Hello Everyone I have felt like I have gatecrashed a private conversation at times, so I do tend to hold back a bit, though I do enjoy the quizzes but have now stopped answering them as often, when I do, it tends to disappear so rather than cause offence I leave it . I am relatively new to this but I think I am beginning to understand the politics of it a bit now and believe I am beginning to know which posts to ignore as whether it's intentional or not I feel unwelcome on them. I think whoever told 'Our Em' off for answering a quiz and saying it was for regulars only is very small minded and mean. This is a public forum and if anyone wishes to be exclusive that' s fine by me, maybe in future they should state that it's an exclusive thread and we'll all know where we stand. |

Vivienne, It really doesn't matter to me if anyone responds to what I post or not. I don't take it as a slight if people don't comment on what I say, and I don't think any less of anyone for not hanging on my every word. It's not as if what I say is important, and I certainly don't expect to have people rushing to reply to me all the time. What I said about being ignored was a lighthearted remark. It wasn't intended to cast blame on anyone! CB >|< |

och CB!!! now wot you had to say last week on the Triv thread was very important!!! about the times showing on some of the answers......now the fact we chose to ignore the times and keep going is irrelevant!!! pmsl and you were still beating the pants off some of the regulars!! pmsl......I'll sneak in a wee game of Triv this week before Anne comes up so hope to see you on there!! x |

Hi folks I just cannot believe how much response this thread has got. I have just sat and read all the postings that have been made and tried to put peoples feelings into some sort of context, and I thank you ALL for your contributions and comments Personally, I do try to go back to threads I have started, to see what has been added since I last contributed to them, but as some of you have said it is not always easy. I will be the first to admit that some people may have felt excluded from threads I have started, and if people have then I would like to apologise, time doesn’t always allow me to reply in the depth that I would like to on some threads It would appear from some of the comments that have been made that some board members are seen as more ‘confident’ than others, but that, in my opinion, is sometimes a façade. I put on a brave face and post a new thread on here, but I often back away from replying on the threads of others. Possibly a certain amount because of lack of confidence but also because I do often feel I am intruding, odd but true, and yes maybe I am just a tad paranoid at times!! At the end of the day this is after all a public forum, people should not be made to feel they are intruding, or that their contributions are any less valid than the next persons.. We will all, no doubt, find ourselves having more in common with some people than others, and possibly gravitate to certain threads, but if we do stray on to foreign ground it would be nice to feel that we are not intruding Enough from me, I shall get off my soap box, and take my little dog out, be back this evening, ttfn Dee ;-)) |

Just wanted to add a couple more things. I think we all feel like threadkillers - I know I do - but I suppose every thread has to die a death at some point - sometimes your entry will be the one to close the subject or cover all the points. Sometimes threads slip down and then are not resurrected if there is more exciting stuff nearer the top. Also with regard to answering those on your thread, when one really takes off it is very difficult to reply to every comment - 2 or 3 new postings will appear in the time it takes you to respond to someone - so inevitably someone gets missed out. Maz. XX ps Jill - please can I join in Triv too??!! |

lol Maz....of course you can!!! Triv threads are very open door and anyone can join in at any time!!! |
