Well I thought i better just share this with you. I was reading my glovebox statistics out to my daughter , I have saved x amount & gained 3 days 11 hours etc etc on my life. great Mum she says, when you are hobbling round that old peoples home with your zimmer frame dribbling & unable to control your bladder I can remind you that had you carried on smoking you would have died last week! That cheered me up ! Ang x |

Hi James, I have never smoked in the house so that wont be a problem when they arrive, luckily for them though I have a screened in porch so if it rains they can sit on there if not out in the yard for them! Will have to go and buy an ashtray though as when I quit I threw mine in the trash, as long as they empty it everynight/day then I dont mind as I really draw the line at doing that for anyone. Also as soon as they get off the plane and before they get in my car I am going to suggest they have a quick cig in the parking lot as there is no smoking in my car either! Hope your well Debs x |

Hi all Well done Ang the wacky smoker!! I thought for a moment there would have to be another thread for wacky smokers. Hi Debs, you will have to get your son to put up notices around the house 'No Smoking in Here', now you have got the house smelling clean you do not want it messed up with cigarettes, if you have air conditioning cannot you say it will muck up the filters, I know they use say that on coaches, I am sure your children will help you out, hide all the ashtrays if you still have any!!! Welcome to Wiccan Clan,Congratulations to you for keeping smoke free since 2004, what have spent the money you have saved on? James |

What am I going to do? not quite 2 and 4 and it will be the first time the under 2 will meet my kids (born after we came here) but they have no boundries at their home, mine are 12 and 13 and independant.. 2 whole weeks.... Well done Debs I bet you are proud of yourself. I understand the kids thing! My are all grown up now but I have little patience with other peoples little horrors! You will have to be super strong with kids & 2 smokers in the house. I have n't missed the smoking with others as much as I thought, although I don't drink so at least don't have that association. Amsterdam, everyone is so laid back I think the theory is once you have been in the Coffee Shop who gives a damn how dirty the street is ?? LOL Ang x |

Hi Ang, Well it was 12 weeks for me on Saturday so this Saturday at 10pm I will be hitting the 3 month mark. That website I told you about has stopped sending me the updates as 12 weeks your up and running so to speak.. Though have my brother his wife and 2 kids coming out on Monday and if anything will put me on the cigs it will be his kids!! Both he and his wife smoke so I will just have to keep my guard up. Glad you had fun in Amsterdam, have to say I do like the place but the streets arent too clean are they? Debs x P.s love the bit about the wacky backy! |

So today I am at the 5 week mark. Only a small confession to make. About twice a year I go to Amsterdam on business & last week I had to go. For those in the know its hard to go to Amsterdam without visiting a 'Coffee Shop'. My daughter begged me not to go in because it would ruin my no smoking . Well i did go in & after a big debate had half of the wacky baccy variety. I am pleased to report it did not send me back on the nicotine trail & I am not about to swop one addiction for another, boy did that total relaxation make me feel better after some of the stress I have had this last two weeks. However I did dislike the foul taste it left in my mouth, so maybe thats reinforced something! I am so happy with my progress , I know I am not out of the danger zone yet & feel like I could give in at any moment sometimes then again I also feel that I will never smoke another cigarette. Hope everybody else is on track. Ang x |

I am past the 4 week mark & very pleased but still a little bit grumpy :-( I did go out & buy myself some new clothes today as a rough calculation was I had saved £85.00 on not buying ciggies , so thought a reward would be good for me. Could somebody please tell me the web address to get the statistics calculation. Like to keep an eye on money saved life gained. Glad you got through the dentist Chuckle, I too have had teeth problems so may be it is not a coincidence ??? Hope everyone else is ok. Ang x |

Just got back from our holiday in Aussie and it was so odd, cos it was the first time since we both stopped smoking that we were somewhere you can smoke in pubs etc. We both found it really strange, to be sitting next to a smoker. But not even tempted! Just joined a gym as i have put on weight since I quit so now is the time to get that off! Seven months, four days, 23 hours, 36 minutes and 10 seconds. 5449 cigarettes not smoked, saving $2,441.53. Life saved: 2 weeks, 4 days, 22 hours, 5 minutes. |

Hello Everyone, I am still a non-smoker, God alone knows how I have managed to stay that way! It really has been very hard with the awful problems that have been thrown my way this week. I keep telling myself the problems will not go away if I smoke. The last few nights the cravings have been constant & I have eaten enough for the whole street! I will try to keep on the wagon. Above anything else I do not want to smell that revolting. Hope everyone else is doing ok . Ang x |

Thanks folks I am still hanging in there! A very bad day for cravings but resisted so far. I know that any amount of ciggies will not change my situation or make me feel better. I have climbed bigger mountains I know I can do this. Ang x |
