I get called darling quite often. It's a bit scary when it's older men unless it's my father lol :-)

I'm so easy going I don't care what I get called. As long as you don't call me too late for dinner.........lol The things that get on peoples' nerves amazes me. They must not have anything else to think about, but on the other hand everyone's entitled to their opinion. Linda

I'm with McAnne - don't like random strange men (lot of them on here .... lol) calling me babe/luv/dear etc. personally I don't mind what YOU call me. but I do know that some people have a real aversion to it. *waves to Jill* - v nice to see you! Maz. XX

i wouldnt darlin i find some say they dont like luv or darling, someone even asked other day what darl meant, i had to explain darlin, they still looked puzzled

Used to be a thing in the shops didn,t it - correctness. everyone gets called 'love' where I live, a nice affectionate but meaningless expression. So long as any of these 'terms or endearment' are in a proper context, nobody can really complain. Happy days

One of our customers calls everybody darling so we all have a good laugh after she has been in. Walking around calling the manager darling. He will think I am after a pay rise!! LOL

Jillian dear :O))) *ducks to avoid missile* lolol I HATE it when men call me babe on a general basis - that is an endearment for the 'special man' in my life to use ONLY !!!! Don't mind my girly friends using it - but not male aquaintences !!!!!!!!!!!!!

funny enough I don't like 'dear' either!! :O) just you lot have to promise me that if I use a term you don't like then you have to tell me!! :O) xx

yup same here Marion - an ex boyfriend used to say 'yes dear' and I found it quite derogatory!! lolol

Hi Diana!! x x I dont really mind if someone calls me by a pet name such as darling, honey, sweetie, babe hun etc.....but I know that such familiarity does bother some people. I dont particularly like being called dear tho....just choice lolol.... I tend to call peeps babe or hun and occasionally hen (but only in joke cos I think its a horrible term myself!) I guess it also depends how long you have 'known' someone.....I know that one time I went on a first date with someone he insisted on calling me babe and I didnt like that - cos he didnt know me and I certainly wasnt his babe....but if my pals call me a pet name they can call me wot they like really!! lolol (so long as its nice!) dont be offended if someone doesnt enjoy being called sweetie etc tho - its simply a personal choice. hope you're well babe (lol) Jilly x x
