First I would just like to point out that neither Lemon or Joan are the youngest of who goes in the pub, I am. I am the baby of the family after all lol I can't believe someone has reported Arthur yet again. It's ridiculous, I love Arthur's jokes, well most of them, and if there's one I don't like then I move past it. It's a pub thread for over 18's. If you don't like the content then don't go in there. Juliexx the baby angelic one :0)

Just checked my tree CB....not a Whitehouse in sight.......so all those Whitehouses' worry not.....cos you don't have a lemon on yours either XX

Hi Kim XXX BC I am not a joke reader either, because half the time I don't get them, and half the time I am too all over the place to read long things...like now cos I am ironing at the same time....but i don't like it being chosen for me. But I love the pubs feeling of fun, peace, sympathy, laughs ...the people...all of those things, but when the pub goes down the pan, each thing that brings someone in, from the jokes to the free beer and friendship goes with it XXXXXX

Unknown Report 8 Feb 2006 18:16

I've never seen any offensive jokes on the pub thread - because I don't read it! Nothing against it, but I don't get round to reading all the threads, especially the longer ones. I find they travel too far too fast for me, and I can't keep up with what's going on. As most posts on this thread seem to be saying that the joke wasn't offensive, obviously someone with heightened sensitivity has been reading the pub thread, which seems an odd thing for them to do. If you can't tell a risque joke in a pub, where can you tell one? Is someone, by any chance, researching the name 'Whitehouse'? CB >|<

*blush...blush....I suppose I better confess....I dont read the jokes, well only sometimes:-) It is more the camaraderie I like, and the fun we have sometimes....XX BC

Damn Ridiculous I call it Lemon Whats wrong with peeps having a laugh on here? (Mr /Ms Reporter that to you means you turn up the corners of that miserable mouth of yours - Just try it sometime) I LOVE Arthurs jokes and even chose to take him into the GR Big Brothers house for that very reason! I have even sneaked a few of my own in on his thread! Keep Smiling Everyone and Dont Give The Jokes Up! ;o)))

Bridget that is all that should be necessary, a polite request, and a polite answer. We do that in our every day lives, and normally a polite request is enough to get us through. XXXX

Could I come in with a point here as well;someone earlier said it could also be a none member, well really I think thats wrong, you should have to be a member to read these boards, ok before anyone says what about so and so, If they are none members they should have a board where they could post things and us members could go on and answer them if needed, but lets be honest a lot of sites dont let none payers in like this one does;;; Babs

Dave once again I have read your post and seen a fair balanced comment, put very well. :-) General Topics often gets a bad press, but it is a good board, and important to a lot of people. If Genes get fed up off us, it could seal our fate, and we will be sent to web site Heaven...or the Hot place, so we all need to think before reporting things. XX

Hello Nelly I agree with you - I don't like complaining and have only made one complaint since I've been on here which was because a member was being unfairly treated on a thread. It also worries me that if people carry on complaining over trivialities (as I know some do) GR will just say they can no longer be arsed with the board.

Unknown Report 8 Feb 2006 17:38

If it is just Genes, then they should feel free to put me straight, I will accept their comments with good grace. But if it is someone other than Genes, then I will never retract my opinion. For one reason, I am not a child so no matter what, I will deal with what comes my way, I wont report to abuse, as I do not need a nanny. Though I do not criticise anyone who feels justified in doing so, if it is a personal attack. One thing that does concern me is this, if Genes continually get complaints (not of a serious nature) about the least little thing, they may eventually consider this board more bother than it is worth. That would be a shame as in the main it is a good place to be. We are adults and can choose to read or not what we like, in the same way we turn our TV over. But the deletion of the Inn reminded me off my Mam, sitting watching the rude films on Channel 4 at midnight, then complaining loudly how rude they were. But if you asked did she see the end the answer was always 'Yes' Which baffled us, as if they were that rude...why didn't she switch off instead of moaning?

I quite agree Elaine, although if it were GR or a member, the end result is the same..... GLAD YOUR BACK ARTHUR!!!!!!XXXXX Heather

I don't know what this latest round of complaints are about. But there is no doubting that there is someone on the boards who seems to complain about the slightest little thing. Many people have logged complaints in the past - myself included - many of them justified. I'm sure the petty complaints all come from one person, or group of people though. I'm sure she thinks its hilarious (could be a he, but I'm thinking its more likely to be a she). Elaine is right though - GR do delete threads on their own volition sometimes, if they think they break their rules.

in all fairness someone may have not reported the thread to genes at all. All we are doing is creating suspicion on who has complained. Art says that Genes gave him a warning about the first thread deleted, then the other one after that went...now this. Maybe Genes read the thread themselves and dont like what they see ?? Just a thought before we get angry at a faceless member. (everyone will have their own ideas who it could be) Elaine x

Lemon , thank you for posting this, I wanted to but had to go out and also had to think about how to word; it; Can I say whoever you are you mmust be a very mean and misrable person, who do you think you are to censor what we wanted and went into the pub for, Have you any friends, I bet not, because I would not want to know a person as gutless as you Yes even if you are a GR police person, Arthur toned his jokes down after the 1st episode and then toned down a 2nd time;; so what the hell 'did' you want;; His popularity;;? well tough you dam well carnt, so from now on s;;o;;d; of Babs (who is nearly a oldie) and is stuck in , and in pain lots of days;;
