Hi Wattlers, just letting you know we're back safe. Have just read 15 pages so the jetlagged head is spinning at the moment. Too tired to chat now, will get back tomorrow when I can think straight. Fingers crossed for tonight. Jude2 |

Hiya Trifley, glad you liked the joke. With my history with rum, I couldn't pass that one by when I saw it, especially since it had an Aunty Sharon in it. I changed the spelling...lol!!! did you get the scouse recipie??? try this site, http://www(.)scouser(.)com/recipe/index.html It's lubberly. My dad used to make it, and taught me. One of the more useful things he ever did. I think he must have got the recipie from his FIL, cause they were all from L'pool and the Wirral. Funny thing is, I never knew it was called scouse until I came onto this site, and asked someone what on earth they were all talking about on a thread. I had dreadful visions of it being a Liverpudlian version of haggis or something. Had a bit of a chuckle when I found out it was something I had been cooking since I was 15. I've got the cooking bug today. When I was looking for the gelatin for the marshmallows I found a tupperware of sponge fingers, so I'm making a trifle to use them up. Yummy!! feel like a big kid, I've got marshmallow from one side of my face to the other from licking the beaters. Off to toast the coconut, cheers babe. xxx |

Hi Folks, Finally getting a chance to add – I’ve been working all week and for 2 nights couldn’t get on the net – 19yo son was hogging it so I’ve had to catch up lots!!!! You lot sure can talk – love it Early start this morning even tho it’s my only day off – for a change – was minus 6 when Dave & I set off to watch the balloons. At least today they could take off – during the week it has been too windy – the gods smiled on me this morning so even tho it was ffrreeezzzing the sun was shining, the sky was blue and there was no wind. Heading down the Parkway we could see Black Mountain Tower peaking through the low fog. By the time we were around the vicinity of the Zoo we were in fog. Couldn’t see if Aritiki my lovely Sun Bear was perched on his pole as he sometimes does early in the morning – if he was he wouldn’t have seen anymore than we could. Watched the balloons taking off, the 2 bumble bees that are joined at the hand but after take-off can separate, the windmill and the Scotsman that went up last. In between are all the regular shaped balloons of various colours and sponsors. There was a black one with a big smiley face and after take-off he floated off over the Treasury buildings and every so often his eyes would show just above the building, like he was playing hide’n’seek. They also had a championship going with some of the other balloons to see who could toss a sandbag down onto the X marked near us. No-one got close but the Liberty House balloon came in about 46 metres and was the closest. They landed not long after, took on more fuel and floated away again. From where we were standing we could see the fog rising over the lake – this is such a beautiful city in autumn. We left after 2 hours, feet were like blocks of ice – standing on frozen grass is not the smartest thing to do – at least I had found my gloves so fingers not too frost bitten. Now it’s on with the chores, so I’ll catch you a bit later – if son doesn’t surface and sit on his puta all night. Gwenda |

Oooh, nearly forgot!! Yes to June 10 for the Brissie meet. still working on the exact vict...erm venue though. Someone who will let us sit for hours and natter. Did someone mention (about a hundred pages back) they would like to go to the art gallery etc? I'll be in on that if you want company. Haven't been since last year, and half of it was shut off to public access at the time. And I went with my daughter, who was impatient to get to the shopping mall. Walking around with a grown-up might be a novel idea. lol!! |

Afternoon Friends. Sun is just about set over Mudgee Valley and the sky is changing from pinks thru mauve into a dark blue above the hills. The lights are slowly twinkling on in town and the temperature is starting to drop. Ahh paradise! A fruitless day in Dubbo I'm afraid, although we travelled over with a couple of friends and found a really good chinese restaurant for lunch (we're all still surprised!) Our friend Pam was testdriving a little yellow VW Bug. It even comes with a flower in a vase on the dash - very cute! Rug shopping was not successful, so it's back down to Sydney (oh bother, not another trip to all those shops!!!, lol) Got all me bits crossed for tonight. If we win, I'll pop down to Melbourne to find the rug I want! Lew xxx |

Rudes or Devley, Would either of you know where I might be able to find some comprehensive passenger lists into Tassie during the 1800's? Not all of my Tassie rellies came over courtesy of the crown, and they bloody well didn't swim from the UK. Don't think I can claim native blood either......although a 1% home loan would be handy. lol!!! Cheers, love Rebs x |

Rebs I think Tony may be able to point you in the right direction. I only know the usual ones like Cyndi's list which Im sure you have tried along with googling Passenger lists. But as for comprehensive soory Im not much help. Hope we get some luck with our numbers tonight, but if not there is always next week. Our bright sunny start to the day ended up with rain this afternoon. We hit zero degrees last night so winter is well on its way. Cheers Sue |

Thanks Dev. They must be on record somewhere. What's everyone up to? I am so bored I've even posted on a topless bathing thread. Think I scared them so much I've killed the thread. pmsl!! The man is watching a vampire dvd, so Sat night viewing is out. I grew out of those type movies when Deadly Earnest left our screens. Back in the day when the only tv viewing past midnight was Friday fright night. lol!!! I was about 12 or 13 at the time. |

I can understand what you mean Devley. A girl (or guy) could shrivel up beyond recognition down there. topless bathing isn't that bad if the majority come to the party. Bit worrying though as age starts taking it's toll. I'm not losing any altitude so to speak, just getting a lot more air space in between. ya gotta laugh!!! |

Hi Lew Tattslotto is on at 8.30 here. I know what you mean about having names that you can get mixed up with. I have 3 generations in one family that a person is named Amos, none of them have a middle name, so you have to be careful and make sure who you want, the child, father or Grandfather. |

Thanks Tas, like I reckon, you're middle name should be your birth date! That'd fix it. Chat in about 20 mins when we've won! Lew x |
