Thanks Alan, that was quick. I am sorry you won't be able to make it this time. Don't work too hard at home will you? Liz

There is a carpark at the rear of the Nelson, you just drive along Prince of Wales Road from the Station and take a left at the lights, and then left again into the carpark. Then there is a door into the Hotel from the Carpark. If this carpark is full, there is a multi storey carpark along Riverside road before you reach the Shopping area with Woolworth's Boots, Argos and Morrisons. In other words, coming from the city down Prince of Wales road, turn right at the lights by the Railway station and it's clearly marked on the right after the buildings which are the restaurants and nightclubs. The Hotel Nelson do have a restaurant and do bar meals as well, I am sure, will check with Alan who stayed there last year. LIz

Hi Frances No , I don't know anybody but don't mind walking in on my own. I assume there is a carpark at the pub? Have been to Norwich quite a number of times; my mum lives in East Runton near Cromer. She retired there although we are all from silly suffolk originally. Its only since I have been doing my family tree that I have been able to find my grandmothers family in Catfield. Her grandfather was licensee of the Crown from 1835 to 1860. Do you know it? I took all the family there one Sunday lunch, the meals were excellent. Look forward to seeing you all Kat :) ps I'll carry a placard with GR on it like they do at Airports!! pps do they do lunches??

Hi Kat, Have you met any of us before? If not we usually just hope that we recognise others with that 'GR' look about them - LOL! Seriously though, if you would feel more comfortable meeting outside somewhere first, send me a pm and we can arrange it. Do you know Norwich well? Frances

Alan, Like I said we seem quite good at arranging mini meets - it`s the larger ones we struggle with, probably due to the fact that Norwich is not 'on the way' to anywhere! Tracey, Hope we can arrange this so that you can come - would like some more replies though. Carolyn, Will look out for your thread in the summer. Frances

Hi Carolyn, As you can see we are a long way from fixing a date yet, so who knows when it will be! If you are not able to come to the meet, let us know when you come to Norwich and there may be some of us who can meet up with you - we seem to be able to manage mini meets better than larger ones! Frances

It seems unlikely that John and I will be able to make it to Norwich in May due to quite a lot of other commitments but I hope you manage to arrange something and have a good time. If you arrange another meet for say August that would be great as we are planning to treat ourselves to a few nights in Norwich on our own (leaving youngest son with his nan) and it would be great if we could combine our trip with a meet. Norwich is one of our favourite cities but we never seem to have long enough there. Carolyn
