HI everyone.. Just popped on to say goodnight and that it is great having my uncle here.. We have spent so much time just catching up on lost time and inbetween a bit of family talk and history.. So good to have someone else who is into our family tree who I cant talk genealogy to and put my theories to about our brick walls.. Had a nice drive of the new car today and it went like a dream.. really nice to drive and I am really pleased with it.. Thanks for the new bigger numbers Tony ,,hope we win something... I cant say I ever check the numbers as I dont think there is a more honest lot in OZ so I am happy just to see what the results are..If we win something I am sure there will be a big hhhooorrraaayyyy so I will wait for that.....LOL then pack my bags for the old country...LOL Lara you got my details right and I have been married 46 years..I have 3 children and 9 grandies..a very lucky lady... Well I am off to bed so have fun while I am away.. Love to all Maryxxx |

Vonny, I just thought that because one was in NSW (Saturday Lotto) - and one was in Vic (Tattslotto) - that they were different. My printer gave up the ghost, I couldnt print the numbers out to check, so didnt bother, I knew someone else would either scream out 'we won' - or would scream out .............. period pmsl Jood |

Morning Wattlers Well as some might know if you have been watching the news to see the miners come out safe and well. It is a wet, windy cold day today. I will be back after as I am glued to sky news in the lounge waiting for the media confrence to see how they are going. Cheers Sue |

Morning Folk!!! WHOOHOO!!! I've just pretty much claimed myself another Tassie convict. My troublesome gg grandfathers parents have probably just turned up. Few details still to be ironed out, but there are too many co-incidences and no other alternatives left. Has to be them. Well, I'm claiming them until a more probable option comes up. Thanks Rudes. MWAH !!! I owe you one....................but that doesn't include a win this afternoon BTW. !!! Nothing on lotto, so I can cancel the shopping spree? Bugger !!! Not to worry, always next week. Off for more coffee, the first cup is never enough! Rebs x ps, great to see the miners are out safely. Hopefully the media will behave themselves and give them and their families the space they need. |

Bugger!! Must have misheard in my half asleep state. Thanks Joodle. While I was making coffee, I was thinking how diverse in backgound our long dead rellies are. At one end of the scale I've got convicts coming out of my ears, from Irish serving girls nicked for stealing, to a warrent officer in Royal Navy nicked for forgery. At the other end of the scale is gg grandmother Georgiana Partridge, whose portrait (copy) I have is said to have been painted by her father John. Is this John Partidge the same artist who in the mid 1800's became the favoured portrait artist to Queen Victoria?. In a family portrait he painted c1838, same year Georgiana was married, there is a woman standing with a man who could almost be Georgiana, when I compare the two images. If only I could find Georgianas birth entry. sigh!! And Georgies hubby, Henry Steains, whose family owned tea plantations and obviously imported the tea to England. But all that aside, isn't it fascinating the stories and pictures we reveal as we dig up and peel back the layers. Regardless of the immediate background we have or the life style we lead now, in a past long gone all of us share similar type rellies, whether it be salt of the earth ag labs, convicts or the more influential ones. Rebs x |

Hi Liz Sue here from Tasmania, not far from where the miners are trapped. They are still trapped at this stage looking at hopefully later today, but no definate time has been set as they are having trouble getting throught the last couple of metres of rock to get to the miners. The miners seem to be in good health considering, joking and saying things like they are in a 2 star hotel and they are the 2 stars, so their sense of humour will get them throught if nothing else. We are all sitting here on tenderhooks hoping and praying they can get them out of the mine safely, it would be a horrible thing to come this far to have a tradedy hit in these final stages. Cheers Sue |

Morning Everybody. Well looks like I'm going to have to wait another week to see if I can retire early! Not to worry, we've had one small win and you gotta be happy about that! Looks like our Miners will be underground for a bit longer yet. They're saying that the rock they're having to drill through by hand is 5 times stronger than concrete and that they're going to try some low level explosions. Wishing them luck (((luck))). You're right, Rebs, although I don't have any blasted convicts in my tree - brunch of bloody goody two shoes!!! Now if it had been me back then, I would have caused a bit of a stir!!! heeee heeee. The Richardsons were all mechanics, the Audsleys owned woollen mills and the Irish lot were all farmers. The Kirkhams seem to be the most talented, one being music teacher to Queen Victoria and several others being quite talented as well. Pity I didn't inherit any of those genes, only thing I good at playing is the fool, lol. Have just decided this morning where the herb garden is to go. Now will have to decide what to plant. Must remember to contain the mint! Have to go this, so we can have Mint Juleps at the Mudgee Meet. Very refreshing in summer, lazying by the pool. Hey, whatever happened to our new friend, Tanya in WA. Did we scare her off? Don't know how, we're such a meek lot, pmsl. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. Enjoy!
