometimes I feel like I've been here a lifetime pmsl Well I've got the day off today but can't go anywhere cos I have to wait in for the man to come and check and possibly replace the gas meter. They sent me a letter to say they would come anytime between 8am and 8pm. With my luck they won't bother coming at all. Bright side I can't go out and spend any money which my bank manager will be glad of lol *waves to everyone* Juliexx |

You mentioned that hubby has gone to watch the race cars in Adelaide, I hope he is going to go for Fords? Go Lowndes!!!! Christine Hello, welcome back to our friendly thread, hope to see you again soon. Mary nice to see you back, I have a new mike so hopefully we will be able to speak one night, or day. At the moment our house is full and noisy, David’s 3 are going back to Melb tomorrow afternoon, so we will get back to usual then. Heard there is threatening strikes at Easter time with Qantas, hope it doesn’t boil over to Virgin as we are flying to Melb and back at Easter, typical to have a strike on the holidays though. Well I have had my 5 minutes on the puta, better get of and let the kids back on, funny though, they always seem to be on their for an hour if not more. Catch you all later. Cheers Sue |

Susan when the putor says form an association in the ? file to open this email I just forward it to myself and some times you can then open it or if not then go to file and click on 'save as' then give it a name if not the name you want and click ok then go to documents where it will be and right click and click on open and should do it then if not sometimes if you click on the subject in the email and if doesnt open click on subject again when letter comes up unopened and if none of this works sorry can't help. See Joodles answer if they have pps on the attachment and she will tell you how to download free program so as you can open them. hello jude 3 glad you found something to fix up the hernia . Hello Kiwi Chris and welcome please drop in more often you are very welcome as are any other Kiwis who would like to say hello Hello Julie Cat glad your exams are over do hope you have archieved what you set out to all the best Anna same thing happened to me yesterday I could have screamed as not the fastest typist as only starting typing in fact only had a look at a keyboard for the first time five years ago when started trying to learn putor and still can't just type and not look at the keys so consquently lots of spelling mistakes which aren't really spelling mistakes as such but actually typing errors , so please forgive when I don't spell properly folks , funny isnt it when something someone says brings back an incedant from when you were kids I remember when mum and dad went tsomewher and my girlfrien and I she was older made a drink with cordial and milk and of course it curdled and we wasted a pint of milk and whole bottle of cordial and we copped it too as we had drunk some too and were awfully sick. Yes also you are right he about Peter Cosgrove had the pleasure of being at a Vietnam Vets reunion in Denilaquin that he was speaking at and he is a fabulous bloke and as you say a born leader and has a great wife too will say bye for now and talk to you all soon love Lara |

Hello Wafflers – I mean Wattlers Welcome home again Mary. Im all for the lunch date when Her Majesty arrives home. I don’t know the exact date. Her sister said 30th March, but I have an idea it’s a few days into April. Julie Cat – did the aforementioned gas man arrive? I know the feeling. We are happy to stay home all day, but if its an enforced stay, we feel we MUST get out!!! Contrary aren’t we? Its like having to fast for a blood test, we can eat brekky any time, but if they say not till after the blood test – that is far too late !!! Hi Kiwi Chris, nice to meet you. Lew Lew – haven’t you met our Mary yet? She’s a lovely warm lady, always concerned for others. Wilson & Lara – have a great sleuthing day on Sunday – and don’t dare touch that gold in the river, you hear? Did I miss something ? What did you find to fix up the hernia Jude 3?????? What a busy time you have had flying here and there and now to HK. Lauries plastic is worn out – I hope yours isn’t. I’m off to bed now, see y’all later. Jood |

Evening Wofflers. was just sitting on the decking having a coldie, and looking up at the stars. Beautiful night here in Vic. Julie cat. Would it be quicker for me to nick round and have a look at your Gas problem......I mean i only live 16 Thousand km's away and could possibly be there before the Gas man turns up......just let me know mate....no problem at all for me.....:>)) Hi Mary. Nice to see you home safe and sound. Funny how you leave the fridge door open when you go on holidays, and its shut when you arrive home, and theres mold everywhere. No the feeling only to well. SusyQ. Thanks....my Mum is doing quite well.....Glad you trust me mate. I always remember telling my kids when they were young, that you have to earn trust. Although........i must admit, at a Ice-cream shop once...i bought two of those Dairy Whip ice-creams for me and Barb ( the ones dipped in chocolate...and they shove a flake ckocky bar in the middle of it )......Well i had eaten mine.........and you see ( gulp )...Barb had handed hers to me......coz she was looking at some clothes.....and it was just looking up at me ( the ice-cream..that is )...and it started to melt, and drip down my hands....and well....i....u.... see it was like this.......and it kinda just disappeared!!!!!..... ( poof..) in thin air....:>)))) Hi Chris in NZ. I do remember you from another thread. Hope you are well. Jude in Melb. I think you should change your name mate, cos your never in Melb. long enough to be called Jude in Melb. Maybe it should be 'Jude was in Melb but now in Australia or O/seas'...lol Have a great trip to Hong Kong...unless your already there????? Lew....lol..No not a Solicitor mate, but Barb and i have a few cousin Barristers in our Family of cousins, so if anyone ever needs one, i can recommend a couple...:>)) Well hope everyone has got there Wattlelotto ticket by now, and if you havent received it let me know. Thanks again everyone for your well wishes for my Mum. She is as tough as nails, and will most likely out live me...lol Hi to everyone else and all the sickies. Tony Oz..:>)) |
