Hi Huia, Loved your story about Murphy & Minty, sounds like they were real characters....somewhat similar to the antics my 3 furry critters get up to...lol Pahiatua |

Home again. I was born and grew up in Pukekohe. Hill of the Kohekohe trees. Re the dog (Murphy) and cat (Minty), they came to us together, they left us together. Thought of that as I was driving in to town, tears came to my eyes again. We got them both from the SPCA when they were pup/kitten. Murphy was a foxy cross (probably cattle dog). Mostly white except when he leant on our exhaust pipe. OH called it his tattoo. Minty was ginger tabby with white bib and socks. Supposedly a male but when I first took her to the vet for innoculations he said 'arent you a pretty little girl'. I said 'WHAAAAT!' Had paid the SPCA for vouchers to get them fixed up, cheaper for males than females but vet said he wouldnt charge extra. They were good mates. Murphy would chase Minty down the garden path then we would hear a thundering of hooves as they came back, Minty chasing Murphy. I can just picture them wherever they are now chasing each other around. |
