Yep, that's where the heritage centre is now down beside the station. Was it called the dormitories or sumat?? Do you know Jean Ritchie in Mallaig?? (aka Mary Jane Mclean?) |

Left there a long time ago. Must have been 1965 in June. My stepfather was Shepherd/Keeper there, but I went to school in Mallaig and stayed in the old hostel |

oh I've been to Mallaig too!!! lolololol Love Fort William...well more to the point going up that direction to Glenfinnan and Spean Bridge!! oh I feel a road trip coming on in the summer again.... Try to take the kids out and about to where I used to go as a wee girl.....the two older ones have been up the Glenfinnan monument but the wee one hasnt yet...mind you she would likely try and jump off it!! lol |

See you cany go anywhere without banging into someone you know or know's where you live!!! Wee example for you........Friends of mine & my hubbies, went to somehwere hot (cany remember but may have been corfu or the likes) for a holiday, and they decided to go for wee boat trip to cool down they were in the que getting aboard and the skipper was making general converstaion to the tourists (very good english apparantly) asking them where they were from and all that, well my mates hubby thought 'this'll knacker him he won't know where we're from' 'we're from a village fairly near fortwilliam' 'do you know Mallaig?' the skipper said 'yeah, I do, just back from camping on traigh beach that I do every year!!' How's that for traveling half way round the world & someone from corfu know's where you stay????!!!!! |
