You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers too. I know it helps. My husband was terribly ill for several years and 3 times I was told he wouldn't last the night. He needed repeated blood transfusions to simply survive. Then a new drug was tried and he hasn't needed a blood transfusion since and he now only has annual hospital checks!!! Through the dark days, when it was one problem after the other, many people in different groups prayed and gave their support and it was a great comfort to know people cared. So stay as positive as you can and share your worries if you find it helps. My very best wishes Sue

Lynne, always think positive!..... Tell yourself it will be a good day.... tell your daughter to tell herself everything will be OK.... I worked with a girl who thought her hearing was a problem.... eventually they diagnosed a tumour. She had problems after her op with speaking (it was near her voice box!) and also her face on one side dropped. I am telling you this, not to depress you but to cheer you..... she now talks the hind leg off a donkey and excercise, will and personality have helped her appearance. She now has 2 beautiful children and is probably on her way to her 3rd knowing her. Positive thoughts at all times!!! Jacquie xxxx

I am sorry but I must say this , I do hope your daughter is okay, but what winds me up is the fact you have to wait 3 months for a very important op , so have to go private its disgusting, you should be able to have these sort of ops straight away, I also get wild when I read about people trying to raise money for a victim of meningitus to get them artificial limbs, which should be available on the NHS. Sorry but I had to say that and good luck.

Lynne. Exactly two years ago I was waiting for an op to see what was wrong with the left one of my ‘dangly bits’. On St George’s day I had the ‘op’. I had been given the choice of biopsy then removal if required or immediate removal then biopsy. I chose the latter. A couple of weeks later, which to me seemed liked years, I had another appointment for the results. As my family saw me with tears streaming down my cheeks they thought the worst, in fact they were tears of relief. I pray that your results are the same. As for deafness, Jaquie, join the club, very annoying but you will soon learn to live with it. I feel for Jacquie and all your family and send my positive thoughts and prayers for a successful result. Best regards, Brian (i)
