And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda. And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth. And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost. Luke 1 ch. v 38-41 King James Bible. Gwyn |

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of his father David. And He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever, and of His kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel,How shall this be,seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her,The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee;therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. And behold, thy cousin Elizabeth, she also hath conceived a son in her old age;and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke ch.1 v 32-37 King James Bible. Gwyn |

Following on from verses 26-28. And when she saw him,she was troubled at his saying and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary ; for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shall call His name JESUS. Luke ch.1 v 29-31 King James Bible. Gwyn |

Luke Ch 2. v 1 - 7 In those days an order went out from Caesar Augustus that a census should be taken of the whole world. This census was taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria. Everyone was required to return to his ancestral home for this registration. And because Joseph was a member of the royal line, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, King David's ancient home - journeying there from the Galilean village of Nazareth. He took with him Mary, his fiancee, who was obviously pregnant by this time. And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born; and she gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the village inn. |

There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. John 1:6-9 Remember - Jesus is the Reason for the Season. |

Every good gift and every perfect present comes from Heaven;it comes down from God,the Creator of the heavenly lights, who does not change or cause darkness from turning. By His own will he brought us into being through the word of truth,so that we should have first place among all His creatures. James 1 v 17-18 Good News Bible. Have a peaceful weekend. Gwyn |

Luke Chapter 1. v 26 - 40 Beginning Dec 1st. In the sixth month of (cousin) Elizabeth's pregnancy the angel Gabriel was sent by God to Nazareth, a town of Galilee, to a virgin named Mary who was engaged to Joseph, a descendant of David. The angel, as he approached her, said 'Greetings, favoured one. The Lord is with you.' But she was troubled at his message and reflected what sort of greeting this might be. The angel said to her, 'Have no fear Mary, for you have found favour with God. And lo, you will conceive in your womb, and give birth to a son and you shall call him Jesus.' He shall be very great and shall be called the Son of God. And the Lord God shall give him the throne of his ancestor David. And he shall reign over Israel forever; his kingdom shall never end. Mary asked the angel, 'but how can I have a baby? I'm a virgin.' The angel replied, ' The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of God shall overshadow you; so the baby born to you will be utterly holy - the Son of God. Furthermore, six months ago your relative Elizabeth - the barren one, they called her - became pregnant in her old age! For every promise from God shall surely come true'. Mary said, 'I am the Lord's servant and I am willing to do whatever he wants. May everything you said come true.' And then the angel disappeared. A few days later, Mary hurried to the highlands of Judea to the town where Zacharis lived to visit Elizabeth. |

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ took place. His mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they were married, she found out that she was going to have a baby by the Holy Spirit. Joseph was a man who always did what was right, but he did not want to disgrace Mary publicly; so he made plans to break the engagement privately. While he was thinking about this,an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, Joseph descendant of David,do not be afraid to take Mary to be your wife . For it is by the Holy Spirit that she has conceived. She will have a son,and you will name Him Jesus---because He will save His people from their sins. Matthew 1 v 18- 21 Good News Bible. Gwyn |

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. John chap. 1 verses 1-4 |

Philippians 2 v 9 GNB WEDNESDAY: Jesus answered, whoever drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water that I will give, will never be thirsty again.
