Hi Lynda I never married my ex but the kids had his surname from day one. When they started school I was often called by his surname. It didn't bother me and as far as I know the bastard issue never raised its head and I know my daughter would have told me if it had. Juliexx |

Absolutely. 10 years this year. My hubby is from a broken home and he was so upset as a kid that when his mum remarried he didn't sound like he 'belonged' to her any more. Everyone thought she was her new husbands daughter's mother. It was he that decided he wanted to get married if we wanted children so we could all have the same family name. I am proud to be a Mrs. I belong WITH him, not TO him. :o) (shall I get you a bucket)? Claire xx |

you can change your name to what ever you like without marriage. as long as not for fraud. you may be julie smith and partner harold jones but you can put on electoral role julie and harold jones and also be known in school as julie jones. derek |
