hi all I have such a good time in dundee I'll be sad to go, but at the same time I can't wait to meet more people and see more of scotland. I watched the fireworks yesterday with Jennifer, anthony and family, it was also dancing sheilas' birthday so i got cake and bubbly too! I'm going to montrose tomorrow on the train where anne will pick me up and take me to stonehaven, I'm going to miss anthonys' first birthday but he has lots of photos to remember me by. love GB |

Nudging to remind relayers that I wont be around for a couple of weeks, unless I can get Daughters PC working. Have to do a complete re-install of Windows. Hubby takes his laptop back in half hour. Jenny |

Just to let you know that my laptop is broken, so I do not have access to my main Blue*onder Email and not likely to for a couple of weeks. I have Hubby's laptop at the mo, until he takes it back to work tomorrow. So if anyone needs me concerning the relay, please phone me and I will return your call immediatley. Dancing Sheila and Woody have my number. Thanks Jenny. |

Hi there........just adding to my part of the relay.........I know there was supposed to be a change over in Skye from Woody to me and then I'll hand over 10 miles on the road to Polly........and from there who know's where's next??? Anyway.........I can wrap calmac round my little finger if I want but changing timetables is impossible so whatever I have to do will have to be done around the lovley winter timetable.....bearing in mind weather etc coz as much as I love Skye I not wana get stuck there!!!!!...............But from what I can make out.......and someone please correct me if I'm wrong..........that GB isn't up this way until after the new year now???? Is that right?????..........well my link is still here so someone can keep me informed when she's getting closer!!!!........I'll then work out a plan of action according to ferry timetables etc!!!! All the best to GB and hope she's having a fabby time!!! I do have a special Glenfinnan meet keyring for her and had planned on giving it to her when she made her way back up here............remind me GB about your keyring!!! RDA.x. |

Hi Jenny, sorry missed this yesterday. Distances aren't too bad - Dundee to Stonehaven about 30 odd miles and about 15-20 then to Aberdeen (I think!), then to Ellon probably about 30 miles. Now if I'm wrong in my distances then sorry, ladies - but I'm a West-Coaster!! I'm 100 miles from Aberdeen but itching to get through in midweek to search some records! I've joined a new Scottish site hence my absences from here, and have gleaned lots of tips! Today is really cold and the promised snow has fallen on the Cairngorms, but that's also a long way from here. Think GB will need her hat and mittens! We'll look after things, Jenny, please don't worry. Christine x |

Hi Woody, hope you are well? Just taking a break from painting the hall and landing ceilings. I just wish I knew Scotland better. I dont really know the distances between Jen in Dundee to Anne in Stonehaven to Kathy in Aberdeen to Sue in New Deer and then to yourself. Perhaps if someone can enlighten me, and then I ask how long each member thinks they need GB for, we could get a better idea. I am wondering if we should get GB back before the bad weather sets in. Jenny. Views and ideas welcome from anyone please. |

Good morning everyone and of course Gaynor Bear. GB, I do hope you are being good and are well rested. You have a mammouth task ahead of you. Winter in Scotland can get very cold and you shall see lots of snow. Sheila, pleased you have been able to sort everything out with Plan B. Your a Star. Anne, Kathy, Sue, I am sure you will really enjoy having GB. Please remember, you have not got to do anything 'special' with GB. But if you do have plans can you keep me and Sheila informed and let us have a rough idea how long you are likely to need GB for. I am surmising, Sue will probably have GB around Christmas and the New Year, this is fine by me. Woody are you ok to have GB during January, are you hoping to take her to Skye with you in January? I really do need to have GB back with me late February early March. I want to arrange her wedding for March at Gretna Green. Then a party in Tynemouth when she arrives back home. Come April it will be two years since the start of the Gaynor Bear Relay. I am still hoping for a big meet up somewhere central for everyone that would like to attend. Please can I ask, if anyone has photographs on the relay site and needs to remove them, can they let me know before you do so. I still hope to choose the best 12 for the Gaynor Bear Relay Calender. My membership with GR runs out a the begining of May. I doubt very much that I shall be renewing it. So I really do need to have everything finalised before April is out. Thank you all. Jenny xx |

Good luck to GB and all of her hosts / hostesses. I was thinking of her alot this weekend and remembering that it was one year ago this weekend that she was here with me in the south east, waving across the Channel to our GR friends in France. Gwyn |

I'll hope for the best then, Sheila. I'll do what I can anyway. Dec is going to be a very busy month both in the cafe and also the canteen we run as they'll need 24 hour cover then. We do Christmas lunches as well as Buffets and hope to get plenty bookings. |

Hi everyone, Currently Jen in Dundee and Raven Anne in Stonehaven are arranging a handover. This is plan B as one link has fallen through. After Anne GB will go to Kathy near the Sea in Aberdeen, then Sue Hazzard in New Deer and then it should be Woody. If there are timing problems I'll need to discuss options with Jenny. Can we just get an idea of the next couple of handovers and then see where we are. Yes, it has taken a bit longer than expected and that is unfortunate. Will keep you all informed. Sheila |

I'm wondering as well Sue!! I'll be off to Skye this weekend 3rd/4th Nov and again on Nov 18th and then not till January. I'm planning a few days in England from 25th Nov and hoping to go to Middlesborough meet if I can. Cafe is always very busy in Dec and early Jan, also have people off on holiday. Therefore I'll not be able to take part 24th Nov till mid January. Sorry about that but I really thought she'd have been up this way by now, she must be walking! |

Thank you for keeping us briefed Jenny, it is good to know where she is/will be. What a pity that somebody has let you down. maybe it is something outside of their control, PC problems or ill health. Maybe GB will get to build a snowman then if she is to winter in Scotland! Ann Glos |

Sorry to bring this thread up onto page 1, as it seems someone was so fed up of seeing it on page 1 all the time. But after 18 months of trying to keep the Gaynor Bear Relay going and after we have all raised just over FOUR thousand pounds, for Cancer Research UK, I do need to post occasionaly. We have a little problem at the moment as a member has not replied to our messages or emails. ..We are just presuming they are no longer interested or able to take part, but it would have been nice to have had an answer one way or another. So the Co-ordinator in Scotland is having to go into plan B mode. This is going to cause a slight delay in the relay. I did post way back, that GB would not be able to go with my Daughter to Florida, and also not able to go with my other Daughter to New York. I am sure GB will now spend the New Year in Scotland. Where I would love to see the New Year in also. 'Pigs might fly' says Jenny. Gaynor Bear and her Beau will still be getting married at Gretna Green, in the Spring. Her wedding dress will be unique. I am in touch with the designer and maker of the dress and I have been given choices of pearls, diamonds or sequins on the bodice. But the secret is mine and the designer's. I will keep you all infomed about all events as soon as I know when they are about to happen. Jenny xx |

Florida's off, Ann - think it's because of the added security etc, have a read of the messages, it's a couple of pages back. Hope she heads up here soon before that white stuff starts falling as I'd like to hibernate then! I'm hoping to get a holiday at the end of November but will be in Skye on 18th Nov so would be nice to take GB and hand over to RDA and Polly. Polly, I'm going to Ft Wm on Wed or Thu this week if you're both free. |
