The Great Commandment. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind. and with all your strength. The second most important commandment is this: Love your neighbour as you love yourself. There is no other commandment more important than these two Mark 12 v 30-31 Good News Bible. Paul and Silas put thier faith in god when they were in prison. this is one of my favourite verses 'about mid night Paul and Silas were praying and singing songs to God. the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly, there was a big earthquake. It was so strong that it shook the foundation of the jail. Then all the doors were open. All the prisoners were freed form their chains.' and Pauls answer in verse 28 'don't hurt yourself we are all here!' Acts 16 verse 25 and 26 and 28 taken from International children's Bible |

James 3 v 17, 18 But the wisdom from above is pure first of all; it is also peaceful, gentle and friendly; it is full of compassion and produces a harvest of good deeds; it is free from prejudice and hypocrisy. And goodness is the harvest that is produced from the seeds the peacemakers plant in peace. Vonny |

What a great thread. Haven't time to read through it all cos pc keeps switching itself off, hot weather, new one coming next week. So hope my favourite hasn't been on already. Sorry it's got to be John 3:16 'For God so loved the world, that he gave, his only Son, that all who believe in Him, may not perish but have eternal life.' After all would you give up your only child for someone good let alone bad, to suffer and die, so that they could go free and live? I wouldn't . But God has done just that. |

If a man say, I love God,and hateth his brother, he is a liar; for he that loveth not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment have we from Him, that he who loveth God love his brother also. John1 chpt. 4 v 20-21 Gwyn |

In Baptism we are all members of God`s family. And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and ,lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. St Mark 28 v 18-20 King James version. |

And Jesus answered them, 'Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass,it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer believe that you receive it, and you will. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.' Mark chap.11 verses 22 -25 RSV |
