Well the belle of the ball has returned . . . sore feet and a pooped hubby, but still floating. The lovely Ray has gone to bed, and the chain saw is working overtime - so not much chance of me getting much sleep tonight. If he makes it through the night without the pillow stuffed over his face it will be a miracle. Lara hon, I think u and me should just face facts - we could be sitting right beside this lot and still not have any control! Who would want to anyway, nice to give the laughing gear a workout. Music tonight was fantastic, good mix of 60's & 70's mingled in with the traditional ballroom dances. Have to givethe Kiwi's top marks in the music dept. A really good friend from the Gold Coast, sitting at our table won the pisspot award, but she also won the honor of 'the custodian of the Coat'. Every year the coat is passed on to a deserving member of the Organisation, and it comes with a list of rules - it is not to be cleaned in any way, and must be worn at all gatherings of the Association. It is a ghaustly tan number and it is really YUK, but I am sure she will be sleeping in it tonight! Had some great laughs. I think I can just about get to sleep now, the chainsaw is a little easier on the ears (I spoke too soon) Hope your feeling better cuz Joodles Night all luv Laurie |

Morning from Mudgee and, Lyn, you're more than welcome to come to the Mudgee Meet in February, date yet to be confirmed. I refer to the Queen as Trifley, as it was I who gave her the name. Best to check with her as to how she would like to be addressed. Don't want to offend now, do we, lol. It's just after 10am and the fog has finally lifted out of the valley. Should turn out to be a beautiful day. Lamb roast for lunch, Yummy. Have a good one Lew Lew PS - Aussie through and through. Been here for 5 generations. PPS - Bother about the Lotto. Afternoon Wattlers, bit quiet in here today. Trifely are you taking the boys with you to bunnings, some of that stuff can be heavy. Just dont overload the barge, you dont want it to sink....vision of trifely slowly sinking into the river but managing to remain sitting on throne with crown in place..lol Hi Lyn, Lew, bit overcast in Melb and chilly. I should be in the garden but cant be bothered. My visitors have just left and I've tidied all I intend to for the day. I went to see Da Vinci Code yesterday, enjoyed the film but the book was heaps better. There was so much more in the book, but it would have made the movie too long and involved to include it all. Anyone who hasn't read the book would enjoy the film. OH is saying something about his rumbling stomach...back soon Jude2 |

Hi Wattlers, New and Old, (well not old old, just been here a while.) It's quiet today, didn't take me long to read all the messages. It would seem that some have a life outside FH. Nothing very exciting happening at the moment, I have almost finished all my filing, just the Croxford's, hundreds of them, to sort out. I have got them as for back as 1586. What is the farthest back any one has got with their tree. My mother was an Adams, so maybe that is has far back as any one can go, it's just finding all the bits in between. Can any one tell me why people move into the beautiful peaceful country side and then proceed to fly noisy model aeroplanes and ride dirt bikes all week end. Having no regard what so ever for their neighbours. We are having heaps of trouble and the only thing we can do is keep calling the police out. These neighbours have also put in an airstrip and have joy flights at week end. It is illegal, and they have already been fined by council, but they still do it. The fine must be just like a slap on the wrist to them. Sorry to moan. I have also just been watching Landline, about the governments selling off the Snowy River Hydo scheme. Maybe it's time we also privatised the government. Starting with Councils. We might get some thing done then, when they have to work for their pay. Think I had better put on my alto ego and cheer myself up a bit. Do you ever have one of those days. I will go before I bring misery on you all. Can some one please cheer me up Luv SuzyQ |

Hi Lara, Yes we have tried earmuffs, but it isn't very nice when you have friends round for lunch, especially if it's a barbie, asking guest to where ear phones and not being able to have a decent conversation. Today it is dirt bikes. We often go out just to avoid it. We are thinking that we may move, but then we might be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. I think a house in the middle of 1000 acres might do. I looks like rain, that will make me happy and stop the bikes LOL SuzyQ |

Hiya SuzyQ. I think some people are just inconsiderate, but don't worry, I also believe in karma! Have been down to the local nursery this morning to buy herbs. Have ended up with parsley (curly & continental), oregano, garlic, vietnamese mint, corriander, lemon grass and basil. Oh yes, and a bay tree! Then we stopped in at Clearview Wines and bought a couple of bottles of their sparkling shiraz which is very good. Next stop, Lowes Family Wines to discuss getting cuttings for our 1 acre of vines. Jane Lowe also proudly informed us that they have just own another gold medal for their Zinfandel which last year won the Best Wine in the World award. Good for them! We also stopped at Harvey Norman and have purchased 2 LG LCD televisions, 37 inch for the loungeroom and 26 inch for our bedroom. Lots of beforehand investigations with Antenna Man re LCD -v- Plasma and this guy is really in the know! Anyway, the deed is now done and, of course, nothing but the best for the Mudgee Meet! Hi Laurie, No this is another family. The close neighbours are very nice and I think she was quite pleased to stop her son as she didn't like the noise either. This other property is a real problem and yesterday we had to call the police. The owner made some very racial slurs to Neville. I said to Neville you should have told him you were also a Muslin. That's a good one, F*******G Pommie B*****D Muslim. They have been flying model planes for about 4 years now, there are large groups of them, maybe 15 at a time. These models are about 1 third size of the planes in some cases. They have fighter jets cesnas etc. some times it is like being in a battle field. Then they put in a airstrip and started flying ultralights and cesnas etc, with pilots. Flying low over our house and generally having joy flights. I complained to council and they didn't have permission for the airstrip and do not meet the council criteria to have one. They have been taken to court and fined, but they continue to fly them. I am guessing that they have buckets of money and don't give a damn for the little guy. It is really upsetting Neville, not very good for his depression, I am thinking this may have brought it on in the first place. He is talking about moving back to England. Sorry to trouble you all, I am sure it will all work out in the end. Yes Lew Lew, I also believe in Karma, but what do we do in the mean time. I am thinking of contacting ACA. Luv SuzyQ |

Just thought I had better add that we are not Muslims, not that I have anything against them in general. Our local constable just called and apparently he wasn't very impressed with the neighbours attitude, he had a bit of a run in with him. Lew Lew, you are going to be really self sufficient, no wonder you are retiring, you will be spending all your time in the garden.? Laurie, I hope you are not going to be in Jakarta on the 10th June? Bye for now Feeling better SuzyQ |

Thanks, I am feeling a little better, thanks for having big shoulders for me to lean on. Yes Laurie we have been to the council, have been dealing with them for over 4 years now, but it is mainly the council staff that deal with it and I have my suspicions that there may be a bit of colusion ( spelling ) going on. I have written to Kev Lingard again. He sems to get things moving. I have also been in touch with CASA and I know all the rules and they are breaking them all. There is no wonder there are so many crashes in light aircraft if the pilots don't obey the rules. Who won the Eurovision song contest? It was always a bit of a joke really. It got a bit better after ABBA, but it must have gone back to the depths again. We are unable to get SBS, so I didn't see it. I am going to feed the chooks but may be back SuzyQ |

You can't go wrong with Kev, Suzy, he was wonderful helping me to get the package of support for our Mary. But I would forget council staff and go straight for your local councilor and the mayor. The group that one Eurovision were a heavy metal type dressed up like monsters that sounded shocking . . . from Finland I think they said. luv Laurie |

Afternoon Wattlers. Lazy Sunday today, and Barb and i are sitting on the couch watching Tele. Pride and Prejudice ( The old Black& White version ) with Greer Garson.....who was a favourite of mine. Loved all her movies, and my favourite was 'Goodbye Mr.Chips.(1939) Jude ( in Melbin ) We are going to see the Da Vinci Code next week. Havent read the book, but these stories in books are always better than the movies. SusyQ. Sorry to hear your having probs, its bad enough in the City,( excessive noise ) without having to put up with it in the Country also. Thats why many people move to the Country in the first place...to avoid the polution and noise. Iv'e also been having lots of luck with my Family research, and my earliest recorded ancestor was my 11xG, Grandfather ( on my Fathers Side )Francis Newton bapt.6th Oct 1550 Earls Colne Essex. Occupation was Shoeman. He married Agnes Gunner 12th June 1570 at St. Andrews E.Colne, Essex ( Parish records ) Also have some very old Will's from 1620 to 1700s on some of my dad's side. 70% of my research is done in Essex, and 1,500 of my lot are from here. Being so close to London the resources are excellent, and Cambridge Uni. did a Genealogical Study on the Parish of Earls Colne back in the 90s...and it is according to Family History experts, the most recorded Village in Essex, with records dating from 1380s to 1890s.... So this is a big plus for me......:>))) 'The Diaries of Ralph Joselin' early English Vicar,1600..... and also my 9xG,Grandmother was his maid, and is noted in his Diaries, and some of my Hull family ancestors as well....Because i am researching pre 1600, Will's are my best resource, as they record Children, Spouse, Cousins,Brothers, Sisters and Kin, that have been given or left goods from there father/spouse, and open up new avenues, and name the children. Hope everyone is having a great day. Tony Oz...:>)))) |

Hi Wattlers, Chooks all fed, now time to get our ready, nothing exciting tonight, maybe some salad. Is Earls Colne any where near Thaxted. That's where my Cooper's are from. I will try and get a look at wills etc. Now all the filing is done I can really look into the areas I need to, and get a bit more serious about it I think. Sending for a birth Certificate this week. Gt Grandmother's parents are missing. I have grandparents and Aunts. Well going now, will keep you up to date with everything. You have no idea what a support you have been today, just being there is enough Luv SuzyQ |
