Ruth xx. Where abouts in Scotland are you? I love Scotland. Vonny....I have a cousin called Yvonne ...we call her Yonny... its a lovely name....what does it mean?..could it be taken from Eve?...does it mean Mother? God is our refuge and strength, an ever - present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Psalm 46 : 1-3 Hetty |

Judging Others. Do not judge others, and God will not judge you, do not condemn others, and God will not condemn you, forgive others, and God will forgive you. Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands- all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you. . St Luke 6 v 37 Gwyn |

A nice, dare I say, brave thread. I always like the verse from revelations (3.20 from memory)- 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door........'(remembering in the famous picture, that the the catch on the door is only on one side, for you to open.) Happy days |

Psalm 130 1 Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD; 2 O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. 3 If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? 4 But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared. 5 I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope. 6 My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. 7 O Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. 8 He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins. |

Happy are you when people insult you and persecute you and tell all kinds of evil lies against you because you are my followers. Be happy and glad, for a great reward is kept for you in heaven. This is how the prophets who lived before you were persecuted. Matthew 5v.11 |

Oh Vonny I've not been on the boards for sometime and have come across your thread. Its been such a blessing and encouragement to see so many people adding their favourite verses and thereby giving their own little testimonies. Thank you all so much. I have so many favourites but the Lord used John 11:25 to bring me to faith, so I'll quote that now: Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And for those whose burdens get so heavy sometimes: Cast all your cares upon Him, for He careth for you. 1 Peter 5: 7 Many Blessings Dorothy |

Let all bitterness, and wrath and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice. And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ`s sake has forgiven you. Ephesians 4 v 31--32 |
