Well. ,,,,,,,,,,, seems like no-one is gonna read this other than concerned members.... GR TEAM have not replied to either of my messages or replied to this thread..... money from membership comes to mind!! As for CHRIS the death entry man.... he is just an ignorant person... has totally ignored my message... and will probably be allowed to do as he likes and make a mockery of a genealogy site!! I think I will now do my genealogy myself... without the help of any GR tree matches, hot matches or whatever... maybe take a little longer... but at least I won't have to check through hundreds of death entries. Pity I renewed my membership last December... cos I would be seriously thinking otherwise now. Anne :)))

Don't give up yet Honey Rum, maybe GR are trying to sort it out, you know how slow they are when there is a problem, maybe we should ALL email them, just to make sure they know about our complaint lol. hope you feel better soon.......Lilly

Did you send your message to GR ''Abuse''?

First of all...I sent two messages to 'Report a problem'... Second... I have had a reply from Estelle who has sent a message to Martine and she is now awaiting a reply. I am awaiting the outcome. According to Estelle it is not against rules she assures me to download gedcoms of unrelated people to your tree.... Soooo..... I thought this site was called GENES REUNITED???? NOT......GENES UNCONNECTED!!!!! Anne :)

I also done a thread on this 'Check your surnames'.I will be very surprised if anything gets done.I e-mailed GR last year over a person that has i think the whole complete register of Widdows in her tree.Including the volume and page number.She has all my rellies and has nothing to do with me what so ever.Has something like 11575 people in her tree but i think on the bottom line about 48 belong to her.Very annoying when you think you have found a rellie and her name pops up everytime. It matters not to GR who has what in their tree - 'its bums on seats'. its not a case of caring or not, how can they tell if someone is related to you , just because they are on your tree? people have thousands on their tree...who know s how many are related to them in reality. he/she is best ignored Jess x

I've just seen this thread and had a quick look at my tree matches. I too have a load of death index's on there but it says I've already contacted him. Some of the names may well have been in Australia but some never went there. Do you think it's right when it says I've already contacted him?

well for those that have him as a contact and you say you have never contacted him... the only thing i can come up with is that he has changed his name on the boards!! Now why do that if you are a genuine contact? Good suggestion for everyone to mail him... wouldn't like to be him coming online to a couple of thousand messages...lol... Mine is on its way!! I had a hot match from him/her today. I just deleted it. I wondered though, how a death index detail can and should be entered into a birth entry. doesnt make sense to me. Margaret

He is still on the site. If you go into search family trees and put in names added over last 14 days, some of the Australian ones will show. I think I might ask him about each one and not just one or two as I have done in the past! Jacky :-) PS Still no reply from last week though.

I asked him about someone and recieved a reply this morning,,,,it just looked like a bog standard reply that others have had,, He says photographing graves is a hobby,,,

I have had an answer from Chris!! All he has done is send me a few website addies to have a look at grave pictures... I have not taken him up on his offer!! I am away for a couple of days now, but I hope this thread is kept going with your help, maybe GR TEAM will eventually do something... I have had a most disturbing message from a member in a pm (I cannot divulge any of it but take my word for it...very disturbing) and this man must be stopped. If the team wish to check out the message , all they have to do is read it.... Anne :)))

Having passed on this thread for some time I finally decided to have a look. I have no interest in Australia but I checked three surnames on my tree at random only to find these death indexes. They were all from this guy Chris, MEMBER NO: 1565574. Surely this should be stopped? Why can't GR do something about it?

NUDGE FOR GENES REUNITED ATTENTION PLEASE.

I just sent a really abusive letter to this Chris and told him / her what a total plank they were! Not actually had a reply to that funnily enough ;~D If you want to really hassle Genes give 'em a ring :~D 01883 724 358 .......
