SusyQ. Thaxted is about 12 miles ( as the Crow flies) from Earls Colne.Thaxted has over 1000 years of history, and dates back to well before the Domesday Book. Just for your own knowledge, and if ever you find they were around the Colchester, Lexden Hundreds... there were Cooper families in Earls Colne...with Will's that date back to 1400s among others. Evening all, Out this morning and had visitors over for afternoon tea this arvo. Otherwise a quiet day . Hubby was out on the lake with the boat for most of it. Had a terrible sleep (or lack there of) last night. Not sure if it was something in the meal - like MSG - or too much sugar in the icecream afterwards! LOL Talk about Hyper! Looks like nearly everyone had a quiet day off the thread today. For ((((((Susy Q))))) Was going to watch the Eurovision final tonight but not sure if I will bother - can't believe the 'Orks' won!!. Good evening all, I am so sorry Susan didn't realise it was as bad as it is, why are some peeps so rude and inconsiderate we have a bloke two doors up he bought the house and decided he was going to put a garage out the front of it and the concrete truck arrived at 3:30am would you believe that he's two doors from us and I was ropeable as about that time I am still lying there trying to get to sleep (because of the narcolepsy I have) and in the end I thought I'd explode at about 5am and it's still going on and Mike is snoring his head off they were yelling out and the noise of the truck pumping the concrete I opened the front door and was going up there to scare the living daylights out of them because anyone who has ever woken me up especially early in the morning will tell you its not a pretty sight at the best of times,but me furious at being woken but at this ungodly hour with my dressing gown on and my hair sticking up all over the place they were going to either die from fright or kill them selves because if they didn't die laughing I was going to kill them and all of a sudden they stopped and I heard this Lady next door screaming like a banjee she was ropeable and said stop now or I will drive my four wheel drive in here the minute you've gone and do wheel spins in the concrete and she would have too and he wouldn't have had a leg to stand on as he was breaking the law big time having the truck there at that hour let alone the 20 or so guys screaming and yelling out . he still lives there and does exactly what he wants when he wants. so I don't know the answer for you Susan but what Laurie said sound good try it and see how you go but don't let it get to you though like the kids say just chill love Lara

Good morning all, Radio full of last night's 'The Great Escape'. It was very interesting, I guessed all the Wattlers were glued to the screen. I do hope the rescuers will never be forgotten, as they did a magnificent job under unknown safety conditions. The ratings must have been excellent, and it must have been the quietest night on the Wattlers thread ever. Jood

Good morning Wattlers, got my breaky and sat down to read all last nights antics, finished reading before I finished breaky.....thats never happened before. Happy birthday Anna....is Trifely giving you Nefer for the day? Would be lovely to have a slave for the day as a pressie. A little overcast and chilly this morning but not too bad. Might make it into the garden this arvo. H*****k to do now ...yuk! SuzyQ, we used to have neighbours who started partying around 10 every sat night and finished at 7am. After asking nicely several times for them to tone the noise down (their party room is alongside our bedroom)we tried other tactics. Along with our other neighbours we used to mow lawns, trim hedges or garden with music blaring every sunday at 9am. They finally complained that they only got 2hrs sleep and were politely told 'we'll stop gardening on sundays when you stop partying on saturday nights' They still had parties but never on sat and they always finished by1pm. Morning All It is a cool but lovely sunny day here today. Only expecting about 13 degrees but it is autumn, nearly all the leaves have dropped off the trees now. Last night I was also watching the story on Todd and Brant, like most people. Yesterday I had one of my 'secret womens business' meetings as David calls them. Happy birthday Anna hope you get what you wish for. Are you doing anything special? Lara I would have been the same as you, nothing worse than being woken up at ungodly hours of the morning. We used to have a person next door who had a dog, now I dont have anything against dogs but when they just stand in the middle of the back yard barking at the sky, GRRRRR, this went on nearly all night.. We did have a talk to her as she worked odd hours and she gave us her mobile number for when he barked we could ring well, he barked and we rang, 3 times in one night, each time she didnt answer her phone, typical, we did clap our hands when she moved out. Well must go and do a bit of FH sorting out. Will probably drop in after. Cheers Sue
