I know I'm not the only daughter to have lost their daddy but I wasn't ready for it and I'm falling apart here!! why did god have to give him cancer? What did I do that god took the only man that ever loved me warts and all? God I wanna scream!! Its not fair!! He had so much love left to give to people!! He was just starting to enjoy life again!! |

Diana, that's just it - life is always so bl**dy unfair and we suffer so much grief when we lose someone, especially someone we are so close to. Yes, your daddy was just beginning to enjoy life again but he might have become very ill and in pain if the cancer began to show itself and better for him to move on now, than to suffer agonies and lose his dignity as my dad did when he had lung cancer. By the last week, my dad had gone, there was just this poor old man's shell of a body to be helped on and off the commode, he had to be fed by spoon, and he was delirious a lot of the time too. The strong man that was my dad wasn't there any more and it was heartbreaking to see. So be thankful your daddy hasn't suffered in that way and he will be waiting for you when your time comes, and you will be together again then. Meantime you know he is all around you in spirit and you are always a part of him. I will be thinking of you tomorrow and hope you can get through everything with a tear and a smile, for the bad and the good times. Be ready to step into the next chapter of your life, taking your memories with you. You will never be alone as you carry your daddy in your heart always. Take care, Liz x |
