Hi Sheila and Jenny, Thanks for your good wishes - I am pleased to say that the flu is on the way out, think it got blown away with the gales! I've just realised I'm in touch with Kathy on scotfamtree site! She helps out at the Abdn FHS and is only online when she's in there. She's extremely good at searching records, I've seen her work. You'll need to join, Sheila - great site. As I'm feeling better I'm going to Middlesburgh on Friday and York on Sunday but will be back home on Tuesday so can be back in the loop whenever. It's our anniversary on Wed 29th and we'll miss out on our usual hols so it's just a weekend away. By then, Kathy should be back online as well so can link up with either her or Sue. Dec is tight but not impossible! And I'm hoping for a wee saunter to Glasgow so can liaise with you for handover if reqd. Off to bed, goodnight all. Christine |

Hi Woody, good to hear you are feeling better. Enjoy Middlesbrough and York and your anniversary and I'll talk to you next week. I did wonder if you might know Kathy, hopefully some of you may be able to get together with GB once we get her moving again. Have fun. Sheila |

Just a little nudge to let you know that I have Hubby's laptop for just for the weekend. I cannot believe it has been over a month since I have not been able to post. Its a long story about my own laptop, not very pleased about it's demise at all. Com*t and HP have a lot to answer to. I am now waiting for a replacement to be delivered. So pleased to see GB has moved a little further. I really need to re-cap on whereabouts she now is and get back into the swing of things. I see on the news that Scotland is getting some very wet and windy weather. If someone could please update me on Gaynor Bear, and let me know where she is going to be over the holiday period. I will answer all my PM's over the weekend. Jenny. xx |

Hi Jenny, She is with Sue H. in New Deer (near Aberdeen). Quite possible that is where she will open her prezzies. As expected December turned into a very busy time for me - I'm working from 5am till 5pm most days (home at 2pm today though) and not nearly ready for Christmas! I'll be in touch with Sheila after the New Year. I believe GB will go to Kathy and I can pick her up then. I'll prob be able to get to a meeting of Aberdeen FHS in Jan so hope to pick her up then if all goes to plan. Either that or she'll head back down the East Coast to Jilly. Merry Christmas to you all - let's hope for a peaceful and quiet 2007. Christine x |

Thanks Christine for confirming GB's whereabouts. Was pretty sure she would be in New Deer with Sue, so I put it in the main title. I am sure GB will have a smashing Christmas and can think of no other place for her to be to see in the New Year. Lucky GB. Sue, it would be great if you could get some photographs of GB on Christmas morning, also some of her on New Years Eve, if possible. Have fun with her. Have had phone call from Com*t, new laptop is to be delivered this coming Tuesday, so I should be around more often again. Speak again soon. Jenny x |

Well, we are nearly into the 2nd week of the 2007. I hope all you relayer's and followers, ( what few are left on GR) have had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I have refrained from posting until now, to ask when the next handover will be, as I have appreciated that you all have to get back into your daily routine after the holiday period. Although I must say, I have been rather worried that we have not heard anything about Gaynor Bear's antics since Sue Hazzard's last post on the 17th December. I do hope everything it alright with you and yours Sue? Has anyone heard from Dancing Sheila or Sue Hazzard? All I know of Sue is that she lives in New Deer. I have no contact email, phone number or anything. If we could just get GB moving again before the really bad weather sets in I shall be very happy. So if someone can let me know what is planned during the next few weeks I would be grateful. I shall be around until late this evening and very early in the morning. Then I shall be away on holiday until around 7pm on Friday. Thanks Jenny. xx |

Hello to all those that are still following the Gaynor Bear Relay. Just to let you know that I am now back home after a five day holiday. I have been in touch with 'Dancing Sheila' and she tells me that she will no longer be posting on GR. Although she will still keep in touch with me, via PM's, and try to get GB onto Inverness. Goodness knows where she will be going next. We must all remember Shelia very kindly offered to take over from Jilly after we were told Jilly was poorly. As we all know Scotland is a big area to cover and we have hardly any members in the area. GB has met most of the members, that we have in Scotland. But there are still a few waiting and wanting to see GB and help her on her way. But I really do have to get these last few legs of the GAYNOR BEAR RELAY sorted. I need to know who is or not still available. Can you all post on this thread or via PM's to let me know. THE GAYNOR BEAR RELAY WAS ORGANISED BY ME TO GET AS MANY MEMBERS OF GR TOGETHER TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS. BUT THEN WENT ON TO BECOME A BIG EVENT TO RAISE MONEY FOR CANCER RESEARCH UK. VIA THE PINK FUND. TO MY KNOWLEDGE YOU HAVE ALL HELPED TO RAISE JUST OVER FOUR THOUSAND POUNDS FOR CANCER RESEARCH UK. Jenny xx |
