I was joking Jacqui lol I have some reasons why I have these views. There is a lot a people my age who seem to be very promiscuous. I definetely don't agree with that. Someone I knew lost her virginity at 14 and she wasn't with the guy for long after. I feel that is a waste. A friend of mine got wasted by her parents because it happened. I just think it's a good thing because then you know for certain that you are in a loving relationship - you won't pop a baby out and then they'll just leave you. And if they really respect they'll allow you to wait. And about illegitimacy I just think that it makes you look really common if you get pregnant out of wedlock - just my view.

What is wrong with sex before marriage anyway? there has always been sex, long before the marriage part came into it. I find the second part of Lucia's thread interesting ..' I read the Bible once and it really influenced me' (or word to that effect). Now are we to believe from this that Lucia actually read the good book only once, and did she read it all? And who at the tender age of 16 can honestly say that they understand the Bible in its entirety? Who at the age of 70 could say that? I think Lucia is a little cracker and has a very enquiring intelligent mind - no doubt as she matures and sees a little more of life then her views will change - she'll meet Mr Wonderful and things will perhaps take a different twist. I do hope so - sex in a meaningful relationship is wonderful, and it's not necessary to have a piece of paper just so that you can experience it. My opinion, and mine only. Jacqui

Lynda.... I believe Lucia has every right to believe that and we have no right to presume that they will change! I still believe there is someone out there waiting for me to come into their lives that is meant purely for me..... I still stand by that!! At 10 i told my friends i would never have children without being married..... it turned out to be true for reasons unknown to me!! I still believe children should have 2 loving parents, but as previously stated that doesn't always happen!! I also at 10 said I would adopt..... and I may still do so!! Not all little girls want the same thing these days!! Lucia..... you stick to your opinions babe!!

Do I believe in sex before marriage? As a teenager, no, I didn't use to, but that was before a special man came into my life. Then my views changed. Jay

Hi Lucia I see you are in good debating form at the moment ;-) There isn't so many debates on this board recently. As for this question I don't see it as 'believe in ' !!! but if you ask do I agree with it well yes I do. I actually do not really 'believe' in marriage and wouldn't be Married now only at the time of my second child's birth I was told I had no choice, (15years ago which was not totally correct & was the wrong advice anyway). Your views may or may not change as you get older most of my main views haven't changed much from when I was your age, (I like to believe i have become wiser though, which I know you will (not saying you are not wise now lol you couldn't be accused of not having wisdom thats for sure). :-) Pat x

I have 3 daughters all with the same man but we only married after the eldest two were born. I was 24 when I had my eldest - so not that young. Both my parents were married but never to each other. My Step-mother told me never marry a man you haven't slept and lived with first - How would you know if you were compatible? Tammy :~)

some of the attitudes and opinions on this thread really astound me...........how can someone at 17 say those things and that there views will never change?? i think majority of all little girls want to meet a handsome man fall in love and get married and have children, but views and circumstances do change.

Lucia, Did I believe in sex before marriage when I was a teenager? No - and this was the very permissive 70's so I was way out of line with the popular opinions of my time! Do I still hold the same opinion now? (40 years later) Yes If something happened to my hubby would I still have the same opinion? Yes. Worked for me :) Vonny

Jean, Glad you aren't looking for an arguement, as you aren't going to get one from me lol I'm sorry if you think what I, and other said was patronising. That wasn't the intention. I stand by my opinion though. I'm not saying her view is wrong. I do think its likely to alter. Just my opinion. Paul
