MY dad was born in shorditch within the sounds of bow bells he was a right cockney my mum was born in islington and i was born in hampstead heath.none of my dad relatives are alive now and just my mum is alive out of her family. |

Hi Jackie both sides of my family all born Custom house E16 {Victoria/Albert Docks}and hubbies side too } we married1960 and moved to South East London end 1963 as i was expecting our second child we lived in Nunhead Peckam for 12yrs then moved to Peterborough Cambs, been here 33yrs now wouldnt go back if you paid me!! Daughter in West Yorkshire got 21yr old and 16yr old. our Son is in Peterborough got 13yr old and 10yr old. good life now what more can one ask for ?Jean. |

hi jackie all my mothers family are from bromley middlesex & a really nice lady jane pointed me in the direction of a few more going back 2 1836 ,my mother married my father who was a swansea boy, i was born dagenham & we moved 2 wales when i was about 4 maybe 5 ,so i can,t claim 2 be a cockney but my mother & her family are but all of them in dagenham now except my mother ,she still has her cockney accent not as strong but everyone knows she,s a londoner when she chats (this is a lot )) ! lol bye 4 now sue |

I was born in St Marys Stratford which was still Essex in 1964. Mum was born Leyton (She has moved no more than 200 yards in 65 years) Dad was born Southend municipal Hospital but all his siblings born Shoreditch. Dad's family moved to Leyton after getting bombed out of Romford during the blitz. (I never did understand the logic of that one!) |
