David i agree there are certain peeps on here who i feel i wouldn't like, because of things they say or the way they put them. However giving that i got it wrong once, if given the chance I'd probably bite the bullet and meet them once to see if i was right or wrong. Paul is right people can be very different in 'real' life to what they are behind their computer screen. So at times it is hard to know if you've clicked or not.

As others have said, first impressions aren't always right, although in many cases they are. Theer are people on here that I wasn't sure I liked at first, but get on brilliantly with now. There are others that I thought were OK, but then later changed my mind. Thats just life I think. One thing I'll say is that one mans meat is another mans poison, so just because I don't get one with someone, doesn't mean they're not nice people, and vice versa. I must add though, that I don't think I've been wrong about many people. 3 or 4, tops.

I know what you mean Paul but there are some people I just wouldn't want to get to know cos of the views they've expressed or the way they've expressed themselves - not my sort of people n best avoided:)

Think I would rather meet someone then make judgements as to what they are like people tend to be different behind a computer monitor than face to face found that out via the meets Paul

I'm with Shelli - have had it the other way round. Have thought people were nice, then later I have been disappointed in them. Having said that, I have got on like a house on fire with almost everyone I have met from here so far. Maz. XX

Hi Dave I think first impressions are the most important. I always go with them and usually it turns out that I am right

Hi eveyone, just popped in cause this interested me, hope you dont mind. My Nana always said that old saying 'dont judge a book by its cover' but then added 'wait until you have turned each page and finished the book before you decide if you like the story'. Always stuck with me.

first impressions are not always what they seem. impression of people change as you learn more about them, and it swings both ways sometimes jess

Hello Dave Don't know if I'm a good judge of character or just lucky but when I've met people I've liked the ones that I thought I would. There have been one or two on the boards I thought were sound to start with but have then seen other sides to them but mostly my first impressions are right:)

DAVE B

DAVE B Report 19 Feb 2006 21:51

Are there any people on here who at first you were unsure about and then you found out they were sound? Im sure we have all come across that scenario? I have certainly in quite a few cases and found these people to be some of my best mates on here now. It goes to show that first impressions are not always the right ones! Davexx
